I was wondering if any of you guys and galls have any pictures that show your progress in transitioning. I figure this topic can give tentative transitioners some hope in seeing where others have come from and where they have arrived. Thanks :)

Hi Girls, Reading about the family problems of Chen Ming, I almost feel hesitant to write about my own situation. The things I am experiencing seem insignificant compared to his. I spoke to my parents on the phone for nearly an entire minute. I wanted to tell them about my plans to start HRT at the end of the month and the appointment I made with one of the best SRS surgeons in Thailand. They weren’t interested. They said they were too busy to speak to me. Fortunately, Pantau wasn't too busy to see me and we spent some significant time together. These days I identify with transsexuals and I start to feel upset if anyone consider transsexuals to be freaks. Opening up…

While wanting to remain entirely within the board's rules on not discussing dosages and so forth, I'd like to hear of others' experiences with supplementing their estrogen regimen with progesterone or any form of progestin, but especially 'natural' i.e. micronised progesterone. Effects, both good and bad would be interesting to read about and whether people feel whether it's been beneficial to them for whatever reason. I'm aware that its use is somewhat controversial for TSs but its near-impossible to find any useful literature on the subject, however I'd like to know a bit more about things before I see my endocrinologist in November. Thanks in advance for your …

Hi Jo Jo, wanted to tell you that I enjoy your posts, they are very honest and forthright. After reading in the topic "Pollaxed" that you were forced back into the closet, I am wondering, how is that possible for you. Did you come out to your wife, live it for a while, and then were forced back in the closet in order to keep your family intact? That sounds awful, during this time that you have been hiding, were you able to express your female side at all? Does your wife really think it is that easy to switch back into her husband, that the other side of you is forgotten? During the time you have gone back undercover, has your marriage thrived for it? Sorry for all t…

I'm obviously a girl, I know this. I also know that I want to have the body of a girl, I'm also willing to have my testicles removed. But, when it comes to full SRS I'm like hmmm don't know if I want. Then I start to question myself if I'm really a girl. Surely a true transsexual want's the whole package ( excuse the pun ). Are there other transsexuals here who feel the same,is it normal to feel this way about your penis and wanting to keep it. btw, I was diagnosed with GID last year, just for information's sake.

I'm just curious, testosterone blockers, what permanent effects do they have like biologically (do they sterilize you?) and also do they have any effect on body composure such as breaking down of muscle mass?

I want to discuss this with my doctor, but are oral hormones more dangerous than injectable hormones. This is the article that spawned the question: http://www.trans-health.com/displayarticle.php?aid=63 Not for nothing, but I am in great health and I am clear for hormones. I just want to make sure that my transition is as safe as possible. I hate needles, but if its easier on the liver than I might want to change to that route. Is there anyone here that has taken pill form estrogen for many years? -Nikki ^_^

Hello everyone! My name is Julia it's wonderful to meet all of you. I'm a self proclaimed non-op. I just celebrated my three year anniversary of going full time as of the 11th of this month. I experimented with estrogen fairly heavily when I was around thirteen and on and off until early 2001 when I started doctor prescribed hormones and haven't been off of them since. I transitioned in Helena Montana which was "interesting" to say the very least. LOL! I'm a distance runner and love to run with my doggy every morning. I'm also an artist and work in watercolour, pastels, charcoal and coloured pencil. I have a varied taste in music ranging from industrial, ebm, darkwav…

okay...let's try this again. i had never done a poll on the forums before and it didn't come out as i expected. so...as i was sayin', in chat it seems that most FTMs prefer straight females for partners, and many MTFs seem to prefer females for thier partners. this has only been an observation based on the few i see in chat, so it may not be representative of the majority. also, thanks to kenny, i realized i left a choice out of the original poll/post. what's your preference for a partner in a relationship? 1. Straight men 2. Gay men 3. Straight women 4. Lesbian women 5. Bi-sexual female 6. Bi-sexual male 7. MTF (pre-op) 8. MTF (post-op) 9.…

i didn't wanna highjack the thread that the following came from...but felt it was worth discussion, so i brought it here. GirlInside was talking about how she pretty much keeps under wraps her feminine side when around men, and related how she stopped herself from saying something recently that might not have gone over well in a group of men: "That's just one example of how I am with men (not FTMs, of course). With women, I'm myself--much more feminine than with men--and I just let them figure it out." i find it astounding (and sometimes irritating) how often women -both genetic and TS- seem to think that FTMs "get" woman, that we understand them, or can relate t…

Hey everyone. I know the idea of talking hormones around here is a tad bit, um, touchy, but I was curious if anyone had any helpful insight on this issue. My friend who is in law school, and also a trans individual, has told me this is 'all in my head' or just completely unrelated to my taking spirotone. At any rate, about a week ago, last monday, I began taking spirotone (generic spiro anti androgen meds.) Now, the first concern I have is, ever since about the third or fourth day, anytime I take it, shortly after (sometimes it takes an hour, sometimes as quick as 15 minutes) I feel weird aching-like sensations in the, um, crotch area. It isn't specific to any ge…

So, it seems like things are going a little better with money lately and I was thinking of trying to open a discussion with my wife again and bring up the possibility of my starting hormones. We don't have any insurance whatsoever. Does anyone know how much I should expect to pay or if there are any online companies (legitimate) that would be cheaper than the local pharmacy?

I read this blog today and thought it was certainly worth sharing - Beth "I look at being trans as a blessing, not a curse. You think I wouldn't have loved to have been female from birth? Yes. Am I envious of younglings like Kim Petras and Jazz who either got to or are growing up as girls and have loving parents who helped them do so? Yes. You think I wouldn't love to go through a day without hearing about a transperson being disrespected or killed somewhere on the planet? Yes. You don't think that some days I would love to just be another 6'2" statuesque Black woman on the planet blithely going about her day and not having to constantly do hard solid thinking abou…

Hello All, I've been visiting the board lately but not posting much. There is lots of fascinating things going on around here. Though neither TS nor much into sports I am curious as to how the athletic world accepts trans-folk. Are there all sorts of 'roadblocks' to participation? Would a MtF be considered to have an unfair advantage? Either perceived or realistically? How do hormones figure into this? Do you have to be concerned about brittle bones as elderly GG? While several questions have been thrown out for starters, I'm hoping this thread will be used to address the topics of sports participation in general and go beyond these initial questions. Please f…

Wouldn't it be nice if transitioning could be as easy as walking into a costume shop? I was looking over the requierements for srs and was about ready to poo on the floor. I know what I want to do already. Replace the annoying dangler with something more comfertable that doesn't fall out of my panties. So, I have to get two schrinks to agree? "Yup this one shoulda been a girl years ago". I've gotta get hair removal? Then, if I still have enough money, pass the physical and didn't die of old age, maybe I'll get it done? My goodness. I'm just about ready to tie a rubber band around it like they do with goats. - Virginia -

I'm simply courious what you girls have found to be the most difficult asspects of transitioning, Is it the facts that you loose the friends you have known your entire life, Is it the facts that the good job you have worked your butt off to get and keep, only to loose because you are now someone that they cant trust with thier clients ( what would they think about this sort of thing ) Is it the facts that our relationships will be torn into shredds by the fact that our partners didn't get together with us to be with someone that is the same sex as they are, ( they are curious at first but it will end badly to all our dismay it does happen that way) or is it just the facts…

From what I have read and common sense indicates, some transsexuals are very fortunate in being quite passable, some transsexuals pursue various surgeries to become passable or more passable and some transsexuals know they will probably never be passable, but decide they must live as females anyway. Some transsexuals also eventually decide not to live full-time as a female and/or have SRS because they feel and perceive they can not be truly passable to an extent desired. I have wanted to pass as a female since about my mid 20's, but I have been too shy, passive and lacked self-confidence to try to pass in public as a female, many years before beginning female hormones. …

It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. The best part was the questionaire the nurse wrote out before we started. Have any of the women in your family had breast cancer? Have you yourself ever had any kind of cancer? Are you taking any hormones or birth control pills? I told her that I've been on estradiol for 2 1/2 years. What would you say was your approximate age when you had your first period? At this point I started to laugh. Then I told her that I'm transsexual. Oh! I couldn't tell. So you never had a period. I guess I don't need to ask the one about giving birth either. I'm sorry if the question was embarrasing. No, I didn't think it was e…

Hi Guys, Well, I'm really depressed at the moment. I was in family court today, what a disaster. My wife is moving to Cardiff ( 360 miles away ) I'm only allowed to see my children once a month ( for two days )when she moves down there, It's going to be almost impossible for me to travel down once a month as the fuel costs will be outrageous. It's a six hour drive a 12 hour round trip,I've been handed to the lions basically. She stated in a report which we both had to make that I sexually abused her, physically hit her when she was pregnant with my son, held a knife to her throat and tried to strangle her when she was pregnant, these of course are all lies. Hello everyone! I am new here and thought I should introduce myself. My name is Megan and I am a transexual woman living in Virginia. I have known all of my life who I am, but for the better part of 30 years was too afraid to embrace it for fear of hurting people I love. I still have that fear but am more afriad of what might happen if I continued to live a lie. Right now I am working with a therapist, having my facial hair removed, am newly active in a support group, hoping I will be given the okay to begin hormone therapy and living as a woman about 25% of the time. I am out to the people I am closest with and all have been more accepting and supportive th…

Well I'm at a very early stage in my transformation, and I'm not even sure if I want to go all the way. I gave out a few messages that I might be transsexual, and now, all of a sudden, I have guys touching me on the bum and stuff. I don't want to be overly aggressive, but these approaches are most unwelcome. Short of punching them in the face, and totally destroying the female persona I'm trying to develop, I'm unsure how to handle this. Advice please.
