  1. I'm really lost and I thought some of the men and those who were saddled with a female upbringing much to their distress might be able to help me understand. There's a lot of pronoun switching when I'm describing the man I care so much about but it's not meant to be disrespectful it's just how messed up I am. I have a very good friend and i asked "her" out 3 years ago and zie was the only person out of 3 people I asked out to really respect dating in earnest. Something was missing but even after he broke it off we still hung out every friday most days with "her" staying over on the loveseat. I didn't really have feelings for them but my sister was convinced I was in lo…

Hi, I am struggling with my gender identity and currently feeling confused about it. I am also questioning my sexuality identity, and I'm trying to find the right gender identity and the right answers for myself.

I haven't been as active in posting as I have in the past. Over the past few weeks I have felt in somewhat of a limbo state. I really don't know what to do or where to turn. I guess the best thing to do is wait and see what happens. I sense that there may be a major change in my life as yet I haven't figured out what it is. I went through this a few years back and here was a major shift in my life. This may be another one of those times.

  4. Queer youth, especially trans youth are more likely to experience poverty due to being unhoused and/or living in a environment that does not support your gender identity / identities in general. Many of my queer peers are stuck working full time jobs with pay barely above minimum wages just to escape their unsupportive households. With the cost of living being at an all-time high, being able to live without support from your parents, fresh out of high school can be, and more often than not is, extremely challenging. On top of that, queer people are often burdened with either no insurance or insurance that does not support the cost of gender affirming care (assuming it is …

Hi, I am a transman I am working in a car loan company and started my testosterone last year. I am planning to take the next step and undergo a top surgery procedure to remove my breasts. And I need to find a good cosmetic surgeon for this. Can anyone help me with finding good cosmetic surgeons?

The Courage of Being Transgender in PublicI have long thought that transgender people living honestly as themselves are very courageous. Mirriam-Webster.com defines courage as "mental or moral strength to venture, persevere and withstand danger, fear or difficulty." I believe that the willingness to be oneself, one's true self, openly in public is a scary thing for anyone. Honesty in the face of adversity is a form of moral strength. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/victoria-kolakowski/the-courage-of-being-tran_b_7943418.html?ir=Gay Voices&ncid=newsltushpmg00000003 Note: Mods to please move this article as you deem appropriate.

I have had a few crying jags of late. Last week, it was about a female coworker with a sore on her arm. This week, I'm not really suret what it was over. It just kind'a happened. I am not really concerned. I just wanted to say this is happening to me. Sometimes, I feel really good about it afterwards. This is the worst Haiku ever. I see something bad, I take it to me I cry, I shed tears My tears, they do good At least, I hope so I see something good I take it to me I cry, I shed tears My tears, they do good I like to think so I cry, the wind blows I take it to me I cry, I shed tears My tears, they do good I know not where, how

"A gay dissident and a transsexual woman married on Saturday in what was said to be a first for Cuba, then draped themselves in the rainbow flag of gay pride and rode through the streets of Havana... the wedding, held on Fidel Castro's 85th birthday in what the couple had called a "gift" to the former leader, was aimed at advancing homosexual rights in Cuba..." For those of you who are unfamiliar with culture tests, the American Culture Test is at http://www.zompist.com/amercult.html. Other people have contributed their own culture tests--24 countries and 5 regional cultures. Basically, it's a list of things that are 90% likely to be true of you if you're American. I'm thinking about creating a male/female culture test (for our culture, of course--the English-speaking world, that is): one list for women, one list for men, using a format similar to the American Culture Test. I can't think of very many, though, because it's only been the past year that I've really started to understand that female culture isn't "just the way…

I was just curious as to what some thought about the idea of never revealing your gender history, to anyone, once transition is completed. Of course this is only possible if one has actual surgery. If no one knew your history genderwise, like all your family disappeared or something, would you still reveal?

i've heard about people cutting, but never "knew" anyone that cut until i started chatting with other TG/TS people, and "met" up with a transboy. before i stopped going to where we used to chat...i discovered there were about three young guys -all teens ranging in age from about 14 to 17- who admitted to cutting. but my little buddy was by far the worst. seems he actually set out to draw blood. it's my understanding that self-mutilation (not for purposes of body modification) is primarily a mechanism for coping with something else. allegedly, the pain keeps one's mind off the real problem. it got me to wondering if i fall in that category. i don't cut... never …

I am mad at myself. I have had this lumpy, rollypolly, extremely gross wad of waist fat that i promised myself I would lose in time for summer. well guess what, it aint gone, not even a small amount of the wad is gone. i have had some stress, i currently have one of my sweet rescue dogs in final stage kidney disease, i love her so much, she is not ready to be put down but i know it is coming. so i soothe myself with food, what an ass i am. i know dang well that me stuffing my face isnt going to help with her kidneys, so why do i do it. I am hopeless. So here it is getting beautiful outside, sunny and 70's, baseball games, vacations, and i had to go to Kohl's and buy…

Someplace here I indicated this movie was coming out soon and just had a chance to see it in the theaters. I was rather surprised that the theater was full and had not expected this. Synopsis: Well done but will warn anyone on HRT for any length of time will need to bring tissues to wipe away the tears. I wrote a blog entry on WordPress on it. The entry starts off with my thoughts that lead up to what happens in the movie and how I felt coming out of the theater. If you plan on seeing the movie don't read this entry else it will give away things that are important to see rather than hear from me. Amazon has the book and would urge you to read it. Suffice to say I was touc…

Ok. I am going to put myself out here. I have been on all the transgender dating sites. I have always been looking for a transwoman that has a faith in God. I find once I mention my faith, all bets are off. I am an old fart so this isn't about a sexual relationship, it's about finding someone to spend my life with. Someone to fall asleep with, to come home to...that kind of thing. I hate going to these trans dating sites and seeing all the porn crap. Do any of you know of good dating sites? A place to find companionship. I have been on my own for many years.....ready for a change.

I know this issue has been brought up here from time to time. In my 13 years of transitioning I have always dated transwomen. It always ends up the same way. My being told I am to masculine, and can we still be friends? The last transwomen I was in relationship with was long distance. I always called, sent her flowers and took the 500 mile ride to see her when I could. But it wasn't enough . I have looked at the trans dating sites out there and they really turn me off. Al this sexuality stuff. Is there any place to find real people?

  19. Hi all, I thought I mention some common sense pointers: It takes way too long for dating interaction through social media websites, It costs on average registeration and per monthly fees $45 for premium access and full features, Response time from male or women it can take forever to get a reply or actual meeting in real world (for me its easier to go out and meet and greet ), Lastly for trans male to interact with male to link up the male checks on trans to see in every detail who he is meeting with. Generally I put all my facts straight up in my introduction page so I don't have to go with introducing myself over and over, the pitfalls of trans dating versus…

Is Judge Kevin Ross homophobic, transphobic or both? I recently saw an episode of America's Court (SO1E18, original air date 30 Sep 2010). One segment of the episode was entitled, "Match Maker Mistake." A plaintiff contracted with a matchmaker to try to find the woman of his dreams. He was jacked up because he claims he was matched with a "man," and was suing to get his money back despite the fact that his contract clearly stated that there were no refunds. The defendant, a matchmaker, contends that the plaintiff was matched with a woman - that for all intents and purposes, the individual the defendant chose (she was one of three women he was matched with), was…

If you have wanted to do this and haven't gotten up the courage to do it, I really have to say... whatever reactions you were expecting from having bright metallic purple nails (and looking somewhat male still) are probably not what you were going to get, no matter what you were expecting. I think the enjoyment of throwing people's minds has kept me out of depression for the past couple of days. Saturday and Sunday I went to a party and hung out for a while at a new age store, respectively (among other random trips). I got no comments or really even glances about it. I mentioned on the other thread that I started this on Thursday afternoon, and then went to work wit…

I was sitting here thinking just now. I got a text a couple weeks ago from someone that I cut out of my life several years ago. They asked if this was "Jared or Jennifer". How they found out my name since I changed it several years ago, I don't know. I'm not going to give my last name, but my first and middle were Jared Anderson. I always liked the names. But he is dead. And sitting here thinking about it, I realized that once in a rare while I kinda miss the names. Not often mind you. Heck, it never even pops in my mind much anymore. I don't miss anything else, just the names. Is that weird? Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the same way from time to time? If …
