Hello again, Since my YouTube channel has been limping along, I decided to reach out to all my old friends, family, and aquaintances to openup that I am a transgender person. The respinse has been almost universally supportive. Almost. My bother and one strpdaughterare close-minded at this point. We will see how it goes. It still feels good for me to be opem about myself. It was high time.

I am a successful business man dying to let the woman I am come out. I have known since I was 10 I was a woman trapped in a mans body. I finally have the courage to begin the process, but am affraid to actually let her come out. I know it will cost me my relationships and job. I don't see how I can survive the process. I need to let the woman in me be free and take me to the next level. Anyu words of wisdom from the world?

Being that transgendered people look to alter there lives to match what truly lies within, coming out is a must. It is probably the hard and scariest thing for anyone to do. So with that said, to anyone that is reading this who did you first come out to. Why do you chose that person over others? Sorry that I can't contribute to my own topic. I have yet to come out to anyone. ^_^

Coming Out, a New York Times interactive feature, contains videos and stories from gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans people. It is advertised as a "weeklong series," but I'm not sure when it began...so members might want to check this feature out soon in case it disappears. I haven't seen all the vids, or read all the stories, but one was interesting to me - a young gay teen who was in ROTC. He mentions putting off going into the military after high school (despite the repeal of DADT)...he feels he might still have to hide who he is. I wanted to go into the army after high school, but didn't because back then, it was assumed that any female in the army was gay. I …

Coming out is a very personal matter. It's telling the world that this is who I am. I am mindful that my coming out process came several weeks after discovering that I was a crossdresser. When I did accept myself all of the stress in my life dissipated. It took over a week that I had gone over a divide that I never imagined that I would cross. I have concluded that coming out is not a one time event. It's happened to me a number of times. I proceeded from a crossdresser to transgenderist to transgender. At the present time I am experiencing another shift in my identity, moving closer to identifying as fully feminine. This is after a long period of relative calm. Wha…

I told my dad last night that i am transgender and asexual. He seemed okay with it at first, but then earlier today he indicated that he thought i wasn't really either of those. He seemed to think that some of my friends in my LGBT group somehow persuaded me that i was transgender and asexual rather than realizing it on my own. At first i thought he was accepting of me but now i am not so sure. What do you think? Do you think maybe he is just trying to cope with it? Do you think maybe he is trying to make sure this is who i really am? I am not sure what to think and i need to know how he feels about me.

I was with my mother the other night, and we usually end up on some topics that I wouldn't expect, but it just so happened that night we ended up on just the topic I needed to get my foot in the door. I casually began inquiring whether she would be upset, or okay with the fact that I would eventually like to start hormone therapy. I didn't relate it directly to transitioning, but she did ask whether or not it meant relenting my birth name. I requested that once I started therapy, she begin calling me by my chosen name (not that far derived from my birth-name). She seemed as if she might find it difficult to do so, but it was a good start. She also knows that I would …

I'm asking this of everyone, regardless of age. If you came out fully, and told your parents, how did they react? I haven't come out to anyone, but that's because I cut them out of my life. So there's no one to come out to other than my wife, which I did several years ago. I've been in full transition for 3½ years now. She has supported me all the way, and says she has the best of both worlds now. Someone who has insight to a male mindset, and a female mindset. But she's still not my mother or father. My sperm donor (AKA father) died in 2000 thankfully. As far as I know my egg donor (AKA mother) is still alive. She knows I'm bisexual, but to my knowledge has no idea …

Hi all, I am just curious, how did people come out to their parents. I am really worried about it because I am not sure how they will react. my dad especially comes from a very Conservative background.

How do you do it? I'm in my early 20's and I'm trying to figure myself out. I recently posted on the "I'm I or Ain't I" thread a list of reasons why I think I could be TG. It's a constant battle for me trying to decide. I have to say that so far you have all been very supportive and helpful And yet, no matter how much I decide to investigate or research, there's this part of me that is constantly telling me "It's not real." It's like sometimes I feel like I want to be a girl and sometimes I don't and it's really confusing. I've become very stable and successful as a guy. Some of it feels like an act and some of it doesn't and I don't know how that affects all t…

Hello all! Well i'd like to first give a bit of background to the situation first then see what you guys/gals think. Several years ago when i was roughly 15 or so i decided i need to get my secret out about having issues about wearing womens clothes. I found it easier to tell my mom because she could take the news better and i feel more comfortable talking with women about that sort of thing. So i wrote a letter saying that i think i might be transsexual and about the fact that i had been wearing womens clothing in private since i was 4-5 years old. My mother took the news ok, at least to my face and didn't seem to have a problem. She did however question the whol…

So I am at work today, and a few people start to talk about Sen. Craig, and the whole airport bathroom occurance. There was a general level of disgust, that these things can go on in public bathrooms. I made the comment that I did not appreciate that sort of behavior, that I have a beloved 12 year old nephew who could be introduced to that nastyness and I would be really peeved about that. And, you know, the guys at work can't talk about this type of activity without a good chuckle. So the salesman at work says, when he was in Fort Wayne, he was warned of a public park, where this kind of lude behavior goes on all the time and he was warned to stay away from there. …

My partner told me of a coworker sitting in office. They were looking at the old picture of me that Deb keeps on her desk (they never let go of those old pictures). Her visitor, who knows me, said, "He certainly was a handsome man. But you know, he's not a bad looking woman." I'll take that as a deseant compliment since she's a lesbian. :D

I have been out and about in my neighborhood. I get some compliments about my attire, all positive. I wear sandals during these months and I have received some positive compliments about my feet. A man took me just last night that I have beautiful feet. I always seem to get compliments about me that I don''t expect.

Annie wrote an article before about confidence, and how confidence alone can persevere... Most of us don't have near the difficulty to 'prove' their worth, than this person I want to show to all here. I must admit, I watched this show today on the suggestion of my friend, and was blown away. Since she loves this show, I decided to check it out and after watching it - I just thought it was *perfect* to illustrate the point. I'm not sure how crazy we are about linking, but, in case its no biggie, I suggest anyone who might need a lil proof that perseverance can indeed lead you to your goals, watch this amazing woman overcome harsh superficial judgement, and prove to…

One of the biggest concerns we have prior to transition is passability-- whether or not we'll be able to function in society as a person of the sex opposite our birth. As someone who jumped the fence a decade ago, I have some thoughts on this. I've got this lifelong habit of throwing things into a wastebasket from across a room. 99% of the time I don't miss. There's a certain mechanism at play here-- you fling the wad of paper or empty can with the prior expectation that it will land precisely where you want it to go. I call the phenomenon "willing it into the basket." And that's how I go about my life as a rather large woman. I'm at ease in my skin, never get "fl…

Is it possible for a teenager to recieve confidential transgender testing? Possibly through the school system?

Hello, I am seeing a doctor about hormone therapy. I was just looking for confirmation about the hormones because I am getting conflicting hormone regimen plans. I see a lot of sites that say to just use Estradiol and Spiro, and some sites say to use ALL of these: Estradiol, an Estradiol patch, Spiro and Finasteride, and only 10 days worth of MedroxyP. I have confided in another MtF. She recommends just Estradiol and Spiro. Just wondering if I used ALL the above if I will see faster results...not in particular breast development, but overall changes to my body. Thank you so much for any information you can give. Emily

This is just me asking for some advice, wondering if anyone else has been in this situation, so you don't have to read it if you don't want to read some silly young person being confused. I started going to a therapist last year. This person has been wanting me to take it slow, which I completely understand. This therapist wants me to try to get more in touch with being a girl, and I just feel really uncomfortable with the idea. I can't make myself do it, I just avoid it. Looking "like a girl" in public makes me feel uncomfortable, even the idea of wearing eyeliner, which some guys do, bothers me. However, I have no problem dressing up like a girl for theatric…

I feel like I wanted to write this blog because inside I feel ashamed and feel like I am a freak..well not in the sense of being a transperson but the fact for having feelings for a a gender that even shocks me to be attracted to as I like genetic females, even though I want to change to being a female..if that made any sense. I am so confused..maybe..I think I just rambled on..lol. Anyways..let me get to the point before someone gets bored. For years I have been attracted to females and could not see myself attracted to men as I find them disgusting vile in my eyes. And just the last few days, I suddenly seem to get sexual attracted to shemales. I know I know..what…

Hello everyone, I'm writing this with a lot of shame, but I'm hoping to find some guidance or just to feel less alone. I'm a 30-year-old man who has been trapped in my own mind for far too long. A big part of my story is isolation and a struggle with self-care. For about 15 years, I've lived in isolation, with no real-life friends, no job, and a deep-seated fear of social situations. This has taken a toll on my body as well. I'm struggling with my relationship with food—I don't know if it's the medication (Sertraline) or the depression itself—and I've gained a significant amount of weight. For context, I weigh about 125 kg (275 lbs) and I'm 1.73 m tall (5'8"). M…
