Hey, I'm a genetic 23-year old female who happens to be completely flat-chested, and it's wreaked havoc on my self-esteem/body image. I stumbled across this board while looking for hormone treatment for breast development. I know they can give this to girls who aren't developing properly during puberty--which, at 23, I am well past--but I figure if it can give genetic males some decent-looking breasts, it can probably help me out too. I'm desperate. I've tried various types of birth control (Ortho-Tri-Cyclin, Yaz) as well as those hokey breast enlargement pills (yep, I'm gullible), and none have had any impact on my breast size whatsoever. I am scared to death to …

Hey guys, My name is Natalie, I'm 20 years old, a student for Management Information Systems and Cyber Crime Investigation with a Web Presence emphasis. I'm gender variant and currently going through some pretty hard times with accepting who I am, but it's up and down. I have an awesome boyfriend(ish), and we are working through different sexuality and gender identity issues together and our relationship is (thankfully) strengthening because of it. I'm not really "out" quite yet, only a few people know that I'm gender variant and not a tom boy, but I'm working on it. Gotta accept myself before I expect others to, right? Well anyway, that's a short bit about myself, …

Hi everyone. Just found this site the other day. I'm mtf, began my transition 12/09 and things are finally starting to show. Just took the big step yesterday of telling HR at work. Not quite ready to have them go out and tell everyone just yet, but the times getting close. Anyways, I would love to meet other girls around the NYC area who would like to chat, maybe get together sometime etc. I'm a great listener and fairly bright (so i tell myself.)

This is just something that came up in a conversation between my partner and I this morning. I thought it rather amusing, so I figured I'd post it. When I was a kid growing up in the late 60s and early 70s my family used to make a five hour drive from our home in Southern California to our vacation destination in Arizona two or three times every summer, and usually once in the winter. The car we usually took was my dad's old El Camino, which had some cushions in the back and a camper shell. That's where I would ride. My dad was a very old-school conservative kinda guy and in an effort to both keep me quiet--and teach me his idea of the finer points of being a man-…

  5. I haven't done this in a Long time but I feel I need to ask this question , I have read many posts , watched many Vlogs on youtube . and the simple of it is Does the Rules have a place for every one that finally decides to transition .... I dont believe they do , hear me out , Yes I do think they are a good guide for some but for others to be socked into these rules is in my oppinion ubsered to simply say that if you want to have these things done to complete you as a person and to be any use to society you have to jump through these critearia to do so , hog wash , am I mentally strong enough to adjust to my new life as >>> then if so then I should be able to …

Happy Easter! So lately I've been depressed over getting older, and all that comes with that. Also discovered reddit and when I'm bored I check out different reddit subgroups. Well there is a subreddit called transpassing and folks post pics of themselves asking whether or not they are 'passable', and asking for honest opinions and tips. I thought it was a nice positive thing at first, then not so much. They also talk about exactly 'what' is preventing them from passing as ftm or mtf. Here's my problem...sooo many things considered 'unpassable' in the mtf pics...I also have. I mean I am basically NOT PASSABLE, which is even worse because I was born female. I have l…

Hey Everyone, It's been a while since I posted as life has a tendency to get extremely busy at times and I guess at some point, post transition and post-op, life is simply normal. I choose to write today because in the last 6months my life has completely changed from what it once was and what I thought it was going to be. I'll start with a brief background ... I began therapy in 2008 and started my transition in 2009. With my then supportive wife whom I loved more then I ever thought possible, I entered into HRT and and began writing coming out letters to my family, friends and clients. It was extremely difficult as it is for all of us who move forward with transit…

  8. Updated March 24, 20169:04 AM ETPublished March 23, 201610:21 AM ETTARA HAELLE Experiencing the world as a different gender than the one assigned to you at birth can take a toll. Nearly all research into transgender individuals' mental health shows poorer outcomes. A new study looking specifically at transgender women, predominantly women of color, only further confirms that reality. What's less clear, however, is whether trans individuals experience more mental distress due to external factors, such as discrimination and lack of support, or internal factors, such as gender dysphoria, the tension resulting from having a gender identity that differs from the one assigned a…

The topic may seem a little off. I am a business woman and probably soon to be in the media as I am spearheading my own thoughts on the Unisex bath room issue at the University of Virginia . Besides that, own a design firm that makes models and movie props as well as renting antique cars . Because of this , I have to look like a business woman . I see so many Trans women dressing ether in club wear or dressing in something that looks awful on their body shape . Now TG Guide members ,would you want to participate in photos of clothing that looks correct for the work place or provide advice ? Lets talk !

Tonight , I watched as most of us did on the long anticipated airing of the Bruce Jenner story. I really thought a lot of Bruce's openness and honesty. I saw a lot of my very own childhood as I too had religious parents and two siblings . My younger brother has only "Touched " the surface in even wanting to deal with his new found sister . I went straight to FB following the local news . The FANGS were already out as Bruce confessed he wasn't a Liberal! Goodness, GASP , he wants to talk to Mitch McConnel and other Republicans who "WE REALLY ARE"! Great! I'm for it . The current crop of Republicans thinks we're Child molesters and Mental cases . Because I have sever…

I have been dressing up quite a bit the past couple of weeks. I desire to dress up more now. My spouse has noticed and she is somewhat bothered by it. She wrote a poem about my desire to be a woman rather than a man. I understand how she feels. She fears that she is losing the male person that she married. I tell her that I’m the same person. I’m not really surprised by her response because I thought that this day would come. Things were quiet for a while. I sense that another shift is coming. I guess the holiday season may have triggered it because there have been more opportunities to dress. Just the other day I saw a transgender woman as I was crossing the stree…

  13. As a Transgender person my Gender identity is female, my physical body is male. For me this does not feel like a disorder or illness. It feels like a natural occurrence, part of the spectrum of the human experience that has occurred over millennium. It is said that change is the only constant in the universe, then transition is a universal characteristic that society would do better to embrace than shun. Although I experience Gender discomfort with varying degrees of disphoria sometimes very intense, what makes it so much harder is the ridged gender binary model I have been conditioned to conform too. If I openly defy this model I become vunrable to Hate speech, Ha…

(edited 12/20/05) ~ TRANSITION ~ What does "transition" mean to you in the TG sense of the word? Does it ONLY mean the physical alteration of your body through surgery, from one gender to the other? Do you see transition as the opportunity for an evening, a day, a week or longer to swap your regular clothes for those of the opposite sex, and in the process adopting this other gender's behavior patterns? I think the word means both of these and more. There are many of us on these Forums who are right now in a state of transition. In my case, I've been living as Annie for over five years, have had some cosmetic procedures, but not the fina…

My mind tends to wander. A lot. One thought in particular went through the empty space this morning as I was on my way to the vet. For my rat, not me. If someone who matters to me was to ask, about sexual orientation, I have no idea how to honestly answer that question. I’m bisexual, but for the sake of argument let’s say I’m not. Seeing as I’m a woman, and have always been attracted to women, does that mean I’m a lesbian? Or does genetics rule this one and I’m still straight? The same goes for the men. If you guys are attracted to men does that mean you’re gay, or is genetics on top here too? Now flip it and ask the same question. On one hand the answer …

  20. I got to thinking about this as I waited at my son's school today . I'm about to get dressed to the 9's to do a memorial for the many who have been murdered or taken their lives tonight at 7 P-M . Uh, it's T D O R folks . I want to propose we as Americans have a Trans Day of celebration ! Yes, a day where trans People are finally recognized for their achievements , their contributions to society and community . In addition , some worthy recipient could be presented an award , a potential college student with a scholarship, a lawmaker acknowledged for doing the right thing that year . Yes, many of these elements have been squeezed into T D O R services . Hey, if the ga…

Hi Everyone~ I have been seeing my trans therapist for about 2 months now, and she has recommended me for the transgender program here at the University of Michigan! Basically, she had to meet with me a few times, decide if I would be a good candidate then either a) present my case to the committee, and they would accept me (or not) or say she thought I'd need further assessing for consideration by one of the MD therapists on staff. Thankfully, she presented and the team is excited about having me as part of the program! Excitement number 2 is I have made an appointment for my well-care checkup, to see if I'm in shape to start T. Or if not, then what do I need to …

  24. Well, we all pass throu life wondering about this life we were born into, it never seams easy, its always a struggle, it throws us curve balls, sadness seams to dominate our days, ignorant people surround us, there never seams to be enough time, it all zips by or creeps along, we dont fit in, you can never find that happy moment or place, we feel to heavy or to thin, we are all in but life just seams to be standing on the side lines. Well, what can you do about it, I am still in this game but I keep striking out. I have come to understand that no matter what we all do nothing matters, at the end of the day tomorrow brings another inning, is it insinsanity to keep steppi…
