I used to have friends from every shade of the rainbow, butch gay males, fem gay males, stone butch lesbians, fem lesbians, and a few bisexuals for good measure....but once I came out about being trans they turned against me, called me a traitor and in a few cases physically attacked me.... I now only have 2 gay friends left, and even they get snarky with me for being trans. Did this happen to anyone else? Jay

This might sound odd but I need to find some answers. My husband has mentioned that he could be a transgender. He has felt like he is a female since he was about 7 or 8 years old. He dosen't relate to very many male things like sports or fishing or hunting. He says he loves me but his brain thinks female. He is in his late 40's says he is too old to hav the surgery even though he said as long as he is married he would not change his sex. He would only change if we separate. I love him and he loves me so that is not something to be considered. He used to be on this board 2 years ago we are now in thearpy and he tells me and his theaist that most of the things he sa…

These questions are about motivation and what sort of trade-offs you'd be willing to make. (Yes, they are very hypothetical.) FOR THE LADIES: If you remained your birth sex publicly and could experience pregnancy, would that satisfy you enough to not transition? What if by transitioning, you would lose the ability to get pregnant? FOR THE MEN: Is there any circumstance that could persuade you to bear a child post-transition? (example-- your wife was unable to) Would you be willing to go through a pregnancy if you could be an anatomically-correct male? Annie

I've appreciated the Forum thread "Questions From Spouses/Significant Others Of A Person Who Identifies As A Transgender Person Or Is A Transitioning Transsexual" and started thinking it might be interesting to gather a list of questions that we deal with. Maybe some are ones you already have answers for - great! I'd like to also know those. I probably just haven't thought of them yet. But more than just the questions, what are your thoughts and answers? I'd very much like to hear your perspectives. The questions below are in no particular order; I grouped them a little and hope that helps: On Being Transgender - Am I really transgender? The reason I ask myself t…

In those quiet moments, thoughts of where my journey has taken me fill my mind. I'm different and yet I didn't feel any earthshaking experience. This has been the way my journey has gone. I find these quiet moments rather refreshing. I've always been a quiet and reflective individual. Quiet spaces for me is nirvana. An empty church, park, among nature. These thoughts are clearest when I wake up in the morning. This has happening with more frequency. From time to time I wonder if my being transgender was the fulfillment of a Native American prophecy. There are those times I wish that I could travel by foot across the land. As a child I was fascinated by country roads…

Just courious , how many here have that persistant back ground boice within there heads telling them .... Well more like shouting at them that what ever they do nothing will change , they are still a man ( woman ) and no amount of surgery or hormones will change this . Or that your not worthy to transition and you dont desirve to do so .. Why not , why dont I desirve , or why wont I pass , or do I truelly matter at all , whats been eating at your mind . Driving that voice inside to make you doubt or hesitate or question who it is you are . I will share later I just want to get the ball rolling. Hugs Stephani

Here is an article worth reading. https://www.boredpanda.com/people-gender-transition-stories-twitter/?fbclid=IwAR0WQgS0yIW5K9HK2lKRZUEkVTB6I_3fgbCsWocXeGbR1dFT5SF5eMMjC40&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic The things I love about life are those special, subtle reactions that say I'm worth it. I look for them; there are many!!! I try to ignore and distance myself from the negative.

OK, I feel I have to clear the air, there seams to be a mis conception about the difference between life pre op and post op, the words oh it will all be better once that is gone, my cloths will fit I will be more comfortable more confident in my self. Bull, if your self confident then your that way pre just as much as post operations, if your a basket case emotionally before your going to be even more so after words. I am so sick of all these individuals who tie up their crap lives with being Trans anything or that's why they are so unhappy because they have this darn issue that no one understands, how can the rest of the world understand if nothing changes post op all …

Today the same salon that has cut my hair for about 2 years put specific conditions on my being accepted for beauty services. I called for a haircut as usual but reminded the stylist of my being transgendered and wanting a feminine hairstyle. I simply asked if it would be helpful for her if I wore make-up to help recommend a style that would be best for my facial shape and feminine identity in public. I was told that I would have to come in for a special appointment because my being there would be "bad for busines". I was told that because it was a small town everybody talks and the owner didn't want that. I respected the viewpoint that they were looking ou…

Regaining sense of community control Hello everybody! It's been a while since back logging on to tgguide community forums! I had two reasons for not logging on regular basis! Firstly I lost access to my tablet due to battery failure and I just bought it on new year's! Secondly I thought I was the only transgender person in mega city as I reside in! But after my 4 years of hardcore transitions on or off, I have found a exact replica of my cross dressers to transgender community meeting every Monday in my area of residence! I hope to promote my YouTube channel for all members of transgender community not only cross dressers! Few that's a big scope. Visit Shazy Jeo on Y…

Hello all, I know that a lot of you probably don't know me. I had originally joined last summer, and was slowly coming out of my shell, but earlier this year I withdrew into myself again... I stopped visiting, and ended up staying away for many months. I finally started visiting again a couple of weeks ago, and have begun starting to come out of the shell again. It's not easy for me; even something as simple as commenting on a blog post or something takes a force of will. But I have been working at opening up. Now I am actually going to attempt to post something about myself. The last time I had been around, I believe I was working through how to come out to my…

I guess you know that it is time to give up on a relationship, when you spend your last cent to send someone you care about, and you think cares about you, a birthday present, and you get no thank you....no response at all. Yea, been kidding myself for too long.

I am looking for any insight that others might have. My partner is having a very hard time with my desire to transition. VERY HARD. She says she just can not see me as a man. She says that it is like me telling her the trees are red when she knows full well they are green. I feel like I am invisible. Like I keep trying to show her myself and she can not see or refuses to see. I have not worn women’s clothes in years and I have never liked wearing them. I have always been on the male end as far as interests. It is not like I am all of a sudden showing something that was totally hidden. I see that I am asking her to rearrange her own identity but she can not even accept my …

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force has released its fourth and final report analyzing the intersection of race and gender identity among transgender and gender non-conforming people who completed the National Transgender Discrimination Survey. As has been evident with other racial groups, transgender American Indians and Alaskan Native respondents experienced unique levels of discrimination because of their overlapping identities: Read Article

Hi everyone-I was searching the net for any more information about insurance coverage for us and I came across a "youtube" video. I titled it "transgender insurance" and up popped a vi deo from a guy(FtM) named Aaron. In it he talked about the AMA and a certain resolution that they passed. Resolution 122(A-08). There are alot of whereas paragraphs so I'll be brief. Bassicly they oppose any discrimination on the basis of gender idenity and recognise the seriousness of the disorder and the grave consequences if left untreated. Page 2 there are two sections where they have a resolved, and since I don't know how to do any insertion thing,I'll quote line 15; "RESOLVED, …

I'm sure this is out there and has been addressed somewhere, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site with material for friends who are interested and want to be helpful. I had a friend express an interest in something like this, which was really sweet of her.. but I realized I don't have a whole lot to pass along besides my "personal FAQ" I've been building. Most of the material I've found has been for the trans person themselves, or occasionally, coping spouses/SOs.

I usually just lurk, but I guess I'm posting this because I don't really have anywhere else to write it. Recently, my car got keyed with the message "TRANNYS SUCK". I'm 95% certain it was the doing of my younger brother (who, bless his little soul, is now in juvenile detention for other things he did that evening). Currently, I have painted hearts over it in acrylic paint (I don't have enough money to have it professionally fixed - he got both my doors on the driver's side). Because of it, I was pretty much forced to "come out" to the rest of my family (funny thing was, I never actually told my brother), which I wasn't really prepared to do. It just has me par…

Wired magazine recently had a blurb along the lines of "When a transgendered one has gotta go, where?" They answered with http://www.safe2pee.org. I checked, the site is real and created by self-described genderqueers with anarchist tendencies. You can search, add, upload photos, etc. Search is by city and state but includes Canada, too. Check it out before you go out!
