  2. Guido Barilla thought he had troubles before with his anti-gay comments....now, rival company Bertolli takes advantage of the situation, and advertises "pasta and love for all!" I wonder what Barilla would think of transpeople??

I'm considering getting a tarantula. My question is, has anyone here had a tarantula? What species did you have? How was its temperament? Was it comfortable being handled? What was its habitat setup? Pretty much anything you can tell me. Also my biggest question, is what species you would recommend for a first timer. I've been reading at http://www.tomsbigspiders.com and there's a great list of suitable species for beginners. There's a few I like, but I want to see what those that have had them have to say. I had a scorpion when I was a teenager, and know how to handle them. But even though they are both arachnids, that's like comparing a dog and a bird. So any advic…

Well, I was out shopping in snugg-ish jeans, a pretty blue casual top, and ballet wedges (a one inch wedge), and topping it off with a blue cross-body purse and my makeup. This is an every day style for me. One that garners the odd kook from people on the buss or in a restaurant. From the few stares or light snickers I get (and which I brush off), I assume I don't pass. Soooo I was out playing my favorite sport, (shopping even if I can't afford to buy anything). With a handful of things to try on, I headed to the dressing room. I expected the usual- being handed the number card and shown towards the men's side,. But to my surprise, the lady said, "this way miss" and …

I've been trying to keep up with what's going on, as I'm sure many of you are as well. It's unimaginable to me that a man, who was welcomed at the door, would walk in and kill 49 innocent people who were simply praying. He was an admitted white supremacist, which is sickening. He chose Christchurch for some reason, that I still don't get. I've tried finding his manifesto, so that maybe I could figure out why, but I'm guessing it's been removed from the net. But what kind of sick monster would do this? Did the church attack him and he was taking revenge? No. He was and is a twisted loser. There's even a YouTuber telling people to shut up when they say "prayers and thoughts…

  10. 22 hours ago ""The derogatory comments I made yesterday were a reflection of thoughts in my head, but they are not how I feel," Culliver said in a statement." --sports.yahoo.com Niners CB says openly gay players would not be welcomed on the team ____________________________ While Culliver's statements were inappropriate, it appears that he was being egged on by Artie Lange. The article crucifies Culliver, but says nothing about Lange. -Mike

Do you ever find yourself in a new locale and kinda bored with the tourist fare. I sure am. I was delighted when, some years back, I accidentally found and explored the Catacombs in Paris. What a totally cool and unexpected find. I recently heard on NPR about this awesome website called Atlas Obscura, which lists thousands of such things that you can locate near your home or wherever you're traveling: http://www.atlasobscura.com/ In case your interested, here's their posting on the Catacombs. Spooky when walking around by yourself as I was, but it's a fond memory I have forever: http://www.atlasobscura.com/places/catacombes-de-paris

  12. For some years it's been clear to me that the fundamental problem we face is over-population. No matter how much we are successful at conservation of resources, recycling, emissions control, as long as the population continues to grow any such conservation measures will be overtaken. It's a very difficult multi-faceted and geopolitical problem and no one really knows what to do to solve it. But like so many things we need to awareness and focus. This book has text and photos that cannot be ignored: https://populationspeakout.org/the-book/view-book/ Emma

So asking for some positive energy...prayer ....whatever works for you. My 14 year old dog, who is the love of my life, suffered a stroke on Thursday. His left legs are very weak. He turns out his left front leg to the point it looks like it should break. I have been told he is not in pain. I did just give him a warm bath and massage. That seemed to help. It's times like this that I wish I had a support system

Last night, 3 of my little guys died. My wife cranked up the space heater full blast in the computer room where they were and didn't tell me about it. The heat killed 3 of them. The only one that survived was Money. He's devastated. He was curled up with Spook trying to wake him up. I'm heartbroken. There's going to be a funeral later today for them.

  18. I don’t know if anyone already knew this, but I just found out that Chuck Norris is HEAVILY bigoted against the entire LGBTQ+ community. He thinks we’re all sick deviants. After finding this out, I am getting rid of everything I have that he is in. I used to love Walker Texas Ranger. No more can I bring myself to watch it. In my opinion? HE is the sick 🤬

OH my turtles I need the clock to move faster and Nikki to get home. I really really need hugs. So on top of the passing yesterday I'm dealing with, I get to work already kinda shaky and stomach ill, and I say good morning to big boss every day as I pass him and he looks up at me and says in a weirdly sympathetic voice "I understand you had an interesting evening last night". And I'm comletely freaked out. My brain is going "HOw did he know he died? Wait, did he find out about Nikki? Or is he talking about me sticking my head in my wreath on door and nearly getting suck? HOW THE HELL WOULD HE KNOW ANY OF HTIS? What is this?" Apparently my mom had an emergency appen…

In my humble opinion, EVERY member of Congress (and Senate for that matter) should be fired! They are an embarrasment to the constituencies they allegedly represent and rehensible to all Americans. Besides shutting the governement down, they want to get the US in a war with Syria. They do not talk about the 18 million children who go to bed hungry every night, the seniors (18-20 million) who really struggling, the one million homeless veterans, and the financial crises they and their cronies on Wall Street put us in. I could go on but it may take a lifetime to mention them all. I do have some solutions but telling them is like talking to the wall.

I've been feeling like hell for the past week and a half. I took a covid test just now and it was positive. So we're going to be in quarantine for the next two weeks while I get past this. It sucks hose water, but there's not much I can do about it. I got the vaccine and the boosters, so there's that upside. But nothing is foolproof. So I'm going to be resting for the most part of the next few weeks. I had a feeling I was going to catch it at some point, I just didn't know when. I'll try to dip in and out and keep up with things here. But I don't know how much of that I'll be able to do.

So I took a risk. My Mom's birthday was yesterday. We do have a good phone relationship, but my Mom is one that has never given me a pat on the back. So, I took a risk. Where I am getting into photography, I sent her a card and sent her a sampling of my photos. What I expected to hear was, "Why did you send me this? What am I supposed to do with this? I'm sending them back." Instead I heard, " Thank you for sending me these beautiful pictures. I can't wait to show all the girls. These are amazing." Wow. That is a first.
