A question to all the pre-op guys here. When you see your naked body, do you think of it as female? I used to, but I don't any more. I figured that if I am a man, I can't have a female body. it can't be famle because it's the body of a man. I now think of myself as a handikappad man born without penis - some people are born without legs, I think that would be worse. Or being blind.. that's my worst nightmare. I have been revealing in my new found identity with packing and asking people to call me by a different name and binding. I have loved it. What I did not see coming was that summer meant swimming and bathing suits. I love swimming. I live near both a pool and the ocean and I love playing with my kids. I taught swimming for several years during high school and college. I just do not know what to do. I have literally no women’s clothes left that I wear. NONE. I am going for my hysto in two weeks. My hormone doctor told me that I would get even more effect from the testosterone once my ovaries are removed. I should have asked him this at the time but.. The thing is I really don't want more effects from T. I've already been on it for two years, I'm stable and I like the way I am now. So, does anyone know if it's OK to reduce your dose of T after having hysto?

I want to get the opinion of other FTM's on this. I'm 29, I've never had sex and never really been comfortable with the idea. When I first discovered I was trans, I thought this must be because of the gender dysphoria - makes perfect sense, right? Except that I'm getting to the point in my transition now (on T 2 years, had chest surgery) where that's not an excuse anymore... I recently found out from an FtM I know that even after being on T for a long time, he still has periods of a sort. I guess it's logical that of you still have ovaries, you can have a period, but this is not something I have ever thought about, so I was kind of taken by surprise.
