Yesterday I went to my GP to get a referral to the Gender Identity Clinic. I felt, to illustrate the matter, it best to go dressed appropriately. My doctor's is beside my place of work, so I dropped off my cycle pannier and trainers at my locker beside the office and headed over, dressed in a nice skirt, top and cardigan combo. I didn't bother with make-up or a wig, because I didn't feel like it. I wore my man boots, because my new girl boots haven't arrived yet. I like to mix it up a bit! In work I am not allowed to wear women's clothes until I have notified Human Resources and senior management at least one month in advance, to allow them to properly manage the "pro…

I simply wanted to start this topic for those who are in the folds of in determinant choice of who or were they fit into the fold of Gender Variance or the trials of what will happen during transition , for those who suffer from Gender Disphoria . I as many of those here Know have transitioned with the Help of those here and a great deal of research and self discovery with the aid of the internet . though it holds a great many things that can aid you in the understanding of alot , it is far from the true nature of the beast which is Transition . I will be here just as the moderators to help you understand alot of the things your going to undergo , those with any for…

  5. Hello my name is Cat and I'm a nurse specialising in various laser and skin treatments. I have been treating clients for more than 5 years and I now run my own clinic in Newmarket Suffolk. I use both Alexandrite and NdYag lasers (not IPL Intense Pulsed Light) as from my many years experience in all types of laser and IPL for hair removal, I have found these to be the most effective lasers for all skin types. I also have a very effective cooling system to make the treatment more comfortable. All my lasers are medical grade, not Chinese imports so I have the support and regular service back up of a major laser company to ensure my equipment is running safely and eff…

Me and a friend wanted to start a stand specifically for hand-crafted trans-pride products at the Pridefest in New york..... We were curious if anyone in the area of anywhere from delaware up to massachsetts wanted in on our plan? Hopefully, after my 18th birthday we were going to open up a business online which would sell trans-only pride merch, since there seems to be a whole 3 legitimate websites to buy from and business partners from all areas would be needed for advertising and the money made from pridefest would go tward funding the website over godaddy Just PM me if you're interested in joining in on our idea! :)

  7. "A gay dissident and a transsexual woman married on Saturday in what was said to be a first for Cuba, then draped themselves in the rainbow flag of gay pride and rode through the streets of Havana... the wedding, held on Fidel Castro's 85th birthday in what the couple had called a "gift" to the former leader, was aimed at advancing homosexual rights in Cuba..." I have been dressing up quite a bit the past couple of weeks. I desire to dress up more now. My spouse has noticed and she is somewhat bothered by it. She wrote a poem about my desire to be a woman rather than a man. I understand how she feels. She fears that she is losing the male person that she married. I tell her that I’m the same person. I’m not really surprised by her response because I thought that this day would come. Things were quiet for a while. I sense that another shift is coming. I guess the holiday season may have triggered it because there have been more opportunities to dress. Just the other day I saw a transgender woman as I was crossing the stree…

  9. I'd like to start off by saying that I hope everyone is having a great time this festive season!! I've sort of spent the past few days just going through a lot of the discussions on the forum. I've been amused by the wit of a lot of the members of the forums, touched/moved by the struggles of some and over all I think I may already be growing fond of this site in a major way. I just came across a topic however that triggered the posting of this topic (which is my first ever on the site ) titled "Tides Commercial". Lately I've noticed that the media has come under fire (from the Queer Spectrum) for it's representation or rather misrepresentation of TG/TS folk. Espec…

I know its been around a while but I'd never seen it until now. I was SO angry. If you aren't sure the commercial, here it is. http://youtu.be/C9LTRbWsGOI Just WHAT THE **** were they trying to prove with this commercial? What does a girl "dressing in camo and hoodies" and "building a car garage out of blocks" have to do with how well your washing machine cleans stains, so that you can put your little girl in "the pink clothes"??? I'm just... very pleased to see the vast majority of dislikes on this video on YouTube. I'm glad most people can see how "binary enforcing" this really is. So just a note... after talking about this with everyone I noticed that i…

I am trying really hard to stay positive, but ? All I want to do is stop existing! May be people were right when they told me I am platitude. this person told me to leave the web site /chat room. This hurt my feelings very much! maybe I should not write this massage but it bothers me to be rejected, and judged again. Sorry to bother you; please forgive me. If you wish I will leave this one too? Thank you for your time. Peace Out

So the last time I was here I had been going through some stuff in my life and my journey to be whole was not going as well as I wanted it to. Needless to say, I have been trimming the fat from my life, starting with the one thing that has been abusing me mentally and verbally and that is my biological family. My mother, my sister and most of that family is not going to be apart of my plans. I have spent years trying so hard to hold it together and keep my family value of being or trying to be close knit. Yeah...didn't work how I wanted it to work. So now they won't be getting nothing from me. No cards, calls and not even a care from my heart. I will turn my heart off for…

So here is what has been going on with me lately. I have decided to make some positive life changes and I am taking charge of my life staring in 2012. First on the list is a move to Phoenix and getting involved with some of the programs that will help me with my transition into womanhood. That article that I had posted about H.O.P.E. House had me intrigued and I checked into it some more and made the decision to go down there and start my life over and go solo for the first time in 15 years. I discussed this with my dad and he supports my decision and knows that I can't live with him forever and that he's not going to be around forever so I better prepare for being on …

  15. How many transgender people are there? The National Center for Transgender Equality estimates that between 0.25% to 1% of the population is transgender. This estimate is supported by estimates from sex researchers who have attempted to arrive at an estimated number of transgender people. I suspect the number of transgender people is much closer to 1% than it is to .25%. The latter would seem an extremely conservative number to me. The business of trying to estimate how many transgender people there are is challenging at best. Many trans people integrate into mainstream society and will not divulge their past. Others are repressed and do their best to deny the transg…

I noticed the post about chasers and admirers. I reckon you ladies and gents have your fair share of that garbage. It is my hope that nobody thinks that of me. I guess it would be the right thing to do in telling you all why a cisgender is here. First off, I'll try to keep any spiritual or religious stuff on my blog. I realize some may hate reading religious stuff. If you recall in the book of Acts the apostle Paul was preaching to the Jews and they hated him Some enough to follow him around disputing what he preached. This by the way is a sign of true hatred. Anyway, to get back on track I preach in a church to a small congregation. I love doing that and i…

  18. Hello everyone, I realize this isn't a novel topic and plenty has been written about it from a number of perspectives. I thought it wouldn't hurt to add one more. Let me begin by saying that I'm a 43-year-old heterosexual male. I'm not dealing with any gender identity issues. I'm not secretly gay or bisexual. I am attracted to women and I am attracted to women who have a penis (although I'm not interested in having a penis inside me). I consider myself to be a normal, healthy person. I'm well educated, mannered, attractive and have had a number of serious, long-term relationships including a 15-year marriage and other meaningful relationships. I was inspire…

I am sorry in Advance is this is rambled and long winded, and I thank those who took the time to read it and respond. The truth of the matter is I am lost. I am a 26 year old male who is outta shape to begin with, I have zero confidence in myself these days which I believe to be in relation to certain events of my high school days. When I was young probably around 12 years old my Dad told the family he was a CrossDresser so my exposure to this world happened fairly early in life, my Family all accepted him for it and that was pretty much it. But at the start of grade 10 we moved Cities and I had to leave my life behind and go to a new school, and I am a shy o…

Hello, I am seeing a doctor about hormone therapy. I was just looking for confirmation about the hormones because I am getting conflicting hormone regimen plans. I see a lot of sites that say to just use Estradiol and Spiro, and some sites say to use ALL of these: Estradiol, an Estradiol patch, Spiro and Finasteride, and only 10 days worth of MedroxyP. I have confided in another MtF. She recommends just Estradiol and Spiro. Just wondering if I used ALL the above if I will see faster results...not in particular breast development, but overall changes to my body. Thank you so much for any information you can give. Emily

To start with my name is Del. I tend not to use screen names but rather my real one. In a sense I guess I believe in being honest and upfront. I do understand how others may choose a screen name being stealth or whatnot. To begin I am not transgender. I am cisgender. I am also a licensed and ordained evangelist that posts mainly in the Christianity section of Susan's Transgender Forums. In case you're wondering why a cisgender minister is here you don't have to worry. I'm no transgender chaser or out to convert or heal anyone. I merely found at Susan's that the Christian section had people that loved the Lord where in many cases I found the cisgender Christians had th…

Good afternoon - First of all, let me say what a great resource this forum is! Thank you for having me. I am a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist working in New York and am the clinical director of the NYU Child Study Center Gender and Sexuality Service (NYU CSC Gender and Sexuality Service). At our program, we see kids as young as 3 or 4 all the way up to young adults in their 20's. As a huge part of our work, we feel it is our responsibility as physicians and psychiatrists to dispel the misinformation in the field and the community at large about gender variance. I think that as a field we have made tremendous strides in the last few years, and I'm happy …
