Being an ally vs. just telling others how to be an ally LGBT Weekly Most folk who aren't part of the T of the LGBT community aren't aware of the divides between some of those who identify as transsexual, but not as transgender, and those who identify as both transsexual and transgender. To me, the divide seems to be...

Ok , A trend I have Expierianced and also Noticed , is the use of many substances that truelly hold NO safety , or tranquillity within their use . Drugs , Alcohol , Narcotics , even Herbal remedies , Hold an appeal and a draw to those who suffer any form of Gender Variance , even For those who simply believe that the answers lie within the use of such things . I can attest to the use and abuse of Alcohol , in an attempt to Hide the True Feelings and Nature of Who it was that was trapped within this Body , I suffered Major Alcoholism for 8 years I woke up grabbing the bottle and went to bed placing it beside my Bed at night . Until I relized " I am drowndin…

“Two years ago, a woman named Kathy had a pivotal conversation with her daughter. At the young age of 24, her daughter told her she wanted to transition from being the woman Kathy and her husband had raised into the man she had wanted for so many years to become.” - Patrick Wallace Once a Daughter, Now a Son

Queer youth, especially trans youth are more likely to experience poverty due to being unhoused and/or living in a environment that does not support your gender identity / identities in general. Many of my queer peers are stuck working full time jobs with pay barely above minimum wages just to escape their unsupportive households. With the cost of living being at an all-time high, being able to live without support from your parents, fresh out of high school can be, and more often than not is, extremely challenging. On top of that, queer people are often burdened with either no insurance or insurance that does not support the cost of gender affirming care (assuming it is …

Hi everybody I'm right at the start of my journey. I saw my doctor a couple of weeks ago and told her that I was transsexual - the first person I've told! She referred me for assessment to a gender identity clinic and when I called her secretary today I was told that it will likely take many months to be seen. Does anyone have any information or experience of the time it takes for an initial assessment to take place from point of referral? I guess I should have anticipated some delay (this is our NHS after all) but it's a bit disappointing to have made a commitment to starting down the road to transition only to find there's going to be a long delay before the next st…

D.O. Cauldwell, M.D. “documented the range, intensity, and terrific flexibility of the American libido at least as well as Alfred Kinsey, but without leaving a comparable trace in the historical record – although he is now recognized as the first person writing in the English language to use the expression “transsexual” which appeared in one of his Sexology articles in 1949. (The neologism already existed in German medical literature, and it is possible he picked it up.) The pamphlets on transsexuality are now among the rarest items by Cauldwell. In 2001, the peer-reviewed International Journal of Transgenderism devoted a special issue to Cauldwell, reprinting some of his…

This is what I did to get the gender designation mark changed on my driver licenses. First, I found this video in which the professor told the class to check the laws in the state that they lived in. Oh yes I have post this video in our forum under the (Male to Female (MtF) Crossdresser Discussion) look for the thread Transgender 102. I call up DMV here in California and found out to change the M to F all I need to do is get the form and have my doctor sign it. Then I got on line found the form printed it out called the doctor and ask if I may bring it over so she could sign it. I also attached a letter briefly explaining what this form was about. I have l…

Here's hoping that pride month goes smoothly this year. Maybe we'll even get some legislation in our favor somewhere in this world. Preferably here in America. Anyone got any kind of plans for celebrating this month? I'm working with my legion on cleaning up a section of a popular walking trail. I'm not really able to do much due to the chair, but I do what I can.

Me and a friend wanted to start a stand specifically for hand-crafted trans-pride products at the Pridefest in New york..... We were curious if anyone in the area of anywhere from delaware up to massachsetts wanted in on our plan? Hopefully, after my 18th birthday we were going to open up a business online which would sell trans-only pride merch, since there seems to be a whole 3 legitimate websites to buy from and business partners from all areas would be needed for advertising and the money made from pridefest would go tward funding the website over godaddy Just PM me if you're interested in joining in on our idea! :)

I find this ridiculous, I sent out for my income tax at the end of January and I still have not recieved it. I called them up 3 times and went down there twice. I show them my documents that i have had my name legally changed since November of last year, and I even sent them with my income tax refund. Everytime I call them, they blame the Social Security Office, which i went to go see, and they gave me a statement saying my name was current on their records. I'm finding this really frustrating. Is anyone else having issues with the IRS after you've had a legal name change?
