wednesday nite, 9pm eastern on abc. from the preview i saw tonite...it appears that there is a small boy (perhaps 4, 5 yrs old) that likes to "dress up" and daddy don' like it. not sure where it's all gonna go...but it might be worth a watch just to see how jo handles the situation if the boy likes being a little girl. -michael

A researcher from the University of Kansas is seeking participants for a study on transgender individuals' use of online message boards for social support. If you are transgender and have ever used this message board, I would greatly appreciate your participation in an online survey. Completing the survey should take approximately 20 minutes (all you need to do is click on the survey link): https://qtrial.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_6AwohFqChi3Gf76 Responses will be anonymous. Academic research about social support for transgender individuals, particularly online, is difficult to find. Your participation in this survey will make an invaluable contribution to this area of …

  4. As with most anything having to do with this topic of remembrance THIS VIDEO COMES WITH AN EXTREME TRIGGER WARNING! This is the entire ceremony held on Nov. 20th 2015 at UCC (United Church of Christ, Lakeville New York) . Though the subject matter is difficult, it's needed. I speak frankly about suicide. I speak frankly about children. I speak frankly about what it takes to save lives.

I just learned about TDOR a few weeks ago, and the people in the LGBT group at my college including myself are participating. I believe we intend to do a candlelit vigil. One candle for each person who died since TDOR last year. It will be on our campus from like 6:30-9:00 on November 20th. Since i just learned about this i have no idea what these events are like or how many people show, but i am hoping quite a few students and other people in the area come by.

Disclaimer: The views expressed are actually pro-GLBT. You have to read it to the end to get the point. Some idiots on facebook retorted without reading the entire thing, thinking it was meant to be some right-wing anti-GLBT propaganda. This is why certain tools should actually read the entire thing before deciding to skip that, and then post about me being some kinda chauvinist bigot of some kind. Here's what I posted on facebook (editing was required to censor explitives here on TGG): I bring this up because I noticed that some friends here [on facebook] are already mentioning attending the event though it isn't gonna happen til April of next year. The Day of S…

  10. The independent film by Jerry Williams will premiere 4-25 in a ONE SHOWING ONLY at the Byrd Theater , W Cary street ! This is the film I'm in and I think it is hilarious as well as true , Donnie Corker was as brash as 50 grit sandpaper and I was proud to have known her as I did . Donnie brought being a Gay man in a dress to life in Richmond and certainly allowed we Transgender people to flourish . I'll be out front before and after signing autographs if ya'all care to meet me in person . ONE SHOWING ONLY !!!!!!! 4-25- 2019 Byrd Theater , Richmond Va

This year Toronto Pride 2016 will be for a whole month. June 1 to July 3. I should have posted this earlier, however, the July 1-3 will be the best part of it. July 1 is also Canada's birthday so there will be a whole lot of partying going on Friday. http://www.pridetoronto.com/pride-month/ I had gone to the one in Toronto numerous times and was planning on going again this year but I am low on cash so will have to miss it this year. I will go to the one where I live here in Ottawa in August. August 15 - 21. http://ottawacapitalpride.ca/ I had gone to this one last year for my first time. Bonnie

Hey, I wish there was , it could be ! I just made a couple of P-M's to people on Faceless book about this special day . Yes, I'm totally committed and serious in starting this yearly day . I want it to take off and be a part of our year the same way we morn those who we've lost . If Gay people can have a Pride parade , can't we have an evening where we toast our accomplishments , our leaders in the city and locality ? Look, it can be an "After 5 deal , it can be a BBQ , it can be a rousing get together at a nice meeting place . I want to see people with ideas become involved to do something good .............

  18. Hi all, On September 7-9, 2017 in Philadelphia they are holding the 16th Annual Trans Health Conference. I attended for the first time last year, but it was well worth the trip (from NYC, so not the longest of trips, but still). I did the general admission last year (which is free), and it was worth the time. This year I'm doing the professional track (which was $85 for a student), so I have a lot more options of presentations. There are 2 professionals with whom I've worked who are doing presentations (the person I went to for voice training, and the surgeon who did my GCS). Marci Bowers is also doing a couple of presentations. I'd strongly recommend it for anyone who c…

  20. Those who might be in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sunday May 19th, 2013 there will be the second annual Transgender Day of Celebration picnic at Minnehaha Falls Park. From 4 pm to 10 PM. Two years ago at the Transgender Day of Remembrance services in Minneapolis, MN, they opened the floor for announcements and discussion after the remembrance service was completed. Someone suggested a summer event as TDoR is celebrated 20 November when it usually cold and possibly snow or icy in Minneapolis, MN. (If I recall the temperature was 10F and there was ice on the sidewalks leading to the church entry. I braved the elements and wore a tweed skirt with a satin liner, nylons, two …

The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. The event is held in November to honor Rita Hester, whose murder on November 28th, 1998 kicked off the “Remembering Our Dead” web project and a San Francisco candlelight vigil in 1999. Rita Hester’s murder — like most anti-transgender murder cases — has yet to be solved. Transgender Day of Remembrance 2011 Events List
