Hello, and greetings to all! I'm a young newly transitioned FTM. I've never really met any others in the wide world of gender issues, and I was hoping to just have a place to come chat sometimes. To get the ball rolling- I'm currently on testo therapy weekly, I got all my legal documents changed and I'm engaged to be married. There, that's me in a nut shell. SO...how's it going one and all? 2. For years I have been an advocate in my state. Looking to change DMV policy in regards to gender markers. Recently working with a trans group to get Medicare to pay for surgeries for trans people. And I am thinking it might be time for me to separate myself from all this. Even though there is a trans support group in my state, it is just a ghost group. they ask for someone to fight the fight, but never give support. I just want to say, if you as trans people want an advocate, don't lay it all on one person. Do your part too. Even if it's just a word of encouragement. For my part...advocating in my state....I've done my part. And I will do no more. Not until I s…

Everyone here always comes up with insightful topics and discussions here. You people share your life's ups and downs and offer people like me much needed insight. I feel that we have quite a community here and I am glad to be apart of it. PS I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday.

  4. You see with the current way things are working.. I'm living paycheck to paycheck, so I find it very difficult to save anything. Or it happens that I get to save a little bit of money on the side and then something happens that I have to suddenly spend that on something important to keep me going, like recently my jeep. So I haven't been able to save anything for my surgery and my consultation is coming up at the beginning of the new year! I'm struggling and my dysphoria is getting worse.. (Suggestions are greatly appreciated!) Please help 😩

about our choices as transgender. Why do we need to subject ourselves to doctors whom claim to be transgender specialist. Doctors who don't accept insurance and don't prescribe hormones. Doctors who treat us like a star way to become rich and famous. This kind of doctor that I've been seeing. Why can't we just go to a regular endocrinologist and explain our case as any regular patient? I think that's what i am doing next. I would love to hear what every body else has to say.

ive decided that im going to have to give up being transgender as living where im living i cant be myself nor can i really afford the stuff to look pretty and gothic like i want to. those who are like me know what im going thru and know it takes money to fix what is inside us. i know some will be disappointed in me but what can i really do. not like i can pull money out my arse every month. 700 monthly dont go far when you got to pay rent and bills and food. here is the factors that made me decide this: 1) no friends literally that i can hang out wiith that are like me in my area that drive as i dont drive at all 2) my current residence town wise prevents me from b…

I wasn't going to post this because I've pretty much figured out the answer for myself, and I've also got a pretty decent guess at what the forum response will be. But I was egged on by a certain someone, and maybe people will find it interesting anyhow. This is a reformatted set of IMs so if it has funny pacing, that's why. I've been finding something interesting lately. I have several fronts on which I can progress transition-wise but they are sort of decisive in that they remove barriers to further transitioning .. rolling snowballs, sorta. Things like doing voice practice in person with friends, which would let me try going out, which would open up more possibilit…

Hi everyone, I just needed to kinda vent for a little bit and hope for some encouragement and stuff. Tomorrow, 3-23, I'm going to my first therapist session to move along and begin to fully transition to become a woman. I was lucky enough to find a therapist who works with people who are on a budget and specializes in people with GID. There are a million emotions that are going through my head right now and I can't wait to see how it'll go. I'm excited to really start my way to eventual SRS but nervous about opening up to a complete stranger. I'm worried about what my extended family will think and friends and everyone really. Also I'm a little angry with myself tha…

  9. Being transgender is not simple. That said following back on defensive actions doesn't even help! Than what is one to do? Simply use the kamakazi approach in whatever seem right at the time for temporary use.We are not robot's as British dominate on American politics to this day.The world isn't perfect in binary form 1's & 0's its whole series of numbers ranging from 12,11,10,..,3,,2,1,0 sort of issues. Therefore it required to be cherish those of us have backup plan F,G,Z etc.But those who don't even stay in forums yet alone being transgender.Happy weekend everyone Kiss

As always, we are looking for Transgender hangout places, trying to find a place Nikki can go out, relax, maybe make some irl friends like him. We're in a reasonable distance to Dayton, which is the biggest city near us and more likely to have things than our tiny new town.

hey everyone - just thought i'd let you all know i'll be out-of-pocket pretty much as i'm off visiting my mum. well, actually... mama annie told me that i should let you all know why i'm not here. lol...women always think of things like that. anyway getting on my mum's computer is not the easiest and i'm thinking i've been fairly lucky today finding a wireless connection in the area. so...i'll check in when i can. may just read mostly since i dunno how reliable this connection is. i'd be mighty pissed if i started some kind of big philosophical debate or reply and someone (whoever it is). Here's an article I read today about the relevance of Pride weeks. There is a recognition that gays and lesbians are becoming more and more acceptable in society particularly by the younger generation and that the focus needs to shift towards the transgenders and transexuals. http://lifewise.canoe.ca/Beauty/AskIvana/2...22/4282306.html Bonnie

This seems to be percolating through news feeds lately. It’s dated 10/3/17 and the comments suggest something about tech times target audience. http://www.techtimes.com/articles/213993/20171003/sex-change-regret-growing-number-of-transgenders-wants-gender-reversal-surgery.htm And here is an older article updated in 2016 counters the impression the tech times article suggests. It is less inflammatory, as well as better researched and considered. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/brynn-tannehill/myths-about-transition-regrets_b_6160626.html I’m offering these as a heads up to expect some discussion on the subject. And I think anyone who's tripped over the first article sho…

Just had to get this off my chest. Even though I get along with all my family, today has been a somewhat bitter sweet day. You see, today is my birthday, and I heard nothing from my family. At the same time it has been a sweet day. Just got a phone call from a very dear friend, and telling me she loves me, and thanked me for being in her life. I also got a surprise e-mail from my life coach saying happy birthday. How she knew it was my birthday is beyond me, but it felt good. So, trying to hang on to the positive and let go of the hurt of not hearing from my family. I am finding that blood is not thicker than water. Having a few good friends is much more.

This has been a curiosity of mine for years, so I'm going to throw it out there: trans people when you dream are you male, female or neither in your dreams? After my GRS I would sometimes dream that I still had my old bits. Needless to say, this would cause some consternation! It went on for years (I'm 17 years post-op), though they have faded (thankfully!) and now I'm either not aware of my gender in my dreams or I'm female. What are your experiences? All the best!

  17. People born with gender dysphoria have a physical difference between the sex of their brain and their natal sex so with this knowledge why are gender dysphoric people not classed as intersex when it is a scientific fact.

when i was about 7 or 8 years old, i had already known for quite some time that i loved being a girl. i didnt know that it was transgenderism, and i didnt know that there was anyone else like me. but i knew that i loved dressing up, and i loved it when all the people who saw me would use female pronouns with me Without Asking(!) and all of that. at any rate, when i was about that age, i found this book of short stories. and one of these stories spoke to me like no other story ever had. it was about a child, who was raised androgynously...and hir adventures in childhood, and in life. now this story doesnt speak just to transgender people i think....the author probably did…

Some words seem to become difficult in a TG situation. I'm curious what substitution words people have developed to get around this. Good example: "wife". See, I started out saying "SO" partially because I didn't feel like exposing that detail at the time, but partially because it's an awkward sort of word to use. I somehow can't see a lesbian couple calling each other "wife" or even "husband" if one was really butch, unless they were doing it as a joke. I don't know, maybe they would? I guess if a lesbian couple did somehow manage to get married in the current political climate (Massachusetts and Canada excepted ) they'd probably be pretty proud of it. But what do …

  22. The trans community feels underrepresented under the LGBT umbrella but we need to play a part in fixing that ourselves 24 October 2012 | By Ashlee Kelly Ashlee Kelly: One transwoman who says trans people would help their community by being more visible. I love being part of a community. Knowing there are other people similar to yourself all around the country, even the world, is a comforting feeling. Whether the differences between you are small or huge, having the backs of those like you is an important safety net. As the saying goes, there is safety in numbers. That's why I am a strong believer in the LGBT community. -gaystarnews.com The silent 'T': are tr…

It's not really soemthing I'm considdering, just wandered if theres any factual basis behind it. Plus I'm sure the negative side effects would outweigh the positive. Tiff
