Hi everyone, I just needed to kinda vent for a little bit and hope for some encouragement and stuff. Tomorrow, 3-23, I'm going to my first therapist session to move along and begin to fully transition to become a woman. I was lucky enough to find a therapist who works with people who are on a budget and specializes in people with GID. There are a million emotions that are going through my head right now and I can't wait to see how it'll go. I'm excited to really start my way to eventual SRS but nervous about opening up to a complete stranger. I'm worried about what my extended family will think and friends and everyone really. A Gallup poll identified 3.2% of Americans as LGBT, and discovered surprising trends in demographics. I didnt want to sideswipe JessicaSideways topic so I started this one on the subject of 'admirers'. From being here a while i know that admirers seem to be frowned upon. And I am wondering if there is something that is inherent in an 'admirer' aside from the fact that they would prefer to be with a transgendered person. In a perfect world a straight biological man would prefer to be with a female, and that female could be cisgendered, or transgendered. Hi everyone-I was searching the net for any more information about insurance coverage for us and I came across a "youtube" video. I titled it "transgender insurance" and up popped a vi deo from a guy(FtM) named Aaron. In it he talked about the AMA and a certain resolution that they passed. Resolution 122(A-08). Just posting from my own experience. In becoming myself, i used to get so offended if someone i thought cared about me, would use wrong pronouns. I believe if someone in my life is not intentionally doing these things, then i need to not be offended. In talking to my Mom yesterday, my Mom, in referrring to me, said 'she'. And then, immediatley corrected herself. And she was so afraid that i would take offense. I told her, I know you are trying. No offense taken. I believe acceptance has to be a two way street. Yes, we demand acceptance from others. And, we need to accept the fact that even when they do...they might mess up once in a while.

So, with medicare covering surgery, I have contacted surgeons to see if they will accept medicare and have gotten an emphatic no from them all . Even from surgeons that are trans themselves. Yea, guess it is all about the almighty dollar. So, at my age, I am giving myself 3 years. 3 years to get back in to my profession, get my surgeries done. And If it doesn't happen, then, I give up.

I'm not sure where in actually terminology I'd fall and I've searched everywhere but nobody has been able to relate, I just feel isolated and I don't know what to do. The only people I've seen feel similarly are trans women and amab nonbinary people and I don't want to seem like a jerk who's just talking over them. Happy New Year, east coasters! Well, in about 15 minutes anyway. Tonight I am doing lots of shaving, maybe I'll try this face mask stuff my friend recommended, me and my wife will probably do each other's nails... and I'm not wearing any guy clothes. It's a symbolic little ritual for me as I pass into the new year, leaving baggage behind! Anyone got any ideas for hair removal for Psoriosis sufferers like myself? I have it bad on my legs in particular which are also highly hairy. Its just that some waxes/removal creams are not suitable.

My mind tends to wander. A lot. One thought in particular went through the empty space this morning as I was on my way to the vet. For my rat, not me. If someone who matters to me was to ask, about sexual orientation, I have no idea how to honestly answer that question. I’m bisexual, but for the sake of argument let’s say I’m not. Last night I shared more things about being transgender with my wife. It was a conversation that was coming up because she sees me dressed much more often. I was telling her that many transgender folks have known they were this way as children. I mentioned again my feelings of being different throughout my life. She listened intently as she tried to understand what I was saying. I also shared with her that I can be transgender and Christian. It's my prayer that transgender people will take into account their spiritual condition. I do enjoy having these discussions because it helps her to see what it is to be transgender. Gennee
