Back when I was in high school, I always wanted to get into photography. Been thinking about making that happen for a while. Anyway, after 10 years on the same job, I was given a gift book and told to choose my prize. Selected an item made by Bushnell. It's a combo binoculars/digital camera. Received it in the mail the other day. Used my last few bucks to buy batteries and a memory card. So, hoping to get up onto the Connecticut river next weekend. Maybe get some pics of the eagles and other raptures that nest there. Psyched!

I came across this posting on Medium (which I love) this morning: https://medium.com/productivity-in-the-cloud/6-links-that-will-show-you-what-google-knows-about-you-f39b8af9decc I think it's valuable to know that Google (and of course, FB, Yahoo, and all the rest) are tracking our every move. I don't worry much about it but here again, good to be aware. Emma

  6. If I had any marbles left I'd be looking for them instead, but this isn't the problem. I have a song lyric stuck in my head, and no matter what I do, it keeps repeating itself, over and over. I've tried listening to music, watching videos, playing video games, playing with my babies, and everything else I can think of. Nothing works. I'm about to paint a target on the wall and try running head first into it. Well, wheelchairing head first, but to hell with semantics. I also have a cast iron skillet. It's cold out and raining, so maybe a "polar plunge" would do the trick? It's not exactly December anymore, but it's still colder than a well diggers butt out there. And I hav…

This appears like a good test http://www.kgw.com/s...tness/24076407/ If you first just read the article it sounds like "what the heck", does this really give an idea on if you will live five years more. Watch the video and note that many had issues completing it. I was not going to try it as I do similar actions when teaching but did it anyways, perfect 10.

  10. Started by KarenPayne,

Check out http://myvfcover.com/ which you can see the results below, not perfect but we are talking about a little bit of fun. I did not worry about the fact my head is partly lost in the title either.

  11. I'm trying make a logo for a YouTube channel that I'm wanting to start, but I need to be able to do some animation that is apparently beyond the capabilities of anything that comes as part of Windows 10. I'm making another one of those channels going over reddit posts. So I'm wanting to make a video of a rat walking up to a red R/ and then tearing it apart, since in essence that's what I will be doing on the channel. The problem is, that the Win10 3D programs SUCK. So does anyone know a good one?

The US is one of only 3 countries in the world that still uses the imperial system. The other two being Myanmar and Liberia. In 1975 President Ford tried to switch the US to using the metric system, but it didn't take. I personally can't follow metric very well, but like many of you it's simply because I grew up under the imperial system. But my reason for this post, is I want to know what people think on whether or not the US should again try to switch to metric? I feel like it's time to join the rest of the world. 3 countries out of how many hundreds of countries? I think it would make international trade much simpler, and could help American economies in a substantial …

  13. My wife sent me this link earlier. If you go there you can check the status and it will give you an estimated date on when you will receive yours. She got the date on hers, but for me it said Payment Status Not Available. But I also don't file taxes due to my disability status. Either way it's worth a peek to get an idea when your checks are coming. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment

  14. Why would she do this you ask? Because Lyin' Boebert is more concerned with protecting guns than she is children. She's lower than a snakes belly in a wagon rut. I know it's not LGBTQ+ related, but I still felt this is something needed to be seen by everyone. There is brief strong language in the video, which is why I wanted to share the link instead of embed it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsGczbMkTmA

As most of you know, I have been helping out my Dad for a while now. I finally realize you can't help someone that refuses to help themselves. For a while my dad has been saying he needs more care. I asked him if he would allow me to look into assisted living. he said no. at the same time, he keeps telling all his nurses, doctors and social workers from the VA that he needs 24/7 care. I finally put it on the table today. Told him if he needs 24/7 care I will look into assisted living if he wants me too. Otherwise he can just keep playing the game he is playing and he will find himself in a place he does not want to be. A nursing home. And once the VA steps In, …

There's a channel I subscribed to this past week, that I think everyone needs to start watching. It's not a transgender channel. The channel is Mr Nightmare. He's not a creepypasta channel or anything like that. The videos he makes are creepy but they're different. They are true stories of things people have experienced in all different situations. Things from delivering pizzas, to Instagram, to road trips, to staying in and watching Netflix. The reason I think people need to see his channel is to use it as a warning of what could happen in what you do in your everyday life. Things you take for granted could turn deadly in an instant. Things that don't even enter our mind…

I don’t know who all has heard about this, but a couple days ago a tourist sub taking 5 tourists down to the Titanic in the Atlantic Ocean imploded killing all of them. One was a 19 year old kid, and another was the CEO of the company that organizes these deep sea tours. If I remember right anyway. They were reportedly only about 1600 feet from the bow when it happened. They had lost all contact with the surface prior to the implosion. But as they descended there was some kind of unnoticed fault in their submersible and in a nanosecond they were all dead. The pressure at those depths would compress a full grown human into an object the size of a marble. They were all dead…

http://www.examiner.com/article/florida-teen-fights-expulsion-and-criminal-charges-for-same-sex-relationship As the summer of 2012 came to an end, the future looked bright for 17-year-old Sebastian River High School senior Kaitlyn Hunt. Voted the student with "Most School Spirit" by her peers, Kaitlyn was an active cheerleader, a basketball player, a camp counselor and cheering coach, and a medical assistant training to join the nursing program at Valencia College after graduation. She looked forward to a career helping others and a memorable final year of high school. At the beginning of the school year, Kaitlyn made friends with a 14-year-old freshmen girl in Seba…

Saw my Dad today, and I love to hear him talk about how things were when he was growing up. I think about how much history is being lost because the old stories are not being passed down or people are too busy to listen. My Dad was telling me about a relative that had a big farm on the border between Vt and Canada. How he used to take a big horse team through the woods into Canada, load up with booze and then bring it into VT and NH to sell. And how the local sheriff used to try to catch him. I enjoy hearing all those stories.

Anyone else here a writer? I love to write. As it sits I've finished 2 full length novels, a few short stories, and a lot of unconventional poetry. I have my books and shorts uploaded on my website. Well one is taken down at the moment because I'm rewriting a big part of it. I've never liked that part of the story since the day I wrote it. Why I kept it, I don't have a clue. The two books are wildly different. The one that's taken down is called Crimson Tears. If you're familiar with S.E. Hinton's works you'll know the style of the story. The other book is called Satans Infernal Nation. It's about a Devil worshiping cult. The protagonist of the story is recruited into the…
