so im writing this to tell you that my experience in the women's shelter here at VOA has been positive so far. the women have been nothing but nice to me and treating me so well. i feel so relaxed and easy and i can be my self more here then when i was at the men's shelter. Monica has been super awesome in helping me feel safe and makes sure that im well taken care of. i highly recommend this shelter for those who happen to be in reno nevada who are transgender MTF as they welcome our community with open arms. i even had one to help me with my makeup today and i got complimented with my over all look. im feeling so good about myself and not depressed as i was when i was i…

I haven't been as active in posting as I have in the past. Over the past few weeks I have felt in somewhat of a limbo state. I really don't know what to do or where to turn. I guess the best thing to do is wait and see what happens. I sense that there may be a major change in my life as yet I haven't figured out what it is. I went through this a few years back and here was a major shift in my life. This may be another one of those times.

So, with medicare covering surgery, I have contacted surgeons to see if they will accept medicare and have gotten an emphatic no from them all . Even from surgeons that are trans themselves. Yea, guess it is all about the almighty dollar. So, at my age, I am giving myself 3 years. 3 years to get back in to my profession, get my surgeries done. And If it doesn't happen, then, I give up.

Was sitting on the sidewalk and seen a father with his child walking. The child was male but was wearing a dress. I told his father that was awesome for letting his child be themselves. I gave the father thumbs up for it. He smiled and thanked me

Trans activist Jude Patton has created two Facebook pages for those in the LGBT community who form emotional bonds with animals and he invites us to share our stories of our relationships with our animal companions. TRANS for Animals Lgbtiqq people and their emotional bonds with companion animals Mr. Patton describes the project as follows; Unfortunately, our experiences with marginalization often affect our feelings of self-worth. While many people in our lives are unable, or unwilling, to provide the emotional support we need before, during, and after coming out, or transitioning, our companion animals never fail to see us as we truly are, and never fail in contin…

Today is the ninth anniversary of my coming out. It was such a relief when I first came out. All the internal stress and tension dissipated with that one act. Ever since that day my has been wonderful. Over these years I grew from a struggling cross dresser to a contented transgender woman. It's wonderful when I read that many men and women come out on their own. I have tried to be helpful to others in any way possible. I have been helped immeasurably by man people on the forums and in person. Looking back, it has been an interesting journey to say the least. It get more interesting every day. I certainly would not change anything.

Who knows Sinead O'Conner from the 80's? As far as I know back when I used to listen to her amazing mellow songs in 1980's I knew she was a 100% female! If one goes to porn sites today yet one finds many beautiful women with penis naturally they were surgically planted ! Now the question arises what is the rate of these surgery? One can assume its okay to be bisexual in their own terms. I am just bewildered O'Conner has a penis which concludes my theory of dual sexual fantasy! Is this case true or women having penis implant surgery? Here is link Sinead O'Connor On Sexuality: 'It's Not About What Gets [Me] Hard Or Not' - http://huff.to/1yXBwI6 Language in th…

Ok how do you know if you are a CD or TG. I have felt wrong my whole life. I grew up where you could not be girly or act soft. My family would not understand back then. My dad caught me with panties and bras from a house we where house sitting for and I made up some story. I have known for a long time that I like being in the other genders cloths . I like heels , dresses, night stuff. It's not all about sex. I am married with 3 boys. I'm 36 years old and have been hiding this for a long time. My loving wife knows and is doing her best with it. She loves the man I am but does not know if she can think the same way about the other me ,the real me. The real me? I have starte…

So, as ive said in another post I'm moving in a few days. I haven't told my father because I plan on doing it while he's in church, because of the reason **why** I'm moving (transition related.) So, I've written like 5 or 6 different (long) heartfelt letters to him, telling him that I'm trans and that I had planned to start hrt in less than a year. But slowly the letters have been changing... A few days ago I went out with a few friends and they were asking me about how my father would take the news. I told them its pretty likely that he'll completely reject me, and I started crying. I stopped skating and sat on a curb and just tucked my head into my knees and cried for a…

Cyd Zeigler | June 06 2014 7:00 AM ET "It’s bad enough to see it splashed across my Facebook page and tossed casually around the pool on a warm Sunday afternoon, but the most disturbing part is that it’s gay men splashing it. As trans people have asked us with louder and louder voices to stop using this word, gay men everywhere are embracing it." --advocate.com Op-ed: What We’ve Failed to Remember With the T Word

I don't know if this is a big problem for other trans people, but at work, whyrrr I'm out, People In the back room crew where I work are constantly poking at my feminine tendencies. I was in a great mood today until they decided to say that because I really liked this greeting card we processed because it had googly eyes.... They also poked fun at yjr fact that I really liked a photo album that said be yourself. I kind of flipped on them today because of it and I said "if someone who was born biologically male did any of this you wouldn't question them but you have to belittle me at every turn."

"Because the word is predominantly aimed at trans women, with us as the joke, it is only trans women who can “reclaim” it if we so choose. While I’m certain some trans men have had the word thrown at them, it’s not theirs to reclaim. While I’m sure drag queens have had the word thrown at them, they have the benefit of being able to wash off their makeup, take off their dress, and fade back into their male lives. I don’t have that luxury. This is my life. This is my identity, not an activity, and not a hobby. This is who I am, forever trans, forever vulnerable to the damage this word can cause." -Parker Marie Malloy, It's Time to Stop With The T Word, advocate.com I'm …

i have decided that i am going to give up on my transition as i no longer support the very community that time and time again have shunned me and not helped in my goal to womanhood. for the past 7 years i have went through literal heck, clawed and scratched to try to transition and no one seems to bother in helping nor cares i am even around. not to mention...i get critized, made fun of within my own community because i am having to present male until i get settled in my next place, if i ever do have one...knowing me ill live homeless the rest of my boring life....im so tired of being bashed within this community and looked down upon as gutter trash because i happen to be…

I've been living as myself, a woman for over four years now, post-op for over three ... I am who I always wanted to be, a strong woman working in my chosen field as an artist and have appreciated a full life. We (my partner and I) moved a year and a half ago to a fairly small town an hour or so from Toronto Canada ... recently a non-eventful visit to my (now not so) new Dentist required that a treatment be submitted to my insurance company, a fairly normal thing. Keep in mind now my legal name was changed some four years ago and after several visits to a couple different (because of moving) Dentists per year for check-ups and cleanings have caused no problems as my name h…

No, I'm not venting! I have had this thought in my head for a couple of weeks. It's good to let all the frustration and tension out of your system. Whether its posting here, writing in a journal, creating a blog,or just screaming in an empty room, getting out all the negative vibes is therapeutic. Once that's done, creative and positive ways to resolve issues can be thought of. I read numerous posts of people who vent. I do understand what they go through. I created a blog when I was dealing with my gender issues in 2005 (still have the blog). I posted everything that was on my heart. One one particular night I posted until three in the morning. I was emotionally drai…

What prompts a person to claim being attacked when s/he really wasn't? In the past 2 or 3 years, I've read a few articles about lesbians claiming to have been attacked (Charlie Rogers, Dayna Morales - to name a few), alleging a hate crime against TGLB people. Recently, there has been a trangender student claim to have been attacked while coming out of the men's room in school. He later recanted his story. Do these people believe they are helping to change things for TGLB people? What could possibly be going through their minds when they report crimes that never happened? And with today's technology, do they really believe they will not be found out? Seems t…

Hey everyone. So I don't know who else get's this feeling. I'm a part of a support chat room...thing and I get mixed reactions. Of course there's that one head strong woman who "Understands" but makes you feel like disappearing every time she's there. ANYWAY. Yesterday at work, I was feeling extremely inadequate next to the people I work with, why? Because their all cisgender. All I could think was that I wish that I was born like them. Personality wise, yeah i may be like every other 19 year old, but here's this one "Trait" of mine that isn't. Every time I'm in a classroom full of people or with friends I'm automatically clouded with absolute depression beca…

I know this issue has been brought up here from time to time. In my 13 years of transitioning I have always dated transwomen. It always ends up the same way. My being told I am to masculine, and can we still be friends? The last transwomen I was in relationship with was long distance. I always called, sent her flowers and took the 500 mile ride to see her when I could. But it wasn't enough . I have looked at the trans dating sites out there and they really turn me off. Al this sexuality stuff. Is there any place to find real people?
