So many heavy topics here lately. I wish I could contribute in some way but there's not much I can do besides add an online sympathy note. So... if you want to read about someone else's frivelous plans for a small distraction, read on... Myself and the neighbor lady are going out for a pedicure today to relax and decompress. At the very least, I'm going to get clear polish. There is the usual temptation to get some color too, along with the usual hesitation about possible negative attention. Afterwards -- cheescake! Then we might go shopping a bit as she tries to find something for her bf. Maybe we'll have time for a make-up lesson too? I'm going out in mostly male…

I've appreciated the Forum thread "Questions From Spouses/Significant Others Of A Person Who Identifies As A Transgender Person Or Is A Transitioning Transsexual" and started thinking it might be interesting to gather a list of questions that we deal with. Maybe some are ones you already have answers for - great! I'd like to also know those. I probably just haven't thought of them yet. But more than just the questions, what are your thoughts and answers? I'd very much like to hear your perspectives. The questions below are in no particular order; I grouped them a little and hope that helps: On Being Transgender - Am I really transgender? The reason I ask myself t…

there have been many posts about various TG/TS-themed movies...i've seen a few, some okay, some not so okay. some of you may know that i'm not a real big fan of these movies. today...i saw "bicentennial man" for the first time. if you have seen this movie, you're probably scratching your head and saying, that was no TG/TS movie! you are right...it is not a TG/TS-themed movie. but this movie seemed to speak to me more than any such film ever has. robot andrew martin's struggle to first become free, and then to become recognized as human seems so much like my own dreams - first to transition, and then to be recognized as a man. thru his life, no matter how huma…

Ok, so its not really relative to anything with gender or our usual topics of convo, but I just wanted to alert everyone that the new Fall Out Boy CD is out and anyone who appreciates a good voice, let me warn you, Patrick Stump (their vocalist) is a voice thats as close to God as anyone will hear. Everyone should give it a listen!

Hey everyone I don't know if you read my blog but if you haven't you should so you can get a feel about who I am as I sorta dont wanna spam it here But, anyways, I wanted to post something and I do not mean to offend any other person who is not Christian. It isn't my intent and I want to apologize beforehand if I do. Long story short, I have been a children's minister in a fundamentalist church pretty much since I graduated Bible College in 1999. I'm 35 and when I told my wife of 10 years that I was transgender, I am transgender I will always be transgender and that I felt like I have always been a girl in my soul, she pretty much took our children and left me …

Last night we were hanging out with some friends who were talking about how they periodically have "girls-only" and "boys-only" parties. They send the guys over to one house to do as they will (commonly, I understand, this has to do with drinking and watching kung fu movies). The girls to go another house to do as they will (apparently this involves a lot of cooking and watching movies of some sort, I don't know). Now I'm not super comfortable with either one of those things, but nothing says I have to participate. But they expressed an interest (as did my wife) in hosting one of these parties, of course the girls' one. This really put me in a sticky situation because …

Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer. I'm 29 years old and I've been living as my true self since Christmas. I guess you could say it was a wonderful Christmas present to myself. It seems that all of my major moments have happened on extraordinary days, but I didn't intend it to be that way. The day that I finally decided that I was going to be true to myself was July 4th. Independence Day now has a much greater significance to me. :)

I have spent the last year truly pondering my GID and what it means to me. I have had many dreams through the years and some opportunities have just simply past. The early fanatasies of turning into a little girl can never be. Having a little girl body, wearing pretty girl things, slumber parties, and roller skating and ice skating, just aren't going to happen. Having everyone see me as pretty in pink and being adored at parties, is one for that early age. The young sweet face that draws all the young men to dream and desire me is a thing of the past. Being a Cheerleader and Prom Queen just aren't going to be there either. Being a teenage girl has past, as well as …

i have an important question i wanted to ask you all and i need honest opinions on it. i have been for quite sometime pondered starting my own gofundme account to raise money for my SRS. the problem im running into is that social security wont allow me to recieve checks since im on SSI. i want to do this but im unsure if anyone would ever donate to it and such. my goal is to try to accomplish the srs within 2 years if i can.....4 years tops. one idea i came up with was have the check sent to the doctor who ive picked to do the SRS and that would get around the whole cashing the check part. do you all think i should take this chance and see what happens...or do you think …

Transgender people: 10 common myths Edited by German Lopez Mar 25, 2016, 12:00p "The most pervasive myth about transgender people — and the one myth that underpins much of the discrimination they face — is that they're somehow confused or actively misleading others by identifying with a gender different from the one assigned to them at birth." -vox.com

Hi guys. I’ve just joined here. I think I may be trans. I was born female. But I don’t feel like I am. I’ve came out to a few friends etc and started dressing more like how I feel on the inside. But then I started dressing back to the way I use to. Thing is. I’m 31 almost 32. And I don’t know I feel like I’m too old to transition. And plus I have two children and I’m terrified how it’ll affect them. Plus I know my ex will go mental if he found out. As he was very abusive towards me to begin with in our relationship so god knows how he’d react to this. My family would disown me. I’m just absolutely terrified. Anyone else on here was or is in the same position I am now? I’d…

I am mad at myself. I have had this lumpy, rollypolly, extremely gross wad of waist fat that i promised myself I would lose in time for summer. well guess what, it aint gone, not even a small amount of the wad is gone. i have had some stress, i currently have one of my sweet rescue dogs in final stage kidney disease, i love her so much, she is not ready to be put down but i know it is coming. so i soothe myself with food, what an ass i am. i know dang well that me stuffing my face isnt going to help with her kidneys, so why do i do it. I am hopeless. So here it is getting beautiful outside, sunny and 70's, baseball games, vacations, and i had to go to Kohl's and buy…

Hey all. I am very interested in music, I have been all my life. I thought this was kinda funny and thought i'd share, I was listening to a song that I have listened to probably thousands of times before and for the first time I thought to myself that it sounded like what we go through when we're struggling with our GID and haven't told anyone yet. :-) Anyone else had any experiences like that? the Song i'm refering to is "Jane Doe by Within temptation" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFswItQAKR0 :-D The lyrics are below Why, you just won't leave my mind Was this the only way I couldn't let you stay Run away, hide away the secrets in your mind S…

My apologies in advance for this post being so long.... I read a couple of posts today on a thread which I would have dearly liked to have added my comments. But those comments might have alienated the individual who started the thread. And then too, occasionally, there are differing opinions when it comes to the topic. I think also, as I get older, and the more I read about the intolerant people in the world, the less patient I am with those who "don't do their homework," so-to-speak. Growing up, I was often asked if I didn't ever want a sister. And no - I did not want one. I knew quite a few (both boys and girls) who had sisters, and from the horror stories I…

In another thread (or two...) we've talked about brain researchers looking for differences that would help indicate or perhaps objectively diagnose/confirm one's being transgender. This (below) is a little dated (July 1, 2016) but provides some information I found very interesting and informative: Why Are Some People Transgender?

I look for them; there are many!!! I try to ignore and distance myself from the negative.

I didn't want to just intrude on Stella' post guilt of breaking up family so I just posted a new one. I heard that one of my neices encountered my ex the other day and that she was trying to find out things without actually asking her any direct questions. My niece knew what she was doing and just told her that if she had something to ask to ask.Apparently she's still hung up 3 years later. She asked my niece how my folks could support me in what I'm doing. My niece told her that we were a loving family, which really made me feel good. I told my mom she's probably upset because she lost her meal ticket. She was pretty lazy about doing anything. And as I told my mom awhil…
