  1. Hi All. I have allready done all the groundwork and reasearch for the topic Suicide. reasons and Rates of for transsexuals. This is for an online magazine on a transgendered web site. So I know you are all smart people. So I wondered if any of you know of any good research paers or articles I should read ? I have already a lot of material to draw upon, but the knowledge base for this subject is close to nil. Or the quantity of subjects/ individual's questioned or in any survey's are such a small number typically from 50 -500. This is a ridiculous number for a study. But there are difficulties such as the number of transwomen / Men who go stealth at some stage…

Hey everyone, I am a MTF transsexual but I cannot handle it, it is destroying my life. I am currently pre- everything, I have told my doctor and I am waiting for a referral to a gender therapist. This is just so so hard to live. I can't deal with the pain for much longer. I want to move away so I can be my true trans self but I am living in a small remote rural town and I just need to get away so I can be myself. I can't handle being a transsexual, I only found out I was a transsexual last year. Prior to that I had always thought I was male. This is so horrendous to deal with :'( Can anybody help me?

As most of you know, I'm just half a woman still living as a man. I have to watch myself very carefully not to expose myself. Most of the time I'm pretty good at it. but the other day I was changing clothes and my grandson came into the bathroom to ask me a question and I was totally caught off guard. He is 5 years old and the look on his face as he stared at my breasts completely caught me off guard. I immediately told him that I would be right out and closed the door. What do you I tell a 5 year old when he asks why does grandpa have boobs like grandma? Have any of you ever had to explain this to a child? Thank God he forgot all about it later. But what if he should c…

So, for the past year now, it seems, my sexual orientation has been slowly changing from queer to bi, if not straight... Simply put: I'm not interested in women like I used to be; I prefer the thought of being with a man nowadays. I had figured that I was bi from the ages of 14 to 18, which is when I realized that I'd never really been physically or sexually attracted to a man... I've always been emotionally attracted to them because they have what I lack: masculinity. I first noticed that that wasn't the case this last April when I decided to dance with a rather sweet guy I met at a mini concert at a local pub in Trinidad. (My mother and I visited to get a feel for th…

When thinking about passing in public the number one critic for years were children. I would get “the stare” and happy they did not say something like “mommy, (while pointing) is that a girl or a man?”. I never did get that done (the verbal aspect) to me but was in constant fear it would happen to me and everyone would stare at me. The reason for bringing this up is having to wait for a pizza tonight for about 15 minutes with a crowded Little Caesars with lots of parents and children, not one odd stare which is the norm now but had me revisit my past memories. Anyways thought it was worth bringing it up as I am sure most trans-people get this at least once or twice. Th…

"Back in the early 1990s, Chris Gary Bruce competed in male bodybuilding contests. He was good, but only up to a point... Bruce, a 42-year-old personal trainer living in San Diego, will get another chance to go for the gold on Oct. 29 at the Border States Classic Bodybuilding competition -- but this time, it will be as Chris Tina Bruce, and she will be competing as a woman." So like all of you I'm sure I have slowly been taking small steps before I finally decided that I needed to transition. It started with plucking my eyebrows, then I started shaving my legs and my armpits and any other nasty body hair I have, then started wearing a little makeup occasionally, all the while telling myself I wasn't a transsexual I just liked be a little more feminine. Well then it gets to that point where you realize that guys don't do any of this, and that you feel so much more comfortable being girly and you just want to be a girl. Well I'm writing because after finally getting to that point, and starting on a lowdose testosterone blocker, I'm at an int…

I am currently in the process of a career change and interviewing for jobs and I am looking to buy myself a nice pant suit. I have found one that I really like online, but I need specific measurements in order to get the right fit. For the suit I am looking at I need to provide measurements for bust, waist, high hips, and low hips, as well as height. The height part, of course, is easy, but what I am wondering is *where* exactly on my body I take the rest of these measurements, especially the ones for the hips? Also, should I take these measurements standing up or lying down? I have noticed there is a little bit of difference. I know these probably sound like dumb que…

  10. This is a test as described below. There are five levels that score between -650 which indicates male and 650 which indicates female. I think there were 60 plus questions. I scored 600 so it looks like I am on the right path. Before taking the test I suggest doing what I did, just take it, do not dwell over the answers but do carefully read each question. There is one question that is really something, I read it three times before responding. Would love to hear how you score and your thoughts on the scores. A unique test designed specifically for the uncertain pre-transitional Male-to-Female gender dysphoric. The first comprehensive gender dysphoria test, COGIATI …

I've kept my nature between only myself and my wife mainly because I've been so intent on making my marriage work by acting as a man. Things have gotten a lot better lately as communication has grown civil and two days ago, I finally came out to a friend of mine. Since then, I've let two other friends know and I know it's a cliche, but I feel like a weight has been lifted. I am going to see a therapist as soon as money is stable and, as much as I'm dreading it, I'm going to talk to my parents about it, too. Everything finally seems to be working out. I'm absolutely terrified of the social repercussions of transitioning, but it's what I need to do to be true to myself…

Those of you who know me are aware that I have been "out" everywhere except work. However, the past 3 weeks I have been coming out at work more and more. several months ago, I started wearing nail polish at work. A month ago, I got my ears pierced, and have been wearing the stud earrings all the time. For the last three weeks at work, I have been wearing eyeshadow, mascara, all girl clothes, I have been wearing jeans, blouses, panties, pantyhose, woman's shoes, bracelet, my cute dainty woman's watch, etc. Thursday I will take it yet another step and wear high heels, I have already advised a couple of people that I will be wearing high heels on Thursda…

I have to share this my comming out story. In the early years I got married twice to cover up my TG but always soon after, I got caught with woman's clothes that was my "stash" so to speak. Dressing as a girl gave me some relief as I could express my sexual idenity. Sometimes I got caught red handed. It all started when I was about 4 when I found out that my anatomy would not grow into a girl. I got abused because I got caught wearing my sister's cloths. On that day the coverup began. As I grew older, I still wore girl's cloths and wandered around at night in my neiborhood. At the time I didn't know there were other people like me that felt like a girl trapped in a boy's …

Over the past few weeks I have been presenting in my true female gender pretty much full time. Even when I'm tucked up in bed. I have told my landlord because he is also my neighbour and I didn't want him thinking I was doing something weird. Luckily he was totally cool about it. I have signed up for counseling at my local LGBT centre and for a course of life skills. I am also waiting for an appointment at the Gender Identity Clinic for assessment and hopefully hormones and maybe GRS. I am really getting to hate wearing male clothes for work and also not being honest with my family. I have been advised by the people at the LGBT centre to wait awhile before telli…

i didn't wanna highjack the thread that the following came from...but felt it was worth discussion, so i brought it here. GirlInside was talking about how she pretty much keeps under wraps her feminine side when around men, and related how she stopped herself from saying something recently that might not have gone over well in a group of men: "That's just one example of how I am with men (not FTMs, of course). With women, I'm myself--much more feminine than with men--and I just let them figure it out." i find it astounding (and sometimes irritating) how often women -both genetic and TS- seem to think that FTMs "get" woman, that we understand them, or can relate t…

I was a late bloomer and still to this day people think i am in grammer school. I can relate to females more then my fellow man. Sometimes i think to my self why i am not a female. i often find my self fantasizing on the possibility of being a women. So, it seems like things are going a little better with money lately and I was thinking of trying to open a discussion with my wife again and bring up the possibility of my starting hormones. We don't have any insurance whatsoever. Does anyone know how much I should expect to pay or if there are any online companies (legitimate) that would be cheaper than the local pharmacy?

I had a disturbing experience last night. I was following the US election on Twitter when I noticed that a T-girl I follow was getting abuse from a man that she had chided for his comment that he had 'voted for Romney because he is white'. This man started to send her a heap of vile transphobic abuse and got his troll friends to do the same. I decided that I would take some of the hate from her shoulders, as she was clearly upset, and told the man that he did not have the right to call anyone a 'tranny and hoe' ( I assume that means whore). Naturally I then became the target. 'oh are you a tranny to, I bet mines bigger than yours' along with a drawing of his penis. …

I'd like to hear some opinions on this. I told my parents I am FtM more than half a year ago. They still call me by my female name, talk about my life as though I lived like a girl, and discourage me when I'm talking about anything except seeing a psychiatrist (my mother really believes in therapy an all such things). I told my mother (very seriously) to call me by my male name after she'd called me by my female name when I had some new friends (who'd only ever heard my male name) with me when visiting her (she lets us use her apartment to party a little sometimes, it's a big apartment and she lives alone so she likes having people around). She "tried" for half a day,…
