  3. Finally the athletic community is addressing the issue of transgender athletes. As a transgender woman most of the time I run in my women athletic clothing. I have take herbals for over three years now and now need to wear a bra and have a softer trim body that fits well in women's cut sports wear. I actually almost look funny in men's cut sports wear. ----- this discussion focus will be on the social and acceptance aspects of the transgender athlete. In my case I never expect to finish SRS but I do feel like more like a woman athlete and do wish to complete at least as non-binary in future sporting events.

Well, I'm thrilled to report a very sucessful T D O R service from here in Richmond Virginia last night . We actually had more actual trans people than we have ever had in the five years we have had a service . The count I observed was 160 people .

Hi I have always had quite sensitive skin, and as is the same for everyone some parts more sensitive than other's. I pretty much shave as much of myself as i can legs, arms chest, stomach, pits etc. I find that after shaving that some area's start to get irritated and rash up. Over the next few days it gets worse untill it's like i have acne. In the past i've solved this problem by just not shaving those area's that are worse affected, but i dont like doing that. It just doesn't look right to me having these horrible jet black hairs. Has anyone ever had this problem before? If so is there a way to stop it? Any help would be much appreciated :D

This is a very important isuue for me and probably for alot of us ts girls. I would like to hear about personal experiences for post op girls and sex. I have not had any sexual experiences with men. This may sound silly but I am holding out until I get srs. I don't want sex to be the overriding factor in my reason for transitioning. I know if I were to start having sex with men it would preoccupy my mind so much I might become promiscuous and wish for transition to happen faster. Sex as a woman with men will be very importatnt. I do crave being with men but as I said it will only compound the problem. I am a hetero woman but I don't want it to push my desire to live as…

For the past few weeks my close friend DJ, has been by my side since the moment I've gone public in my MTF transitioning. DJ has been staying at my apartment for a while, and recently I wanted her to hear my new transitioned voice sounding more feminine, but doing the past few days I'm beginning to notice a change in our friendship, DJ who was talkative to me, now she is quite which began to worry me. So I asked her did she feel uncomfortable with me walking around the apartment with long hair, wearing lipstick, and in women clothing? DJ replied back to me "not at all" but deep down inside I think she does, which is making feel a bit nervous? She tells me that she likes m…

  9. This is what I did to get the gender designation mark changed on my driver licenses. First, I found this video in which the professor told the class to check the laws in the state that they lived in. Oh yes I have post this video in our forum under the (Male to Female (MtF) Crossdresser Discussion) look for the thread Transgender 102. I call up DMV here in California and found out to change the M to F all I need to do is get the form and have my doctor sign it. Then I got on line found the form printed it out called the doctor and ask if I may bring it over so she could sign it. I also attached a letter briefly explaining what this form was about. I have l…

I live with an old girl friend. We are not the least bit romantic at this point, but we are good friends. She rents a couple of rooms in my home. She wants to babysit for extra cash. She got some replies pretty quickly off of craig's list and invited the people over. We live in the mid west. She thinks it would be totally unacceptable to introduce me as her landlord (because we live in the same house) and people would not be accepting of this.. So, she introduces me as her fiance. This is not something new. She has done this several times when she thought it would suit appearances. I have told her that honesty is the best policy, but she refuses to listen. …

I have been out for nearly seven years now. There have been many improvements and changes. Protections for GLBT persons are law in many counties, towns, states, and countries. There is also more backlashes because we dare to make our voices heard. Transgender Day of Remembrance reminds me that we’re still in a fight. What is encouraging is that more people are seeing through the labyrinth of lies thrown up by our enemies. I am seeing cracks in the armor of seemingly impenetrable social institutions because people are being educated about gender and sexuality. The church is one such institution. I am part of a task force that forming a ministry for LGBTQI persons. I’…

I’ve been here for about a year and a half now. I’ve met so many amazing people, and learned so much in that time. Many things I never would have thought of, much of which was need-to-know. And unlike other sites I’ve been to, it was offered with love and respect. I’ve seen a few conversations that could be considered controversial, but everyone kept it clean and the language appropriate. This site strives for a PG rating, and it has earned it. So I just wanted to thank everyone here for their help on my journey. And if I have helped even one person for 5 seconds, I want to say thank you for having given me that opportunity.

I attended two memorial services this weekend. On Saturday we celebrated the life of my friend, Bruce Gerig, a man who came into my life shortly after I came out. He made me feel welcome when I first came to the bible studies at the community center. He was generous, bigger than life, knowledgeable about many subjects, and had an infectious laugh that warmed up a room. What I remember most about Bruce was how comfortable he was with himself as a gay man. It helped me to be comfortable with myself as a transgender person. On Sunday I attended a second memorial for a woman affectionately known as “Rookie”. I never met or knew her but I felt that I did. She was helpful…

...Yeah, it shouldn't be that way, but it is...and there's not much we can do about it. Yet. So... I once commented somewhere among the many threads here at TGG that it seemed one can usually tell if the speaker (or writer) is lesbian or gay: lesbians will always say "LGBT," and quite often, gays will say "GLBT." Even some straight women and men will follow the same "rule." But no matter what, we are always last. Well, that is, if there aren't a slew of other initials tacked on by the well-meaning over-zealous. Some of you may have noticed that I have recently started using "TGLB" instead of "LGBT" or "GLBT." But that's probably only because maybe I make a f…

Hi everyone. Recently I just started going to electrolysis on my face, trying to thin out my facial hair and eventually have it all gone so I don't have to shave anymore. But that isn't my reason for posting this. I had a question for others who are transitioning and either going through or have done electrolysis. Which do you think is better: 1. Doing electrolysis first and then starting hormones 2. Starting hormones at the same time as starting electrolysis 3. Hormone therapy for a few months and then starting electrolysis I'm sure everyone else has started at different times and I was wondering if one way works better than another. Its a little late for me…

Ok, so I am writing this here because I do not know where I was suppose to put this so yeah, going to have this post here. I am in a situation that well I am not sure on and yet I am severely unhappy with things in my life. Here is the list of them 1)I am in the low income bracket, meaning I am on SSI and can't afford to transition to female Like I truly want to. 2) I hate the town and state where I live and want to move me and my dad to where I can have friends in the trans community that will be supportive and help me with trying to transition as I am so scared I will screw it up. 3) I been getting depressed more then normal because I am lonely and don't hav…

Some of you may have already seen this video - I saw it for the first time this past weekend. My brother is the one who told me about it. We've all heard of stories of people being misgendered. Sometimes it's an innocent mistake. Sometimes it's arrogant refusal to accept a person's gender identity. Then there are the cases, usually officials of some sort, who insist they must refer to a person based on legal ID or other documentation. The woman in this vid literally came unhinged. It's unclear if the misgendering was intentional. Question is, does her behavior hurt the trans community? Does it do trans woman any good for someone like the woman in the vid to l…

Well, it has been 4-months now that I've been seeing my therapist, and during the 3thrd month, she addressed the situation to my attention, that financially I would never have enough to start my hormone therapy nor surgery to change myself from MTF. I thought that this would had been the last of us seeing each other, but my therapist arranged another appointment for me to come in to see her. I questioned myself about why should I bother to come in to see her anymore, since I'll never have the money to complete my transitioning? Now this is the twist to everything, she also insisted for me to make an appointment with another gender specialist, but she is more advance and d…

I was sitting here thinking just now. I got a text a couple weeks ago from someone that I cut out of my life several years ago. They asked if this was "Jared or Jennifer". How they found out my name since I changed it several years ago, I don't know. I'm not going to give my last name, but my first and middle were Jared Anderson. I always liked the names. But he is dead. And sitting here thinking about it, I realized that once in a rare while I kinda miss the names. Not often mind you. Heck, it never even pops in my mind much anymore. I don't miss anything else, just the names. Is that weird? Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the same way from time to time? If …

  22. Laverne Cox, 06/19/2012 4:38 pm "...I was reminded that we do ourselves a disservice when we think of fighting for our civil rights piecemeal. In a patriarchal culture, we can't really fully talk about eradicating sexism without talking about eradicating homophobia, as well. So much systemic male domination has occurred because the patriarch doesn't want to appear "soft," which in the homophobic, sexist imagination means "gay," which, within that oppressive logic, also means "like a woman." Historically, many patriarchal men have oppressed women so as to not seem "gay," which, for the patriarch, means, in part, having his masculinity called into question. The patriarch h…

I have been very tired and busy for a while now. Came out to some friends and family that just went well almost totally ignored by everyone. I am having some medical problems. Stress at work piling up. I may be starting Spyro soon hopefully. Life is just getting out of hand. I have been working with a therapist for a while now and that helps a lot. I have a lot of dysphoria all the time and anxiety issues. Hopefully things start working out soon.

I read through some of my old writings prior to and after I came out. I was a jumble of confusion and longing. I was confused about my gender. At the same time I wanted to break out of my so-called normal existence. After I came out, I grew into my new identity as a transgender person. I absorbed every experience that came my way. My gender issues stretched as far back as 2000. I didn't know what I was wrestling with at that time. It was much bigger than I imagined. I always believed that we possess both feminine and masculine traits. Why some are equated with one gender and not the other is beyond me. It shows the fallacy of the gender binary system when someone goes …
