In talking to my 85 year old dad today, he told me how he is being billed for big medical expenses and how his landlord is looking to increase his rent. I told him, that is nothing but elder abuse. He is a veteran. They should not be harrassing him. And i told him " You have always been a warrior( my Dad is full blood abenaki). Well now i am the warrior. And I told him not to worry. I will take care of it. Over my dead body will I allow anyone to take advantage of my Dad.

  4. Helen Belcher of Trans Media Watch highlights institutionalized discrimination in Britain’s National Health Service and media 14 January 2013 | By Helen Belcher " Three of us had spent a couple of months beforehand collating evidence, much of it heart-breaking, lots of it that could never be released into the public domain. The invitation from Lord Justice Leveson came as a real shock, and involved much thinking about whether I should appear behind screens, or with the cameras switched off." --gaystarnews.com Burchill shows anti-trans media attitudes remain See related:

I hope i don't annoy anyone by posting all the great things that are coming into my life with my parents. I share them in hopes that it might help others that are on the fence as to hanging onto a relationship, or, letting go. And by all means, if someone is harming you, let them go. In talking to my Mom this morning, she told me, "I feel so blessed to have you in my life." That is something i have been waiting a lifetime to hear. And I am a little overwhelmed. This from a woman that for 9 years, refused to really see me. And for myself, I am so thankful that God gave me the strength to wait her out. Again I do acknowledge that it is a very individual decision..…

  6. I'm really lost and I thought some of the men and those who were saddled with a female upbringing much to their distress might be able to help me understand. There's a lot of pronoun switching when I'm describing the man I care so much about but it's not meant to be disrespectful it's just how messed up I am. I have a very good friend and i asked "her" out 3 years ago and zie was the only person out of 3 people I asked out to really respect dating in earnest. Something was missing but even after he broke it off we still hung out every friday most days with "her" staying over on the loveseat. I didn't really have feelings for them but my sister was convinced I was in lo…

Dear LGBTQQI community in Bakersfield, I am writing this letter in hopes that some of you or all of you are made aware of a growing problem that is here in the city. Recently me, my dad and his boyfriend moved to the city back in February 1st of this year. We rented a motel for the month in hopes down the road of finding a place to rent but just recently have changed our minds. We heard the Gay & Lesbian Center was just a couple blocks down the street from us and decided to go check it out and see what kind of services it had to offer. Well me and my dad went and we was for the foremost rudely in a polite way shoved out the door and told that they was havin…

Hello there. My name is Nathan, and I cross dress on weekends but would like to do more. I live in a group home and I am diabetic. I would like to transsition although I have 3 scars from a pitt bull accident in 1983 and move to where I would be accepted . I live near a sister where my family does not aprove I currently have a social worker (as my sister wanted), and a psychiatriist (medication management). I used to see a black man for a therapist but dropped it over time. Women are better therapist than men in my opinion. Know of anyone I could talk to? I live in Southeran Minnesota in a small town about 2 hours from the Iowa line. I do have insurance but it i…

How do you handle those awkward family moments? Saturday I was at my brother's house visiting. I see them once every few months. I live as female part time so currently I work as a boy, see family as a boy, but otherwise I am Britney. I went to a party Friday night and then was at my brothers on Saturday afternoon. He was making fun of me cause I don't know anything about football or what a waiver wire was. Saying thing about the "man card" and ect. He has seen some of my kink photoshoots but from years ago when I shot as a boy so my family already thinks I am weird. As I was leaving his house his wife happened to point out that I was still wearing mascara from the ni…

Recently I've read some posts here and at other places that some feel that they are too old to transition or to make the changes needed to be the people they want to be. It's never too late to make positive changes. Change is not easy but consider the alternative. Do you wish to be miserable and unhappy or do you desire to be happy, content, and full of vitality. Society will tell you that when you're in middle age, you're no longer productive or that you have nothing of value to offer. What gets me is that society thinks that we do not have the creative ideas or the desire to make change. Yes we can change and we can have an impact on others. When I read posts I'm…

Scott De Buitleir, Posted: 10/17/2012 11:42 am An advertisement for a popular cellphone network in Ireland has been heavily criticized as being transphobic and promoting stereotypes of transgender people. The advertisement depicts a young man dancing with a drag artist in order to avail himself of the bar's free Wi-Fi. When he realizes that the cellphone network Meteor offers a free Internet package, the young man stops dancing and leaves the bar, while the drag queen spots another unassuming entrant to the bar. -huffingtonpost.com Cellphone Advertisement Blasted as 'Transphobic' (with Video)

  16. Ellsworth Rundlett III, Posted: 12/20/2012 1:01 am Eight years ago, my daughter Nicole introduced a new twist to our motley tribe. She was Nick at the time, the best son a man could ask for, but -- unbeknownst to the rest of the family -- she had always identified as a woman. When Nicole decided to become her authentic self, I was startled and unsure -- but time, education and counseling have made our parent/child relationship stronger than ever. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for our extended family. --huffingtonpost.com The Cold Shoulder at Christmas: Family Holidays With a Transgender Daughter

  18. I've been thinking about Tuesday now since Yesterday, ( Sunday ) when I was sitting in for our receptionist at the host church which will hold our local TDOR. I spoke to several people in the church who had no idea of what it was to be one of us , transgendered . I explained to one lady who was denied Pierced ears until she was 38 ! I said , "see, you're now living out you're life as you want. " She questioned me again . I explained to her how in Virginia at least , Electro Shock therapy was administered to us as late as 1980 ! I was warned a couple of times when I tried to come out in the early 1970's that being transgendered in Virginia could have easily gotten me…

I stopped doing therapy a while ago. I realized it was only keeping me stuck in my problems. So, starting tomorrow, I am going to start doing christian life coaching, Not sure how the life coaching works. But i am hopeful that this will move my life forward. To help me be the man God wants me to be. And give my life direction. I am ready for a change.

  21. The Leveson Report in British press standards has some harsh words about the tabloids’ treatment of transgender people – now action is needed 29 November 2012 | By Helen Belcher " For days before the hearing in Court Room 73, I was frequently reduced to tears reading and re-reading the horrors that trans people and their families were repeatedly subjected to. Is Judge Kevin Ross homophobic, transphobic or both? I recently saw an episode of America's Court (SO1E18, original air date 30 Sep 2010). One segment of the episode was entitled, "Match Maker Mistake." A plaintiff contracted with a matchmaker to try to find the woman of his dreams. He was jacked up because he claims he was matched with a "man," and was suing to get his money back despite the fact that his contract clearly stated that there were no refunds. The defendant, a matchmaker, contends that the plaintiff was matched with a woman - that for all intents and purposes, the individual the defendant chose (she was one of three women he was matched with), was…
