Hey everyone, I've been away from the boards for awhile do to the move across the states, finding a new job (argh), and starting hormones, etc... Chest is healing really well. I just started using "scar zone and it seems to be working. I massage it on twice a day/once in the morning and once at night before bed. I massage the cream in for approx. 2-3 minutes. The left side is looking pretty good compared to the right side. The right side is going to be stubborn!! lol Anyway, the scarring on the left side started disappearing before I started using Scar Zone so that is a good thing!!! I have been revealing in my new found identity with packing and asking people to call me by a different name and binding. I have loved it. What I did not see coming was that summer meant swimming and bathing suits. I love swimming. I live near both a pool and the ocean and I love playing with my kids. I taught swimming for several years during high school and college. I just do not know what to do. I have literally no women’s clothes left that I wear. NONE. What the heck do you guys do to go swimming? I can’t pack and I can not bind. I feel so exposed. I hope some one has some ideas. Christopher :o

in the FTM Contacts, a thread was begun by a lesbian looking to meet FTMs for freindship and "possible more." [sic] this naturally morphed into a debate that branched into several directions...sorta like a bramble bush - all over the place... LOL. but i digress. this "contact" thread had been dormant for quite sometime when a rather intriguing statement was made. well...intriguing to me. might be to others...dunno. so i brought the statement here to the discussion area to see what comes of it. read on ....

I haven't posted here for a while. Been transitioning since 2003. It's been a tough road...transitioning in the same place , same job, family and friend opposition. But, today, I feel like the end is in sight. Talked to my Dad today. A person that has never accepted my transition. And, in our conversation, my dad said, "I wish i could be the man you are. You are a good man." Wow.. I can't even put into words how great that feels. Been a long time waiting for. I've been thinking about this for a while. I've read a bunch of stories about straight FTMs who lived as lesbians and identified themselves as butch (or at least were part of a lesbian communitY) before realising they were trans. I'm mostly gay. I like girls too, but guys more. And the thing is, even before I realised I was trans I thought of my feelings towards men as sort of queer. I didn't know why, because I didn't identify myself as a man at the time, but all my fantasies about guys were gay, about guys on guys with guys. I was never in them, at least not as my self. So, I don't know if any of you have heard about it, but there's a magazine called FTM Magazine, I'm friends with the Editor who also created the Self Made Men site. When I went to the gender conference in Harrisburg PA, he wanted my story about being a transgender christian, and happily enough that my story was in the july edition.

Hey, My name is ty, I'm a 19 years of FTM college student. I recently just re-bursted out of the closet i was forced back into last year. I'm the president of my schools Gay-Straight alliance and Black Students Union... Because I just came out, the school is unaware of me being transgender, Should I let my teachers for next semester know of my Pronouns and preferred name before the semester starts, Via Email? I want next semester to be awesome and in order for me to do that I need everyone to know me for who I am.

On 11/8/2011 I officially had my name changed from my birth name to Alexander along with a totally different middle and lastname. I cant believe how simple and easy that was. I didnt even have a real reason prepared. When the judge asked, I just stated that I didnt like the name i had, and he granted my request. Thats so awesome.

I recently found out from an FtM I know that even after being on T for a long time, he still has periods of a sort. I guess it's logical that of you still have ovaries, you can have a period, but this is not something I have ever thought about, so I was kind of taken by surprise. I mean this guy has a male voice, pimples and the beginnings of a beard. What kind of experience do you guys have?

Hey fellas, Does anyone know the effects of moderate drinking on testosterone? I drink about twice a month, but I'm wondering if it's somehow inhibiting my transition. My endocrine hasn't returned my email regarding this question. If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it. Thanks, DS

HI! I'm pretty new here. I have so many questions...But I figured Id start with something lighthearted and different. For those of you who have changed their names, where there any nicknames that you kept after changing? Any that you didn't want to give up? My family calls me "em" (shortened form of my birth name) and I really like it; but I know its not the alternative to changing my name. What did you guys do? find new nicknames? or keep them?

Anyone have a favorite binder or compression shirt? I’ve tried gc2b but they didn’t work. I have back problems and couldn’t keep it on for more than an hour without extreme pain.
