Last night I went to a PROM!! Never did that in high school. The LGBTQI ministry at church sponsored it. There were people of all ages and genders dancing and I wore log and having a great time. My spouse and I wore long dresses which draw many compliments. Haven't danced that much in years-and in my heels!! I'll post from pictures when I get them. :D

I attend an affirming church where my wife and I have become members. This past Tuesday i shared with the pastor that I'm transgender. He was so happy that shared this with him. There are several gay and lesbian couples who attend regualrly. As far as I know I'm the only transgender person. I felt relief and joy after sharing this.

  5. My own writing but copied from one of my blogs A question that has been much on my mind recently, as I write this I have a lovely blue dress on, black tights, a control bodysuit and black knickers and bra, my forms fill it out to a nice c cup and to be honest I feel very comfortable. Like most women my age I don't have any makeup on but that doesn't make me feel any less feminine. I have been asking the question above a lot recently. My dysphoria has never been so bad that I have wanted to take a knife to my genitals or felt that bad that I wanted to take my life. Something I know a lot of transwomen have felt so strongly that they wanted to do so. Don't get me …

  7. I'd like to start off by saying that I hope everyone is having a great time this festive season!! I've sort of spent the past few days just going through a lot of the discussions on the forum. I've been amused by the wit of a lot of the members of the forums, touched/moved by the struggles of some and over all I think I may already be growing fond of this site in a major way. I just came across a topic however that triggered the posting of this topic (which is my first ever on the site ) titled "Tides Commercial". Lately I've noticed that the media has come under fire (from the Queer Spectrum) for it's representation or rather misrepresentation of TG/TS folk. Espec…

  13. Hello one and all, To many here I am old hat, simply bern away and missed, I am sure newer members have read a few of my posts, I have been away yet watching from my distant place. I would like for you all to take a look around and with open eyes see what surrounds us these days, are you seeing the troubling things I see or do you grasp onto and incorporate into your lives the troubling things that those of us strove to achieve yet see fading back into the past, I come from a generation who realised that pounding on desks and ordering others into submision was not going to work. We settled back for the long haul understanding those old nazi like tactics were working agai…

Last night I spent some time with my nephew who is 13yrs old and we had a blast hanging out. We had the usuallypoking at each other as always and thats when I brought up about me being transgender to him. So asked him how does he feel about me being his aunt instead of his uncle and he told me he wasn't bothered by it and that he loves me no matter what. I was so proud that he is so accepting of me like my other nephew who is now 18 and graduated from high school. Then my two neices also know and they don't care. Well my 15 year old niece gets it but my younger niece who is 10 years old is not all quite there in grasping things as far as me being transgender. But that doe…

  17. Hello, I'm a transsexual woman, I live in France near Paris. I'm a teacher and I've got a problem. My voice is androgynous (between male and female) and I think about voice surgery. My apparence is good, except I'm tall (1m84 which represents 6 feet) and my voice not that good. I'm 29 years old and I take hormones since 3 years. My ortophonist (the person which teach me to improve my voice) told me that there were a good technique in corea, so I'm thinking about it, and I would like to talk with people who had done this surgery. Excuse me for my english, thanks in advance, Tatiana

  19. Started by Gennee,

I attended two memorial services this weekend. On Saturday we celebrated the life of my friend, Bruce Gerig, a man who came into my life shortly after I came out. He made me feel welcome when I first came to the bible studies at the community center. He was generous, bigger than life, knowledgeable about many subjects, and had an infectious laugh that warmed up a room. What I remember most about Bruce was how comfortable he was with himself as a gay man. It helped me to be comfortable with myself as a transgender person. On Sunday I attended a second memorial for a woman affectionately known as “Rookie”. I never met or knew her but I felt that I did. She was helpful…

  21. Laverne Cox, 06/19/2012 4:38 pm "...I was reminded that we do ourselves a disservice when we think of fighting for our civil rights piecemeal. In a patriarchal culture, we can't really fully talk about eradicating sexism without talking about eradicating homophobia, as well. So much systemic male domination has occurred because the patriarch doesn't want to appear "soft," which in the homophobic, sexist imagination means "gay," which, within that oppressive logic, also means "like a woman." Historically, many patriarchal men have oppressed women so as to not seem "gay," which, for the patriarch, means, in part, having his masculinity called into question. The patriarch h…
