Just a reminder, that gender prejudices continue to do battle within the community at large. If we don’t want a world full of judgments, we must not judge. When Being Trans Is Not Trans Enough The terms transgender and trans are increasingly being used in community circles to denote those who are who are transitioning from their birth-assigned gender to more closely align their bodies with their authentic sense of self. Let us not forget that transgender is an umbrella that encompasses all persons whose authentic identity does not conform unambiguously to conventional notions of male or female genders and.... read the article online at Huffington Post

Hey Everyone, It's been a while since I posted as life has a tendency to get extremely busy at times and I guess at some point, post transition and post-op, life is simply normal. I choose to write today because in the last 6months my life has completely changed from what it once was and what I thought it was going to be. I'll start with a brief background ... I began therapy in 2008 and started my transition in 2009. With my then supportive wife whom I loved more then I ever thought possible, I entered into HRT and and began writing coming out letters to my family, friends and clients. It was extremely difficult as it is for all of us who move forward with transit…

i have an important question i wanted to ask you all and i need honest opinions on it. i have been for quite sometime pondered starting my own gofundme account to raise money for my SRS. the problem im running into is that social security wont allow me to recieve checks since im on SSI. i want to do this but im unsure if anyone would ever donate to it and such. my goal is to try to accomplish the srs within 2 years if i can.....4 years tops. one idea i came up with was have the check sent to the doctor who ive picked to do the SRS and that would get around the whole cashing the check part. do you all think i should take this chance and see what happens...or do you think …

i think my emotions might be getting the best of me today. got into an arguement over a video of a kid who got upset cause his parents pranked him with coal. i expressed that it was a mean prank to do on christmas and then i get mocked and made fun of because i genuinely believe that kids can get their feelings hurt being pranked like that on such a special day. i felt what the kid was feeling in the video because i have been through that mean joke myself. was i wrong to feel the way i did and side with the kid and his feelings? below is how the whole video went down... the kid runs into the living room and heads towards the stocking. his mother asked what did you get.…

I've appreciated the Forum thread "Questions From Spouses/Significant Others Of A Person Who Identifies As A Transgender Person Or Is A Transitioning Transsexual" and started thinking it might be interesting to gather a list of questions that we deal with. Maybe some are ones you already have answers for - great! I'd like to also know those. I probably just haven't thought of them yet. But more than just the questions, what are your thoughts and answers? I'd very much like to hear your perspectives. The questions below are in no particular order; I grouped them a little and hope that helps: On Being Transgender - Am I really transgender? The reason I ask myself t…

I hope that everyone here has somewhere to go or have people over during this holiday and the upcoming holidays as many of us know from others or first hand that these times can be dark and depressing. I will be spending time with my best friend’s family for Thanksgiving, which is an annual thing since 2007. If at all possible please make an attempt to be with people.

Hello all, I know that a lot of you probably don't know me. I had originally joined last summer, and was slowly coming out of my shell, but earlier this year I withdrew into myself again... I stopped visiting, and ended up staying away for many months. I finally started visiting again a couple of weeks ago, and have begun starting to come out of the shell again. It's not easy for me; even something as simple as commenting on a blog post or something takes a force of will. But I have been working at opening up. Now I am actually going to attempt to post something about myself. The last time I had been around, I believe I was working through how to come out to my…

When you go out you want something but it never happens? You like to crossdress and you like to go out and show off that assets, that you have but for some reason or another it doesn't happen you plan everything through, you visualize everything, you see through every action but yet when that final moment or whatever space you have in a big city with lots of people there's always some excuse or something hindrance or some trouble spot that just doesn't go your way for far too many variables n big tight city and ahead of you a brick wall? You come back home with some boners or two yet you crave for more? Being a man its easy to talk to man as a man but (being her and as…

i wish i had a better job for many reasons...my current job would be impossible to start my transition and begin hormones. ..its not a trans-friendly place...its not even a regular friendly place...its just a retail store in a not great part of an inner city...me wanting a better more friendly work environment is not just an excuse to delay taking hormones...its a legit concern

TG names are very personal choices that we (TG's) make to identify our selves to each other and often to the world at large. Many of the name choices have poignant, or happenstance or humorous beginnings. It would be fun to hear how you chose your name or how it was bestowed upon you. My "Manly Man" name is Leo (which I intensely dislike), my en'femme) name is Loe' (Lowee) Muir. Loe was a serendipitous accident. Our beloved telephone service provider transposed letters in my first name in the local telephone directory. Soon I began receiving bulk mail addressed to Loe'. I found the name to be fun and it fits well. I am a Californian and a long distance backp…

I've got access to some very cheap clothes here, namely the Goodwill outlet store. $1 for a heavy piece is really not too bad, as a stress/anxiety reliever (it's sort of like the lottery -- fun to dig through the bins and grab stuff that might work out, imagine it one day working out...). I was buying some new socks and undies today (NOT at Goodwill ) and realized.. wow. I've got a lot of 'girl stuff' now. I wondered if I was anywhere near the quantity of old 'guy stuff'. I figured I must be getting close. So I started a tally. Let's just say the results surprised me a little. I left out specialized stuff like swim trunks and bike/hike clothes, and didn't include thin…

Yea, haven't written for a while. Been looking into the medicare provision for my remaining surgery. I find the biggest problem is staying motivated to try. I have been fighting for so long to get this done that I am out of steam. And, one thing I need to find is people that will encourage me to keep going. I get along great with family, but they do not want to hear about the trans stuff. As for friends, well they contact me when they need something. I keep telling myself that I am too old. that even if I get the surgery done, I am too old for a relationship, or to find a real job, or to have a real life. Man, I am so tired of it. Having a life shouldn't be one …

So the last 3 days since I have been staying here at the Women's Shelter, us ladies have been going to the RSRM for breakfast and dinner. Well all was fine up until today at 5pm PST when this arse opened the door and told me right in front of the women that I was not allowed to come there to eat anymore and didnt give me a reason. You can imagine how infuriated I was. Here's is what confused me....there is two other transgender gals that have no problem going there and eating but yet i was targeted. Another thi…
