Hi everyone my girl name is Amy and I'm 19, from Northern Ireland (or Ireland to people outside the UK) I used to crossdress a long time ago, might have been when I was 14 or something! But some things changed round the house and now I don't want to risk doing it anymore I wont make this a dramatic thing - I'm in a wheelchair and live an almost fully independant life, I live with my parents (at the minute) and that is why I don't currently dress girly. I don't want to transistion I'm happy with who I am though I get pretty into my crossdressing hehe anyway that's my intro of saying 'Hi' wb Amy

I found I used to write here often when I was ... well I guess you could say I was in turmoil. Not to say I didn’t have anything positive in my life but just that everything was followed with a “Yeah but”. No matter what I did or where I went or how great a time I should have been having it was all followed with “Yeah but”. It was two words that always were in the forefront of my mind and a voice inside screamed it whenever my eyes met a mirror ... it was my voice .. I mean to say it was my currant voice, my female voice. I’m writing now because I try to remind myself that it’s important to pass along how things are a little further down the road, after accepting one’s…

Last Thursday evening my wife accepted me as a transgender person. It happened at a meeting at church. We are part of a task force that is creating and LGBTQI ministry which will kick off in June. Each person shared the their story and reasons for being there. When it was Louise's turn she shared her acceptance of me as a transgender woman. I was thrilled to say the least. It was also something that I prayed for. The following night I revealed my feminine name to her. I sensed that she was ready and my hunch proved to be correct. Louise read an article that I had written for an online magazine. She liked the article very much. Her acceptance means so much. There a…

Hi Girls/Guys, Well I finally feel at peace now, I finally lost my virginity with a guy for the first time last night and it was amazing. I was so scared at first feeling guilty about doing it ( my old christian beliefs planted in the back of my mind )and that afterwards I would feel sinful and dirty. But I didn't, he was so kind and we took everything nce and slow, he made sure I was always relaxed. It was great!! At first we just kissed ( Well I'd never even kissed a guy!! ) I thought I would be grossed out by his designer stubble touching my face, but I wasn't, I thought beforehand the little christian voice that always tells me I'm a sinner for doing this or doi…

So many heavy topics here lately. I wish I could contribute in some way but there's not much I can do besides add an online sympathy note. So... if you want to read about someone else's frivelous plans for a small distraction, read on... Myself and the neighbor lady are going out for a pedicure today to relax and decompress. At the very least, I'm going to get clear polish. There is the usual temptation to get some color too, along with the usual hesitation about possible negative attention. Afterwards -- cheescake! Then we might go shopping a bit as she tries to find something for her bf. Maybe we'll have time for a make-up lesson too? I'm going out in mostly male…

Coming out is a very personal matter. It's telling the world that this is who I am. I am mindful that my coming out process came several weeks after discovering that I was a crossdresser. When I did accept myself all of the stress in my life dissipated. It took over a week that I had gone over a divide that I never imagined that I would cross. I have concluded that coming out is not a one time event. It's happened to me a number of times. I proceeded from a crossdresser to transgenderist to transgender. At the present time I am experiencing another shift in my identity, moving closer to identifying as fully feminine. This is after a long period of relative calm. Wha…

Yesterday I used my male voice to answer a question to my best female friend and she physically shuttered and said never do that ever again. I've had no voice training but have developed a decent female voice that is not difficult to keep it up and have been doing this for a while now. I will say it was hard to get the male voice going yesterday which surprised me. So that brings me to a question, how many here have been working on their female voice and what success rate do you have with it?

  10. Society continues to mislead impressionable girls (and boys) by implying that hair, except that which is on the head, and perhaps a well-groomed strand or two below the belt, does not exist or should not exist on women - only men have body hair. And if a woman finds hair on her body, she must eliminate it or hide it from public view until she can do so in order to avoid judgement and embarassment. Is this commercial teaching people that if a woman has [facial] hair, she's not a woman? Pay attention to the part of the video between 18 to 24 seconds. Besides warping peoples' understanding of what's natural, could this also eventually trickle down to what people think…

I am sorry in Advance is this is rambled and long winded, and I thank those who took the time to read it and respond. The truth of the matter is I am lost. I am a 26 year old male who is outta shape to begin with, I have zero confidence in myself these days which I believe to be in relation to certain events of my high school days. When I was young probably around 12 years old my Dad told the family he was a CrossDresser so my exposure to this world happened fairly early in life, my Family all accepted him for it and that was pretty much it. But at the start of grade 10 we moved Cities and I had to leave my life behind and go to a new school, and I am a shy o…

For the past ten days or so, I have sensed that a shift in my gender identity has occurred. I can only think and see myself in feminine terms. Even at night lying in bed, my thoughts are continually on the feminine spectrum. For the first time, I felt some discontent as a male. This never happened before. My wife also sees that everything from clothes to general life is in a feminine perspective. This past Sunday I was strolling along the streets enjoying the sights and sounds of the city. I felt an overwhelming contentedness because some situations that I was ill at ease in before didn't phase me. I talk with the public, use public accomodations without fear, and have…

  14. Hello Everyone, I hope I don't cause a firestorm by what I am about to say, but I need some help sorting out some feelings that I am having concerning the ABC special on B. Jenner this evening. On one hand, I can certainly sympathize with what B. is going through, and to have the courage to talk about it, on national TV, on one level that is awesome. It puts a face to being on the Transgender spectrum. But it is a spectrum, and that is what is bothering me. We are all individuals, and while our own journeys have similarities, they also have differences - occasional, part time, full time, surgery, no surgery, out, in the closet - each one of our journeys is uni…

  15. Many opponents label the passage of bills for transgender rights as a 'bathroom bill'. They stoke fear into uninformed people that allowing transgender people to use public accommodations will endanger the children and women. Well, these people shouldn't talk. How come the military is sweeping over 20,000 rape cases under the rug? How come lawmakers have a hard time protecting women from discrimination, abuse, and exploitation? Recently, a transgender woman was denied the use of a dressing room because the owner felt the customers would be uncomfortable. I saw through that ruse! SHE was the one who was uncomfortable. I'm not about changing people's perceptions be…

  18. I have a definitely burning question for my own personal experiences to share and ask ANYONE about if they got hired dressing up in girls or men's clothes from being opposing genders?? I myself have been to 2 interviews and the HR person didn't call me back for the job position. I know I was over qualified & the position was sales merely not technical position. I have however been advised to go as male get the job and after 6 months at work drop the bomb of coming out as a girl. Now I have also remained in my dual genders for the purpose of getting hired in executive job where I know over there it's absolutely no for accepting trans folk. I am not saying in negativ…

So here is what has been going on with me lately. I have decided to make some positive life changes and I am taking charge of my life staring in 2012. First on the list is a move to Phoenix and getting involved with some of the programs that will help me with my transition into womanhood. That article that I had posted about H.O.P.E. House had me intrigued and I checked into it some more and made the decision to go down there and start my life over and go solo for the first time in 15 years. I discussed this with my dad and he supports my decision and knows that I can't live with him forever and that he's not going to be around forever so I better prepare for being on …

  20. Aydian Dowling | 08 Oct 2016 "Finally -- and maybe most importantly -- there's a need to truthfully address the notion of binary gender. Getting beyond that binary is surely one way we will overcome this, but that is new, uncharted water we as a community will be struggling with for a long time. And it will be worth the wait if, in the end, everyone can express their unique gender identity in an authentic way and have that identity acknowledged and respected by all." - Dowling, nbcnews.com Opinion: The Invisible Man: Why Have Transmen Been Left Behind?

Just posting from my own experience. In becoming myself, i used to get so offended if someone i thought cared about me, would use wrong pronouns. I believe if someone in my life is not intentionally doing these things, then i need to not be offended. In talking to my Mom yesterday, my Mom, in referrring to me, said 'she'. And then, immediatley corrected herself. And she was so afraid that i would take offense. I told her, I know you are trying. No offense taken. I believe acceptance has to be a two way street. Yes, we demand acceptance from others. And, we need to accept the fact that even when they do...they might mess up once in a while.

Prior to coming out and transitioning fulltime as Annah, I used to work for Liberty Mutual as a Disability Claims Manager. In every single contract for every single Company we write for in regards to disability insurance, Transgender-related disability was always an exclusion to any policy (i.e., you could never apply under disability benefits when receiving SRS). Since I came out, I also came out to my friends at Liberty Mutual. I had made a lot of friends while I had worked there under the male persona. I was given corporate level disability claims of CEOs and other executive members who went out on disability under the contracts of AllState, Nokia, Jc Penny's, etc. …

I know you probably hear get these questions all the time, so I apologize. Anyways... Since I was six years old, I have had the urge to dress up as a woman (bet you would have N…

Hi everyone, I recently started volunteering at Identity House - a volunteer group in NYC that provides peer counseling, support groups, and therapy referrals for LGBT people - and a term has been used in various settings there that I wanted to ask people here about. Specifically, people will use the term "person of trans experience" - I wanted to see if others had heard that term, and what you think of it? Personally, I'm not a fan, it irks me as much as "transgendered" (it's not something that happened to me! It's who I am!!). The way I often respond is to ask people to consider the same construction for lesbian or gay people and see how it sounds - so "person of gay ex…
