  1. My wife sent me this link earlier. If you go there you can check the status and it will give you an estimated date on when you will receive yours. She got the date on hers, but for me it said Payment Status Not Available. But I also don't file taxes due to my disability status. Either way it's worth a peek to get an idea when your checks are coming. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment

Nothing can ever replace a loved one. We know that. But we have also heard many times that when you lose a pet, getting another one can help you through. Adrianne wanted me to ask what everyone here thinks. Should we get another puppy? She's worried about the other dogs not liking the pup. She doesn't want to stress them out. But we know that adding another member to the family can be healthy.

In my humble opinion, EVERY member of Congress (and Senate for that matter) should be fired! They are an embarrasment to the constituencies they allegedly represent and rehensible to all Americans. Besides shutting the governement down, they want to get the US in a war with Syria. They do not talk about the 18 million children who go to bed hungry every night, the seniors (18-20 million) who really struggling, the one million homeless veterans, and the financial crises they and their cronies on Wall Street put us in. I could go on but it may take a lifetime to mention them all. I do have some solutions but telling them is like talking to the wall.

  5. A couple weeks ago, I saw an article about Intel, and the fact that the company would no longer be donating to the Boy Scouts of America because of the organization's anti-gay policies. I considered posting about it...but changed my mind after finding other news stories that I thought might have been of more interest. Come to find out (if I had read the article rather than just glancing at the headline), Intel -BSA's largest corporate donor- apparently only backed off after activist Zack Wahls gathered more than 30,000 signatures on a Change.org petition. Wahls is now going after UPS considering they have a 100% rating on the HRC Corporate Equality Index. Read t…

  6. Does anyone know if there’s some kind of bug going around? I caught something last night and haven’t been this sick in forever. I’ll spare you the details, but needless to say, there’s a bug butt that needs some stomping.

http://www.examiner.com/article/florida-teen-fights-expulsion-and-criminal-charges-for-same-sex-relationship As the summer of 2012 came to an end, the future looked bright for 17-year-old Sebastian River High School senior Kaitlyn Hunt. Voted the student with "Most School Spirit" by her peers, Kaitlyn was an active cheerleader, a basketball player, a camp counselor and cheering coach, and a medical assistant training to join the nursing program at Valencia College after graduation. She looked forward to a career helping others and a memorable final year of high school. At the beginning of the school year, Kaitlyn made friends with a 14-year-old freshmen girl in Seba…

Not sure if any of you have ever done a search of the number one song when you graduated high school? I just did...and the number one song back then was John Denver, "Thank God I'm a country boy." How prophetic!

  10. I'm trying make a logo for a YouTube channel that I'm wanting to start, but I need to be able to do some animation that is apparently beyond the capabilities of anything that comes as part of Windows 10. I'm making another one of those channels going over reddit posts. So I'm wanting to make a video of a rat walking up to a red R/ and then tearing it apart, since in essence that's what I will be doing on the channel. The problem is, that the Win10 3D programs SUCK. So does anyone know a good one?

The commentary is by a gay contributor, about gay people...but throughout the commentary, the word "gay" can easily be replaced by "trans." -Mike Barb Hamp Weicksel - SDGLN Contributor, February 5th, 2013 "There was a whole lot of discussion in our home this week about whether or not we have the right – or as some would say – the responsibility -- to “out” someone. Is this something we in the gay community are required to do? And are we especially required to do it when the person in question is a closeted gay and works against the gay community?" --Weicksel, sdgln.com COMMENTARY: Given the chance, would you or could you “out” someone?

I'm in talks with the Canadian government seeking asylum, and once I have the money saved up, I'm going to fly into Ottawa to speak directly to them. I talked with the Canadian Embassy in Washington, and he told me that to seek asylum, I have to actually be in Canada. So I was wanting to see what I could find out from any Canadian members that we have here.

I found the following in a radio station blog I like to read and I had to share it with you. This ad was placed in the Personal column of a newspaper. To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last. Dated: 05-27-09, 1:43 AM EST I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on my girlfriend, threatening our lives and me. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message. First, I'd like to apologize for your embarassment when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. The evening …

Murphy's Law is a given in computer programming. Over my career, I have summarized -- The Laws of Software Engineering Anything is possible Especially the f**kups Nothing is every easy Nothing is ever good enough Nothing is ever done I also often say that 80% of my job is to outsmart Murphy. I work nights. So at 10 pm last night I was outside having my morning coffee. And where I live, the sky was so clear that the stars were amazing. I even saw something that I have only seen once before. An exploding star. So, when I got my head out of the stars, I looked down, and standing about 4 feet away is a skunk. Kind of looking at me as if to say, "what are you staring at?" Knowing skunks do not have great eye sight, I stood up and told him, " Hey buddy, not so close." He took off and made for the back lawn. Oh the hazards of a bright sky.

Does anyone here have Hulu? If so do you have problems with it? We have it, and it never works right. It literally glitches every few seconds, and IF we can get any kind of image on the screen we consider ourselves lucky. It has never worked once since we got it. Adrianne's mother subscribed to it for a reason that I simply can't find and we each have a profile on there. We also have Netflix, and have no problems with it. But it doesn't have the TV shows I want to watch on it. SO if you have Hulu and it works for you, then for the love of the Gods tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong.

And telephone calls too... Just Getting It Off My Chest Dept. This morning sitting in our neighborhood coffee shop enjoying (what else?) my coffee and catching up on news of the day, when a man at a nearby table says into his laptop, "Okay, can you hear me okay?" Sure, yes, I heard him Just Fine. Thankfully a woman nearby turned to me and rolled her eyes. She encouraged me to say something with "I can't stand this either, would you mind telling him?" I stood and told him that I didn't come here to listen to conference calls. Oh, but he didn't hear me because of his Bose noise-canceling ear buds. Eventually I got through and we proceeded to have the quick discuss…

I changed my number about a month and a half ago. After I changed it I started getting calls from literally all over the world. Colombia, Peru, Canada, Tuvalu, and virtually every state in the US. Also someone stole my number to use on their Facebook account. I finally got tired of it, and went back and changed it again, hoping the problem would stop. I even got a new sim card installed. It didn't help. I'm still getting these calls. With the first change I was thinking that, due to where a lot of the calls were coming from, it was an old number that was previously associated with someone involved in drug running. I've been there and never want to go back. This newest num…

So my Dad is a veteran. He is 85 and relies on having a visiting nurse help him out and the maid service that they also provide. Now he finds out that the government is cutting those services. He has no idea if or when anyone will show up. Also, this government has cut funding for Section 8 housing. So now, people that can't afford rent, have to come up with more money. (Guess they could stop eating.) And now Obama wants to cut the yearly cost of living increase for people on Social Security. All this while both the president and vice-president take million dollar vacations every month. On tax dollars of course. I find this sickening!!

Fable of the Porcupine It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions. After awhile, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone…
