There are certain things that I do like fix my hair a certain way. I wear nail polish and capris sometimes. This is not my attempt to coming out, its just my style and way of expressing myself. So here is the theme of this topic. How did some of you start to live full time as a woman? Either before or after HRT. Was it a gradual process for you? Thanks for your insight everyone. ^_^

So I don't remember where I heard this, but I heard you can take BC pills instead of getting hormone shots and get the same effects. Does anyone know if this is true? It's not really soemthing I'm considdering, just wandered if theres any factual basis behind it. Plus I'm sure the negative side effects would outweigh the positive. Tiff

This is my first comment on this site. I hope it may be of interest. I live in a Latin American country so dressing fully feminine is hard to portray most of the time. Still I can wear nail polish on my toes and fingers most of the time. You just have to pick your colors carefully and call it rock and roll. On the street being addressed many times as him or her.I enjoy all of the roles. With the help of a marvelous partner I am able to be comfortable in my own skin. Whether it be perfumed, or sweaty from working the farm. Many Trans Gender persons feel to be validated they must go all the way through full reassignment rather than finding their own comfort zone. Hiding t…

I never really thought about this at all. ...Duh!! ...Posers! who masquerade as transfolks < I hate predators> Information: Back by popular demand: internet fakes This is part of my larger look at the issue of trans wannabes on the internet and issues of internet safety for young people. The problem of fakes continues unabated, with recent examples coming from the so-called "transkids.us" movement, fake "transkid" author JT LeRoy, and the fake "transkid" featured at boy2woman.com. Most of these sites are by kooks and wannabes, but a few are run by scam artists looking to make money by pretending to be transwomen. Lest anyone think this is a phenomenon limit…

Wasn't sure where to put this..so yeah. the gay guy on the left in the video really pisses me off for his narrow minded view on transpeople. ! Language in this video not suitable for viewers under the age of 18, or for others easily offended by profanity !

Ever since I came out at my place of worship, I have been treated and spoken to as a woman. It's even happened in other places that I go. Been hit on a number of times. It's really been amazing. Interacting with the public has helped, along with some pointers from my spouse.

My own writing but copied from one of my blogs A question that has been much on my mind recently, as I write this I have a lovely blue dress on, black tights, a control bodysuit and black knickers and bra, my forms fill it out to a nice c cup and to be honest I feel very comfortable. Like most women my age I don't have any makeup on but that doesn't make me feel any less feminine. I have been asking the question above a lot recently. My dysphoria has never been so bad that I have wanted to take a knife to my genitals or felt that bad that I wanted to take my life. Something I know a lot of transwomen have felt so strongly that they wanted to do so. Don't get me …

http://www.wa-doma.org/ I kind of wish this would pass. It would be the kind of law that would cause DOMA to be struck down at the national level. For those who don't know what DOMA (the so-called Defense of Marriage Act) says, basically any state can ignore the marriage laws in other states and make it's own rules about who is married and who isn't. So theoretically, a hetersexual couple married in state A could have their marriage declared invalid in state B. Washington Initiative 957 would do just that. Because of a court case that struck down gay marriage for the reason that gay people can't procreate, I-957 makes the ability to procreate a determination o…

I usually just lurk, but I guess I'm posting this because I don't really have anywhere else to write it. Recently, my car got keyed with the message "TRANNYS SUCK". I'm 95% certain it was the doing of my younger brother (who, bless his little soul, is now in juvenile detention for other things he did that evening). Currently, I have painted hearts over it in acrylic paint (I don't have enough money to have it professionally fixed - he got both my doors on the driver's side). Because of it, I was pretty much forced to "come out" to the rest of my family (funny thing was, I never actually told my brother), which I wasn't really prepared to do. It just has me par…

I really like Andrea Grieve-Smith's blog and especially liked a recent post where she talks about the need for the trans community to be inclusive and to give us all space to decide when/if/maybe we will transition, and that that in and of itself doesn't qualify one as transgender or not. I felt that is such an important message that especially in this forum where I imagine many come first:http://transblog.grieve-smith.com/2015/11/06/we-need-support-to-decide-whether-to-transition/#comment-167729

Hi Everyone, I'm new here. Kinda feeling this out. Uhmmm.... I have been in transition for 9 years, primarily on hormone treatment. Estrogen, Spiro's alone. I am also living with a chronic illness that most would scoff at if I as to share what it is. But other than that, my conundrum is about after this life is over. I was orphan till the age of 10, then adopted by a woman, a teacher and a devout catholic. Since a teeanger, I fought the urges of desiring another male. Though before my adoption, at 3yrs old I was molested by a cousin on my mother side of the family. Till I was in my 20's and in college. I was bullied in my earlier years of high school, and made gay friends…

I can’t believe I actually did this. My wife and I decided to go to the mall tonight. Nothing out of the ordinary. It’s a relatively small mall. We had been there a couple hours, hit a few stores, and were at the last store we wanted to go to which as a jewelry store. I always like looking at their watches. I’m a Citizen snob. Anyway, we were in there and I reached up to scratch my jaw, and that’s when I noticed it. I hadn’t shaved for probably 3 days. I was instantly mortified. Adrianne hadn’t noticed, because typically, if I’m not going out on any given day, I’m too lazy to shave. So it’s nothing unusual for her. But when I realized it and asked her, she told me it was …

For those of you who are unfamiliar with culture tests, the American Culture Test is at http://www.zompist.com/amercult.html. Other people have contributed their own culture tests--24 countries and 5 regional cultures. Basically, it's a list of things that are 90% likely to be true of you if you're American. I'm thinking about creating a male/female culture test (for our culture, of course--the English-speaking world, that is): one list for women, one list for men, using a format similar to the American Culture Test. I can't think of very many, though, because it's only been the past year that I've really started to understand that female culture isn't "just the way…

I talked about GLBT with my son. He asked a number of questions to which I was able to answer. He asked if being gay is a sin? I answered no. I shared with him that I knew that I was different all my life. I love these moments because it presents an opportunity to share that we are people, too. We touched on topics like gays in the military, trangenderism, my wearing women's clothing, Christianity, GLBT people in the church, and numerous other topics. I'm happy that he's accepting and open about my transgenderism. He's always been perceptive about life. I hope that there will be more opportunities like this. :)

As transphobia enters the Oxford English Dictionary, Helen Belcher asks if it’s hate, ignorance or government stubbornness that is the real problem 25 June 2013 | By Helen Belcher "Scrabble players have the benefit of some new words thanks to the latest version of the Oxford English Dictionary. Transphobia and transphobic are two of them. Judicious placing of tiles on pink squares may see scores just about reaching three figures." --gaystarnews.com Are we using the right words for trans hate?

Hiya all As I've said in the 'description', I'm posting this after reading the 'feel like a woman not attracted to men' thread... I'm not really attracted to men either... until I start thinking of myself as a fully transitioned woman... Has anyoe else experienced this 'swotch of attraction'? Or think this would happen if they did transistion if they have not... I have more to say on the subject that sort of explains more how I feel, but I'd like t see other peoples viws first before saying more

For years i have been spending big bucks to hang onto my CPA license. I am now thinking of letting it go. I am so far behind when it comes to the technology part of the field. And I keep thinking, what CPA firm would hire a 55 year old transman that would have to start at an entry level? I do hate to let it go because it is one of the hardest licenses to get, and yea, it took alot of hard work. And in writing this I think about the idea of 'wasted talent,' How so many of us have talents to offer if we just had the chance to be who we are.

I read an article about transgender rights being twenty years behind gay rights. What the article neglected to say was the reasons why. Here is my feelings and the reasons. 1. Roadblocks Transgender people and drag queens were front and center at the 1969 Stonewall Riots. When the leadership positions were created, transgender people were pushed to the margins. During the 1970s and 1980s laws were passed by gay and lesbian organizations to keep us out and prevented us from accessing resources we desperately needed. People like Janice Raymond and others were major obstacles. 2. Cold Feet Here in New York in 2010 marriage equality was on the same docket as gen…

I haven't been around much but thought I'd just say Hi. It's been a long cold lonely Winter. But spring is here again, So I will probably be too busy to bother much with anything. I am thankful for the friends that stayed in touch and helped get me through the depression of winter and look forward to hangin' with them in the future. I've made some new friends as well. I hope life is going good for everyone here and wish you all the best
