Life is filled with trials and tribulations. Some are pleasant, other not so pleasant. Whatever lessons we glean from this trials will serve us in the future. I listened to a sermon this yesterday touching on this subject. Trials are like studies in school; they are the basic training that we receive before going on our own in the world. Afterwards that training is put to the test. We all travel on our own roads in life. Sometimes we may have to go it alone. My road to self-discovery was one that no one else could travel for me. There may be detours along the way that serve us and help us to embrace new things in our lives. We may discover that there are some thing…

  2. From here: Except the Daily Mail article they referenced said: Except Lowe took his own life after his gender reassignment was delayed: https://metro.co.uk/2019/03/30/trans-teen-took-his-own-life-after-gender-reassignment-treatment-was-delayed-9070691/ How interesting that the trasphobes ignore that.

i think my emotions might be getting the best of me today. got into an arguement over a video of a kid who got upset cause his parents pranked him with coal. i expressed that it was a mean prank to do on christmas and then i get mocked and made fun of because i genuinely believe that kids can get their feelings hurt being pranked like that on such a special day. i felt what the kid was feeling in the video because i have been through that mean joke myself. was i wrong to feel the way i did and side with the kid and his feelings? below is how the whole video went down... the kid runs into the living room and heads towards the stocking. his mother asked what did you get.…

  4. I came across this article yesterday and found it so interesting, especially the graphical representations of gender identity, the spectrums within them, and social norms. Very interesting and informative: The Biochemical Nature of Gender Identity For example, there's this graph: I'm certain that I'm on the femme side of the feminine stereotype but not to the hyperfemme extreme. But isn't it cool the way that the graph also illustrates the transgender umbrella? I've met cis men who just need to get their femme on from time to time. Many cis lesbian women present to the right of the stereotypical line, and they are adamant that butch lesbian women are not "…

  5. Many opponents label the passage of bills for transgender rights as a 'bathroom bill'. They stoke fear into uninformed people that allowing transgender people to use public accommodations will endanger the children and women. Well, these people shouldn't talk. How come the military is sweeping over 20,000 rape cases under the rug? How come lawmakers have a hard time protecting women from discrimination, abuse, and exploitation? Recently, a transgender woman was denied the use of a dressing room because the owner felt the customers would be uncomfortable. I saw through that ruse! SHE was the one who was uncomfortable. I'm not about changing people's perceptions be…

November is traditionally a busy month for me. I've bee slowed down the past few days by elevated blood pressure (doing better, thanks) but the mind is still sharp. Next Monday is Veteran's Day. I have marched in the past but this time I will be a spectator. Though my transness was hidden from me when I served I am proud of my service. I will attend Transgender Day of Remembrance festivities also. Once again I plan on speaking briefly. Over time these two events have meant more to me. What it demonstrates is that we are everywhere. We have talents, gifts, skill, and perseverence. No one can ever tell me we can't perform. We have done well even under duress. With th…

Please note: This is long. and it rambles, and it likely draws the wrong conclusions. I'm sharing it with all you lovely people because I think clearer when I'm writing for an audience rather than just myself. My intention is to not invalidate anyone's experience, but to put my own into context. I love you all. - Dezzy I've mentioned in a couple of threads that I'm just coming to my identity. It's very confusing and I don't have the language I need to express myself cleanly. But that's what our community is for isn't it? To help people coming into this new knowing of themselves to express themselves and understand better. I came of age in the eig…

  8. Started by Hawkman,

Just had to get this off my chest. Even though I get along with all my family, today has been a somewhat bitter sweet day. You see, today is my birthday, and I heard nothing from my family. At the same time it has been a sweet day. Just got a phone call from a very dear friend, and telling me she loves me, and thanked me for being in her life. I also got a surprise e-mail from my life coach saying happy birthday. How she knew it was my birthday is beyond me, but it felt good. So, trying to hang on to the positive and let go of the hurt of not hearing from my family. I am finding that blood is not thicker than water. Having a few good friends is much more.

  9. Well My lovies , aint this a shot to the system , Yeah I know I am hardly around so when I do show up I hope I make it a good one , LOL Now lets get down to the nitty gritty of the whole "Transition Thing ", So your on the fence about wether or not to take the next step , ( that would be something only you will know ) , is there a first step well in a way there is : It would be Acceptance , not by others not by society but By You , if you dont accept the fact you have issues that need to be addressed and discovered why you may have any such issues then your not going to start to Transition in any aspect of Your life , being Trans any thing is not about being m…

I was sitting here thinking just now. I got a text a couple weeks ago from someone that I cut out of my life several years ago. They asked if this was "Jared or Jennifer". How they found out my name since I changed it several years ago, I don't know. I'm not going to give my last name, but my first and middle were Jared Anderson. I always liked the names. But he is dead. And sitting here thinking about it, I realized that once in a rare while I kinda miss the names. Not often mind you. Heck, it never even pops in my mind much anymore. I don't miss anything else, just the names. Is that weird? Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the same way from time to time? If …

  17. Started by Christine,

Last month, it was gel nail color (which is still a beautiful metallic blue). Today, it was nail threading my ugly male brows into pretty, feminine a arches. I haven't left the apartment in mens face and gear in well over a month; the two big boxes of "Christopher" stuff is readied for the Goodwill bin. On Tuesday, I go to Walter Reed Army Hospital to see an endocrinologist. I feel so good, so pretty, and so feminine! ---Christine

  18. I've had several meetings over the past couple of months with a man who is providing me with some professional services. Before our first meeting I told him via email that I am a transgender woman. If that made him uncomfortable then that was fine and in which case I asked that he refer me to another colleague. We talked about it on the phone: he's a fundamental Christian and although he has a lot of experience with gay colleagues and customers he'd never encountered a trans person. If I was game to help educate him he was very interested in learning. Since then we've met a couple of times including yesterday. In the course of our conversation I mentioned that I'm sc…

Today is the ninth anniversary of my coming out. It was such a relief when I first came out. All the internal stress and tension dissipated with that one act. Ever since that day my has been wonderful. Over these years I grew from a struggling cross dresser to a contented transgender woman. It's wonderful when I read that many men and women come out on their own. I have tried to be helpful to others in any way possible. I have been helped immeasurably by man people on the forums and in person. Looking back, it has been an interesting journey to say the least. It get more interesting every day. I certainly would not change anything.

I've hit a dry spell in my life. It happens periodically and sometimes it may be needed. Don't know where to go at present so I'll stay where I am until things change. It's a good time to assess where I am in my journey.

  21. Dan Bilefsky, July 25, 2012 "Twenty years ago, Serbian newspapers jeered that transsexuality was an act against God. "Today, people are coming from around the world to Serbia for sex-change operations, which are now subsidised for Serbs by national health insurance. 23. The trans community feels underrepresented under the LGBT umbrella but we need to play a part in fixing that ourselves 24 October 2012 | By Ashlee Kelly Ashlee Kelly: One transwoman who says trans people would help their community by being more visible. I love being part of a community. Knowing there are other people similar to yourself all around the country, even the world, is a comforting feeling. Whether the differences between you are small or huge, having the backs of those like you is an important safety net. As the saying goes, there is safety in numbers. That's why I am a strong believer in the LGBT community. -gaystarnews.com The silent 'T': are tr…

I know I ask an awful lot of questions, but as many of you know this is the first time that I'm open with myself and others about who I am. I wanted to know, because I'm in the process of looking for a new job, When would be the appropriate time to tell your employer about name/gender/pronoun business?
