  2. Started by Gennee,

This Sunday, July 26th, I will celebrate my tenth anniversary of introducing Gennee to the world. I've gone from a cross dresser to transgenderist to transgender woman. Each year has brought successes. I overcame my fear of using the ladies restroom. I traveled out of town as Gennee with no repercussions. One big plus is I've received numerous compliments on the pink hat that I wear. I am part of a transgender women group with whom I have made friends. I am very happy and joyful and look forward to each day that I have.

So I am a butch dyke and never have worn feminine clothing, looking in the mirror I look for square jaw, broad shoulders, muscle definition, I shave my head, I hide my tits, I do not like "girlie" things but I do like women, I have always felt this way. Despite not being femme I have never minded this body until now - for the last couple years it bleeds a lot and often and I am sick of it, fibroids - Hate the idea of a hysterectomy because I think most surgeons and hospitals are unsafe and a body needs its parts, But T - I would love to take T and look more masculine and stop bleeding (if it would do that.) Am over 50 but menopause is not visible on the horizon yet - is t…

Always wise to reveal yourself when dating. Just force yourself to watch a Jerry Springer episode that has transgender guest on and they tell someone they have a penis and watch the fireworks go off. If you do need to tell someone make sure it's in a safe place as their manhood may take a jolt and cause reprisals. This picture may be silly but it can get real.

  5. Started by Jo,

Hi everyone my name is Jo and I am new to the site and wanted to ask about how I get started with my transition from MTF. I have made an appointment with a therapist and I have read about transitioning from multiple sources but I still don't quite know what all the steps are. I am married and have a beautiful little girl and I want to make sure that I do everything correctly for them. I always felt I was different growing up and began crossdressing at an early age but I didn't understand why and neither did my parents. I recently came out to my wife and she is supporting me. Please if anyone wishes to help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

  7. "Honey guess what? I'm really a Transphobe!" - The Jerry Springer Show & Transphobia You may have seen me posting on Twitter and Facebook about "The Jerry Springer" show, and that I find it extremely Transphobic. In fact I detest it and I know MANY Trans People who it's affected - some who delayed transition because of fears of ridicule and the stigma attached and exacerbated by this show... and others who gave up their goals because of this show. This is for all the girls and guys who made it, and to those who sadly didn't. So - "The Jerry Springer Show". It wouldn't look out of place at a carnival... Jerry could easily stand there as ringmaster, the audience eat…

I am a male who has just started a relationship with a trans girl. Just for the sake of clarity: she is a genetic male who CD's now but is about to start on hormones and identifies as a female. I guess I have been what you would call an admirer for a long time now, but this will be my first real relationship other than a random Craigslist hookup or two! point being is that I would like for this relationship to be more, and to develop into something and I want to do my part. my plan is to treat her like a lady, but other than that I really have no idea of any other way to help her as she deals with transitioning. I was hoping that the community here could give me some …

  10. It isn't huge news that former Alabama governor and failed presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is no friend to the LGBT community, but it is curious how he clings to his bigoted ways in the face of widening understanding and acceptance of transgender people. This article titled Huckabee wishes he could've identified as female in high school gym appears on CNN.com. "Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said earlier this year that he wishes he could have Identified as a woman in order to shower with his female classmates after high school gym classes... A CNN reporter asked for his reaction to Caitlyn Jenner's Vanity Fair cover in which the former Olympic champion, and self…

Hi I am not transgender myself, but I need to talk to some trans people about this. Story: I recently started going to college, and I met this fantastic guy. He's adorable and sweet, and I am very happy just being with him, but I have a few conserns, because he used to be a girl. I come from a really small town, and I was the only bisexual in my graduating class (there were no 'out' gays) so I know nothing about trans people because I have never been exposed to them. Is there anything I should know? -JessaLaFaye

I have a question that I'd like to throw out to people for feedback, though I think I already have my answer. Since I'm still quite early in transition, I've had an internal debate going on over what I would do if I get a job interview (I'm looking around). Do I go as I am, or do I do a little en homme? I feel like I should go as i am (professionally of course!). If I get the job I'll have to do that, so I might as well start off with it, and it's better to know upfront if it's a problem. So that might be my answer, but if anyone has any thoughts I'd certainly appreciate it xoxo Christie

Many times elating, sometimes deflating. There are times when I go out, shopping, when I am always referred to as Ma'am, or Hun, or some feminine pronoun, and other times, I am referred to as "sir". I am grappling with the disparity from day to day. I have gone out without makeup, and have been addressed as a woman, other times, when I am fully feminine, when I am addressed as "sir" Here are my non-scientific findings: When I feel "confident" in my gender role, I seem to pass easily, generally regardless of how I am dressedWhen I am nervous or frightened in my surroundings, even when I "think" I am dressed passably, I have trouble 50% of the timeI am not racist in any…

How far have you gone with presenting how you feel and what is the most that you think you are willing to do to bend your gender. I use to be afraid to wear women's underwear under my clothes, now this is where I am at. wear nylons or womens panties all of the time. have shaved all of my body hair including my arms and armpits for years. now have a feminine hairstyle and longer hair. Recently pierced my ears. wear womens slacks and stretch jeans Wear womens shoes that could almost be masculine, but they have more height than a man's shoe Sometimes I wear light base make-up Sometimes I wear a bra I often shop in the womens section "as Is" and push myself to …

Jus as the title sez, it's Prom season for R O S M Y , ( Richmond Organization of Sexual Minority Youth ) in Richmond Virginia . This has become , "My Prom" . See, in 1968 when In was about to graduate High school, I couldn't even have come close to attending my own prom . I knew I was Transgender then and earlier . In 2009, I was allowed to go to that Prom as a Chaperone . It was sooooooooooooo gratifying to be there in a Thrift store evening dress and getting my picture taken by a "REAL " photographer . This year , as in years past , I again get to be with "My kids " . Yes, those full of energy youths who identify a little differently than mainstream society . They are…

Tonight , I watched as most of us did on the long anticipated airing of the Bruce Jenner story. I really thought a lot of Bruce's openness and honesty. I saw a lot of my very own childhood as I too had religious parents and two siblings . My younger brother has only "Touched " the surface in even wanting to deal with his new found sister . I went straight to FB following the local news . The FANGS were already out as Bruce confessed he wasn't a Liberal! Goodness, GASP , he wants to talk to Mitch McConnel and other Republicans who "WE REALLY ARE"! Great! I'm for it . The current crop of Republicans thinks we're Child molesters and Mental cases . Because I have sever…

  20. Hello Everyone, I hope I don't cause a firestorm by what I am about to say, but I need some help sorting out some feelings that I am having concerning the ABC special on B. Jenner this evening. On one hand, I can certainly sympathize with what B. is going through, and to have the courage to talk about it, on national TV, on one level that is awesome. It puts a face to being on the Transgender spectrum. But it is a spectrum, and that is what is bothering me. We are all individuals, and while our own journeys have similarities, they also have differences - occasional, part time, full time, surgery, no surgery, out, in the closet - each one of our journeys is uni…

The topic may seem a little off. I am a business woman and probably soon to be in the media as I am spearheading my own thoughts on the Unisex bath room issue at the University of Virginia . Besides that, own a design firm that makes models and movie props as well as renting antique cars . Because of this , I have to look like a business woman . I see so many Trans women dressing ether in club wear or dressing in something that looks awful on their body shape . Now TG Guide members ,would you want to participate in photos of clothing that looks correct for the work place or provide advice ? Lets talk !

  25. I have just published my latest blog https://daniellaargento.wordpress.com/2015/04/10/unity-and-diversity-not-mutually-exclusive/ In which I discuss this excellent article http://mg.co.za/article/2015-04-10-00-i-am-genderqueer-comfortable-with-my-identity-at-last Which shows so nicely that the different parts of the broader trans* community really do have more in common than some may think. We really thus have so much more to gain if we act in concert...
