  1. For most of us it's hard to fully comprehend what is happening in the Middle East. We hear so much it becomes like a blur. This documentary video provides a glimpse into the human tragedy of migrants crossing 4.1 miles of sea from Turkey to Greece: "The film presents a harrowing day in the life of a Greek coast guard captain charged with saving the lives of terrified adults and children attempting to cross the Aegean Sea on flimsy rafts. The captain, Kyriakos Papadopoulos, pulls family after family, child after child, from the Mediterranean — though he is entirely unprepared to conduct relief efforts on such a massive scale. The problem is far from over. Many of the refug…

  2. There's a lot of really goofy songs out there. All over. Some crazier than others. One of my all time favorites is Da Turdy Point Buck. The band name is even funny. Bananas At Large. Another one about banana's is Banana Phone . And the last one involving bananas: It's starting to seem that I have a rather unhealthy preoccupation with bananas...

  13. Did anyone get to see the planets this morning (7-19-20)? I was up at 3:30 AM to see it, but just my luck. The entire area was completely cloud covered. We even drove several miles out of town trying to find a spot to see them, but nothing without driving 100 miles was going to work. The entire CeMO area was blanketed. I did manage to get a quick glimpse of Jupiter and the comet, but that lasted all of 2 seconds. A once in a lifetime chance to see Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn in the sky all at the same time in one night, and I was cloudblocked. I even borrowed some telescopic binoculars to see it, but they ended up a moot point since the only thing to see in t…

So I have a lot of vacation time coming to me. I am hoping to take that time in November. Just keeping my fingers crossed that my old dinosaur passes inspection. No big output of cash. If that happens, I can take a week, have my long distance girlfriend (who is mtf), come down, and show her a good time. I am remaining hopeful. I do believe she is my soul mate. It would be great to spend time with her. Finger crossing time!

Was it just for laughs? Did John Basedow make more out of it with his comments? What did Basedow mean by his opening comment, "ooooo, dude looks like a lady!" And halfway throught the vid, "granted, some sex-swappers came out a little more attractive than others." And then his closing comment, "after seeing the results of bending genders, one thing's clear to me - maybe we shouldn't mess with Mother Nature." Were there some personal biases slyly intertwined with what was intended as just fun? Gender-bender Photo Competition

Hi, I would like to share with you all something that I read recently. I read this article which explains some habits that accelerate the signs of aging, https://www.mcleanclinic.com/blog/skin-care/5-habits-accelerate-signs-aging/ . Most of these things are what we do unknowingly on a daily basis. Even though we cannot stop ourselves from aging, there are some things that we can keep in mind to reduce its speed. Smoking not only causes cancer, but even damages our skin beyond what we imagine. And so does excessive sugar consumption. Things like too much exposure to sun and neglecting our skin are also some factors that accelerates aging. We should alwa…

Does anyone else post on Reddit? I started posting recently, and actually created my own subreddit. It's pretty interesting reading other people's stories. I'm getting ready to create a second one as well. If anyone wants the links I'll be happy to share them. I'd also love to have some people make a few posts as well.

This is something that has been bugging me for a while now. This is gonna sound weird to most everyone. We all have a dead name that we no longer answer to. We ask people to use our actual name. For me my dead name is Jared. My actual name now is Jennifer. But with the Twitter/X thing I'm torn. I know it's not trans friendly, but I also don't know what to call it. Since the website was built, everyone knew it as Twitter. Now that Elon skuM owns it, and changed its name, what do we call it? The majority of people don't know what X is when you talk about it. They only know it as Twitter. So is Twitter the dead name and we call it X now? I know it's just a website, but …

This post has nothing to do with transgender issues nor is it humorous. I am very saddened to read this about and from Oliver Sacks this morning in the NYT: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/19/opinion/oliver-sacks-on-learning-he-has-terminal-cancer.html?action=click&pgtype=Homepage&region=CColumn&module=MostViewed&version=Full&src=mv&WT.nav=MostViewed I've always enjoyed his books and writing. He's erudite, interesting, and has a wonderful and enthusiastic voice that I find inspirational. I wish him the best in the coming months and will certainly buy and read his autobiography when it's released. Emma
