This week on Tuesday I received my first hormone prescription. I am so happy upon taking the first steps to transition. Yeah baby yeah, I'm so happy. I even received a round of applause when I told everyone in the support group I visit in NYC. I hope all is well with everyone here. ^_^

I have gone to alot of trans websites looking for support. In my living I deal with alot of discrimination, I hear it every day when I go to work,,,and even hear it when I work outside my home. And it seems like everytime i mention the hard times I am dealing with, I get put down by trans people in my community. They keep telling me they are not dealing with the harrassment I am dealing with...and then write me off. Like it's my fault that people don't accept me. I haven't tried to push my truth onto anyone. Living two lives?? I am happy with the life I have lived up to this point. The friends that I have know me as a male, and for years they have used my name with others and identified with who I am. What troubles me is my need to resolve my Gender Identity Crisis within myself. If I look at my life number one as presenting the real me but with a male costume on then I could present in life number one, looking at it as an acting job. I go to work, do my thing and go home. If there were a country you could go to where even the most masculine-looking man can live as a woman, and even the most feminine-looking woman can live as a man, and they could be accepted in their desired gender and everything without changing their bodies, would you choose to go instead of transitioning? (If you have transitioned, would you have chosen to go to that country if you could avoid transitioning by doing so?)

An idea came up this morning in a chat session that I wanted to ask everyone about. Have your family or friends ever wondered if you were gay-- that is, in relation to your birth sex? And if you've been asked about this, how did it make you feel? i have an important question i wanted to ask you all and i need honest opinions on it. i have been for quite sometime pondered starting my own gofundme account to raise money for my SRS. the problem im running into is that social security wont allow me to recieve checks since im on SSI. i want to do this but im unsure if anyone would ever donate to it and such. my goal is to try to accomplish the srs within 2 years if i can.....4 years tops. one idea i came up with was have the check sent to the doctor who ive picked to do the SRS and that would get around the whole cashing the check part. do you all think i should take this chance and see what happens...or do you think …

Howdi all, How do your TGism reflect itself in dreams? Have you always dreamt 'in the persona' of your 'brain/true sex'? This is just something that came up in a conversation between my partner and I this morning. I thought it rather amusing, so I figured I'd post it. I live with an old girl friend. We are not the least bit romantic at this point, but we are good friends. She rents a couple of rooms in my home. She wants to babysit for extra cash. She got some replies pretty quickly off of craig's list and invited the people over. We live in the mid west. I was at a transgender conference this weekend, and someone mentioned a sort of "puberty-blocker" that people are starting to use. Basically, if a child is diagnosed as TS at an early age, you can get some kind of implant that blocks puberty. Later when they grow up, they can decide whether to take it out and go through puberty, or start a different set of hormones. Has anyone else ever heard of this? -Lysander

I live in New Hampshire and am in the process of seeking out competent gender specialists: therapists; endocrinologists; surgeons, etc. Nellenelle, if you're still here, I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts about Dartmouth's program. I don't think of my being transgender as a malfunction. My malfunctions came due to how transgender people were and are treated in a society we created. I have other malfunctions due to that treatment, like bi-polar type 1 at the age of 12 and schizophrenia at the age of 24 which was a build of many things. Malfunctions that didn't have to happen and don't need to happen to our children who will become future adults. There is no cure for what I have but there is a cure for what caused it.
