About Me
So what would be relevant about me.... this may be long.
I'm 42, married, white, big (6'3, 250), heavily tattooed and heavily pierced(20 in my ears alone).
I'm laid back most of the time. I have my ups and downs like everyone, just way too often. I can be goofy or dead serious, whatever the situation calls for. I'm loyal if you are. I'm very cynical, and make jokes almost all the time about at least one thing. Often the jokes are crude and possibly somewhat inappropriate, but it's just my sense of humor. That can get annoying, I know, but I can't help it most of the time.
What I'm in to....
I'm a kinda weird collector. I collect Zippos and skulls. I have over 70 Zippos and over 60 skulls at the moment. For the Zippos, I really love the Anne Stokes collection. Her art is mind blowing. I'm also a big fan of Spazuk. That is some awesome art as well. With the Zippos, I'm currently focusing on collecting the Chinese zodiac series. They release one every year.
I'm obsessed with Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. I have virtually everything Johnny Depp has ever put out including interviews, and a hell of a lot of Tim Burton. I collect pretty much anything I can get my hands on when it comes to them. I have posters, autographs, clothes, bags, and all sorts of other stuff. The movies and whatnot that I have are almost sacred to me. I never let anyone borrow them. Not even my wife. If you want to see the movie in question, you have to come to my house and watch it with me. Something that blew my mind is in 2021, when I wrote Johnny Depp a fan letter. A couple weeks later I got a letter in the mail. The handwriting on the address looked really familiar. When I opened the letter there was an autographed Polaroid in it. When I looked back at the envelope I suddenly realized that he had cut the return address off the envelope that I had mailed his letter in and taped it to the envelope he replied in. I have that Polaroid and envelope framed. I never expected a reply, simply due to the massive amount of fan mail I assume he must receive. But the fact that he posed for a Polaroid, and then autographed it for me? >swoon<
I'm a hockey nut. My team is the Detroit Red Wings. Win or lose I will never abandon them. Obviously I'm bummed when we lose, but I still stand by them. I'm a Wings fan for life. Our last cup was 2008, so we're overdue for another. We lost a lot of our best players in the last few years from some retiring and others to injuries, but we're still the best team in the entire NHL, whether we take the cup or not. That is just a simple bone hard fact.
I'm also obsessed with music. I have literally a little bit of everything except opera, jazz, and reggae. I hate opera, and I've just never really been exposed to jazz and reggae. So for that reason I never got into either. I have nothing against them, since I have no basis to form an opinion. I just don't know hardly anything about either. I do however want to say that I love the sound of a steel drum.
As for what I listen to mostly, it's metal. Disturbed is my absolute favorite band. Their music is just awesome. Some other bands I like are Linkin Park, Citizen Soldier, Static-X, Hatebreed, Devil Driver, Arch Enemy, Rammstein, 6 Feet Under, Them, Dimmu Borgir, Broken Hope, Breaking Benjamin, Amaranthe and LOTS more. Plus I absolutely love 80's rock. It is after all, what I grew up on. Besides everyone knows that music attained perfection in 1986. It's a scientific fact. Also, I like a lot of underground rap as well.
As for religious beliefs, I'm polytheistic and Satanic. I pay homage to the Greek Gods and Goddesses. I serve Aphrodite directly. She is the Goddess of love and beauty. One room in my house is a temple of Hers. Most people want to know why I'm not Christian. In a nutshell, I was raised Roman Catholic, but all we were taught at mass and in Sunday school was to hate everything that was different from ourselves. So I lost faith in that very early on. Also I was excommunicated when I was 3 for asking a question about their god.
I'm a card carrying member of The Satanic Temple (TST). TST is a very active org in seeking equal rights for all, but have met a lot of opposition simply because it's a Satanic organization. But if someone were to read our tenets, they might learn something and see that Satanism does not mean evil.
I love movies. I'm mostly a horror nut. I used to be a drama nut, and still am, but horror has replaced drama as my favorite genre. But drama is nipping if horror’s heels. After that would be fantasy, action, sci-fi, and last of all comedy. I don't enjoy comedy much. They are mostly just abstract craziness and not at all entertaining. That's not to say I don't have any comedy movies. They are mostly Adam Sandler and Mike Meyers. But I do want to say that I absolutely LOVE stand up. I also have some TV series on DVD. Law And Order SVU, The Universe, 21 Jumpstreet, and assorted others. You may laugh at this but I also have the entire series of Fraggle Rock on DVD. And yes, I do watch it. I actually have Gobo Fraggle tattooed on my leg. Between my wife and me we have at least 600 movies. Too blippitty bloopitty many. We really need to get rid of a lot of them.
I love video games. I'm mostly into the old classic stuff. Mainly cartridge systems such as Atari 2600, Colecovision, NES, SNES, N64, & Sega Genesis. I do play a few PS1 & PS3 games though. FF8 & God Of War nut here. My gaming interests stick mainly to the wizards and warriors type stuff. Fantasy or mythological kind or games. The Legend Of Zelda is a longtime favorite. Castlevania too. I spend a lot of time on my Switch and have well over 100 DDL's on it. I'll never go without as long as I have it. >eye roll< As it sits at the current moment, I have developed an obsession with Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2). I play it on my PS5, and can't get away from it. The game has so much content and offers so much, it blows my mind. I also love watching videos about it on YouTube.
I like to learn foreign languages. I have Rosetta Stone for Spanish, French, and German. Right now I'm TRYING to teach myself Spanish, but thinking I may switch to German since it's part of my heritage to learn it first. I'm going to wait on French until after I learn Spanish and German. It may be a long while though. I never knew that learning a second language was so damn hard. I'm searching for someone who could teach me Scottish Gaelic, as that is the vast majority of my heritage, and have talked to a few people on a few different forums, but so far no one has been able to take on the teaching. I have been provided links, but due to how I learn, they haven't been much help. I'm more than willing to pay for the lessons, but no luck so far.
I'm an amateur writer. I have written 2 full length novels, and a few short stories. All of them are still in the editing phase, except the shorts. I also have a lot of unconventional poetry written. But that I tend to keep to myself, unless I know you really well and am foolish enough to think I can trust you. My wife has read a bit of what I've written, but not too much of it. It's mostly genres she's not really into. I've also written the lyrics for 3 songs. I'm trying to find a guitar player to write some music to go with them.
I like to tinker with web design. I know HTML fully but that's the only scripting language I know. But with sticking to that, I'm still somewhat good. I can make a fairly decent website on that alone. For an amateur. I know how to manipulate a prewritten Javascript code, but I don't know how to write my own Javascript.
I have a pretty decent home office set up, where I spend the vast majority of my time.
I'm also a YouTube addict. I spend way too much time on there. I've uploaded some videos to each of my channels. Initially, I didn't realize I even had a channel until I got a notification saying I had a new subscriber. Scooby say HURF? My wife wants me to upload videos about Kenny from South Park. I can understand almost everything he says, no problem, so she wants me to make a video, clearing up and identifying what he's saying. So as soon as I can figure out how to isolate clips of him, here we go. I also have a second channel where I mostly just tell stories about crazy stuff that has happened to me from my past, and crazy thoughts I have. I also make up stuff that my wife says should be a standup routine, that's posted on there. It's basically a comedy channel.
My wife and I are creating a gaming channel together. We have a couple random videos up just to have something on the channel, but they're not really anything special. I even had to subscribe to it with my main account, just so I could find it since it was all but impossible to find. Now, it's perfectly easy to find if you know the name.
Well, I can't think of much else to say about myself at this point. So if you're curious just ask. I'm an open book. Within reason of course.
