Many may question their gender growing up, but never really give it too much in-depth thought. Others will go along [happily] being themselves "because." And in a lot of cases, that they are not the gender they know themselves to be isn't usually an issue until - PUBERTY. Puberty comes skulking around, doing its dastardly deeds on our bodies, making changes we knew were inevitable but chose to ignore. In some cases, we deceived ourselves into thinking these changes would never happen to us...because after all, we know best who we really are, in spite of what other people may believe. Puberty in itself wreaks havoc on many teens. They become rebellious. Some dabble i…

BOOKS & MOVIES BOOKS that may be of interest to transmen. Some book titles are links that take the reader to amazon.com. Some will re-direct the Transgender Book & Print Media forum where synopsis and/or news articles on a book can be found. These books can most likely be purchased at any book store. I have only used amazon.com since many are familiar with it. Readers can view excerpts from, and reviews about, each book. And of course today, I'm sure you all know that many books are available in formats other than hardcover, paperback and audio - like Amazon's "Kindle" and B&N's "Nook." ***The books below are books that TGGuide Members have read …

Especially for the newer guys...and pretty damn convenient for the members who've been here for a while... if any of you are like me, you don't venture too far back in the thread history. and if you do begin, the amount of reading looks daunting at best, so usually it's the latest few threads that get any attention. so, i went back thru the threads here on the FTM forum and looked for threads that may be of interest: What binder FTM Legal, Medical Issues, A little bit of everything Family (dealing with family - experiences of two different guys) I have some questions... How do you know if you're transgendered? that "bulge"?, Question about packing My boyfrie…

I was quite taken aback when I read this article today. The reporter writes many lesbians feel very betrayed when some or any of them try to make their female to male transsexual dreams become a reality. I have been, for as long as I can remember, very sympathetic with gay and lesbian people and I still am. In fact as a male to female transsexual, I have many lesbian desires and would love to become intimately involved, as a female with other females. However, in reading this article it is very disappointing how many lesbians speak out so strongly against female to male transsexuals who were lesbians. I have to say, of all people who seek tolerance and merit full t…

May 16, 10:44 AM EDT Doctors say the United States' first recipient of a transplanted penis is recovering well from the delicate surgery. Surgeons on the Massachusetts General Hospital team who performed the transplant on 64-year-old Thomas Manning say blood is flowing to the organ. They say there are no signs of bleeding, rejection or infection, and that they're cautiously optimistic he will regain the function he lost in 2012 when cancer led to an amputation of the penis. Hi, I have two questions I'd like to ask knowledgeable FtMs... Background - I have really bad acne so I'm taking both Tetralysal and Dianette capsules daily to control it (I am also taking the Dianette to make 'the dreaded event' once a month a little less painful). For these reasons (and a few others) I am reluctant to begin transitioning by dropping these to increase my testosterone levels. I would like to know: 1) Is it possible to transition without testosterone? I don't especially want the excess hair and grease and I could learn to lower my voice - but I'm guessing there's a lot more to it than that. 2) My first priority is having top surgery but I'm assum…

Hello I am Kim Lynn Guys I do want to help. I have only met about 20 F2M in person but talked to many more. Belive it or not you can learn some things from the M2F. Just look at what we do and then do it backwards LOL. Here I will give some examples and a warning at the end. If you are expressive when you talk then try to keep those wrists turned down. Because females turn them up they are showing open and trusting. Guys stay more guarded with that. When the ladies walk it is with more grace and flow, part of the reason is to keep there breast from bounceing as much. A guy will more walk through like he owns the place. There is not as much grace for alot and th…

Ok, I've just been puzzling over this in my head and figured I ask (how else am I going to learn?) For those of you who are hetero... do you prefer GG or TG women? Do you like feminine women or more masculine acting? I know there's not just one answer here, but I'm interested in seeing what the people I converse with think! Except Mr. "Run over all the girls"......

There is a TV in the foyer at work, often showing our own company's adverts, but as I was leaving work the other day it was tuned in to Sky News (What would be Fox News over in the US I Guess) - Anyway they were running a story of a 'pregnant man' and showed a picture of him... As the story develpoed the reporter said something like* "He was once a woman, and when he made his change he kept his internal organs and now claims he is pregnant" *I maybe not be word perfecy here but this was the tone of what was reported. Since then I've not beeen able to find any mention of this story on-line. I don't even know which country it was in. It did seem very strange t…

Hey fellas, Does anyone know the effects of moderate drinking on testosterone? I drink about twice a month, but I'm wondering if it's somehow inhibiting my transition. My endocrine hasn't returned my email regarding this question. If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it. Thanks, DS

I had a question about HRT and other options. I'm 45 and had a complete hysterectomy at the age of 27 because everything had stopped working and I had extreme endrometriosis (sorry about the spelling). I have never taken any hormones. I work out often and I'm not a big person at all, definitely in the chest area. There are all these websites that sell testosterone and/or muscle builders. Right now, I'm just interested in having a little more testosterone in my system to help build some muscle mass, I know as I do that, it will also decrease my breast size. I am not in a position to transition because of my job and my kids. Even though I am a teacher, I don't dress …

I don't feel valid and I don't feel like I fit into the transgender criteria. Throughout my childhood, I'd do things that were considered guy stuff. I'd rub my hair in the sand, play with boy toys, roughhouse, etc. When Mom chose clothes for me, I didn't fuss or get upset when she chose girl clothes for me. When I got to the age where I could choose my own clothes, I chose girly clothes and unisex clothes. I played with guys and girls growing up. I hang out with only girls now. I never wanted to be a boy, but I was a tomboy. When I got to the age of 11, girly things didn't interest me. When someone showed me something pink or frilly or girly, I'd say, "That's too girl…

My guy name is Oliver (over Facebook) or Joe, or Alex, or Ky, I haven't decided what I would call myself. I haven't posted in a while, so I'll just put an update. I knew when I was about 3 or 4, which led to cutting my hair super short. I kept it to myself, because I didn't know what people would say and I was really scared. I kept that up until 10th grade (15 years old), when I told two friends. One of them took it completely fine, but the other one wanted to retalk about it with her (the one that understood) and she later told me that the girl said that I was a freak. So that kind of turned it off for telling people, which none of my family knew yet. I finally …

I want to get the opinion of other FTM's on this. I'm 29, I've never had sex and never really been comfortable with the idea. When I first discovered I was trans, I thought this must be because of the gender dysphoria - makes perfect sense, right? Except that I'm getting to the point in my transition now (on T 2 years, had chest surgery) where that's not an excuse anymore... All of the FTM's I know are comfortable enough with themselves by this time to have sex, and none of them are virgins. In fact, most of them had sex even pre-transition. So I'm starting to think there might be something else going on. Of course the T makes me aroused a lot, but even under that i…

  24. I know I want to present as male soon, but should i get it checked out by a doctor or something if my bodies producing way more testosterone then my sex should be? I'm not fully ready to transition and my fathers realized that things have changed a lot in the last few months with me that would be normally a side effect of going on T like: Increased body hair Deeper voice (idk if this is a side effect) but i rage a lot. Ive become a little bit more muscular. Quite honestly, im not ready for my body to change like this, not this fast anyway.... What the heck should I do?

    Started by Guest Charles,

I recently made myself a binder out of wide elastic bands (I think they're 3-4 inches wide) and some long "bra closure" things. It works very well, and manages to squish off about five inches. Laid flat, it measures 21", and compresses 34" to 29". I could breathe fine and take a full deep breath if I wanted to. The problem I found is that after about a while of wearing it - only about three hours (during which I was only driving), it was more than just a little uncomfortable. It took until after going to sleep for the effects to wear off. It was just a general shooting pain in the sternum area and it hurt to laugh even after I had taken it off (about five and a half ho…
