Back when I was in high school, I always wanted to get into photography. Been thinking about making that happen for a while. Anyway, after 10 years on the same job, I was given a gift book and told to choose my prize. Selected an item made by Bushnell. It's a combo binoculars/digital camera. Received it in the mail the other day. Used my last few bucks to buy batteries and a memory card. So, hoping to get up onto the Connecticut river next weekend. Maybe get some pics of the eagles and other raptures that nest there. Psyched!

I wanted show you a picture from Freddies Beach Bar, the most TG - and CD - friendly I have ever been to. Once a week, they have drag karaoke that is as much a comedy show as much as a karaoke show. They have a full dinner menu open until late. Overall, it's just a great place to visit it you in Crystal City, Va. On the picture- I can't figure out how to pull it out of my library (Mac) and insert into my posting. BTW- we are all welcome whether it is drag show night or not, and you'll be hard pressed to find a nicer staff (I lost count of being called, "Honey," "miss" and similar monikers. It was a great feeling)

I've talked a lot about my babies. You guys know how much I love all of them. But we have a problem. The problem is Rollie, the bulldog. Her pic is below. I don't know if the problem is just the puppy in her, or if she's actually a mean dog. With people she is sweet as sugar. But she attacks other dogs. She went after my pitbull tonight. It was next to impossible to get her off of Lady. Lady's ok. No real injuries of any kind, just a lot of slobber. She has done the same thing with our 3 Chihuahua. I work nights. So at 10 pm last night I was outside having my morning coffee. And where I live, the sky was so clear that the stars were amazing. I even saw something that I have only seen once before. An exploding star. So, when I got my head out of the stars, I looked down, and standing about 4 feet away is a skunk. Kind of looking at me as if to say, "what are you staring at?" Knowing skunks do not have great eye sight, I stood up and told him, " Hey buddy, not so close." He took off and made for the back lawn. Oh the hazards of a bright sky.

This time of year, the holidays for those who are isolated or alone can be very difficult. For those, like us, a part of the LGBTQ+ community and often shunned by family and friend alike, Thanksgiving and Christmas can be even tougher. I've mentioned other forums that I'm on that are Invision forums. One has a section that is Member Interviews. If they feel inclined the members post a thread usually labeled "Ask Membername" and the rest of the forum asks them random questions. What's your favorite car, where is your dream vacation spot, what food would you like to try, and so on. It's a great way to get to know each other better. I thought it may be fun to have that here. No matter how much we are successful at conservation of resources, recycling, emissions control, as long as the population continues to grow any such conservation measures will be overtaken. Does anyone here have Hulu? If so do you have problems with it? We have it, and it never works right. It literally glitches every few seconds, and IF we can get any kind of image on the screen we consider ourselves lucky. It has never worked once since we got it. Adrianne's mother subscribed to it for a reason that I simply can't find and we each have a profile on there. We also have Netflix, and have no problems with it. But it doesn't have the TV shows I want to watch on it. SO if you have Hulu and it works for you, then for the love of the Gods tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong.

Did anyone get to see the planets this morning (7-19-20)? I was up at 3:30 AM to see it, but just my luck. The entire area was completely cloud covered. We even drove several miles out of town trying to find a spot to see them, but nothing without driving 100 miles was going to work.The entire CeMO area was blanketed. I did manage to get a quick glimpse of Jupiter and the comet, but that lasted all of 2 seconds. So, my brother in law was at my Mom's to clear the snow off the roofs. My 84 year old Mom tells him she will do the garage roof because she wants the exercise. So, in cleaning of the garage she sinks in the snow up to her waist. She finally was able to crawl out on her hands and knees. And she calls, laughing. I am so amazed at my Mom. At her age, the physical, mental and spiritual strength she has, amazes me. Yea, I have an amazing Mom.

Was over to my dad's today. Drove him to appointments. Today was the first day I have seen my 86 year old Dad as an old man. He could hardly walk and a couple times I had to catch him from taking a nose dive. His memory is also fading . The most heartbreaking part, is my Dad sees it. He had always said he would never go to a nursing home. Today he told me, when the time comes, there is only one home he would go to, and made me write it down. He also, today, gave me legal power of attorney. It is heart wrenching. My dad has always been the epitome of health and strength. Today was the first day I noticed the change.
