Help! My son is in need of some talk therapy from a child psychologist that deals with gender confusion. He is 11 years old and acts very "girly". He was born with a small penis and his mother and father (I am his stepmother)thought the entire pregnancy that he was female. They could not see a penis on ultrasound. I have only been married to his father for a short while, but in the two years I have known this child he has been asking questions about his gender. I am a nurse and feel it is our responsibilty to get him any help he needs in order to grow up as "normal" as possible. Kids make fun of him, and he feels bad about himself. Most of you can probably identify with how well clothes fit when it is one size fits all. As often as I have been duped into believing this phrase, it continues to catch my attention. I am surprised at how often when I am reading the remarks online that I am drawn to the tempation of the transsexual progressive ladder that has been posted a few times on this site. Hi everyone, I am really getting upset with my doctor in Los Angeles. He doesn't prescribe hormones. He charges $65 for an injection of estradiol+progesterone that he claims last a month. He charges another $70 for a 10 minutes consultation if I have questions. he said is not necessary to measure the levels of hormones to find out the right dose. I am just confuse about if I am going to the right doctor. I feel like I am getting rip off and not getting anywhere. I wonder if i would be better off just going to a regular endocrinologist.

Hi all. Had an incident happen at work that at first ticked me off, but then made me very thankful that I work at a place that values the work I do. Had a co-worker start calling me 'it,' to a few people. A couple people that heard it, went to my boss and told him. Well, this co-worker got written up and was told, one more time, and he gets his walking papers. All I can say is...'yep', my hard work and honesty is starting to pay dividends! Hope everyone is staying cool!

about our choices as transgender. Why do we need to subject ourselves to doctors whom claim to be transgender specialist. Doctors who don't accept insurance and don't prescribe hormones. Doctors who treat us like a star way to become rich and famous. This kind of doctor that I've been seeing. Why can't we just go to a regular endocrinologist and explain our case as any regular patient? I think that's what i am doing next. I would love to hear what every body else has to say.

Hi all. I have been in transition for 7 years, and now I am facing having to stop it all. I thought by now, I would have been able to get my hysterectomy surgery, but have never been able to come up with the money. And I am facing the consequences. In every single contract for every single Company we write for in regards to disability insurance, Transgender-related disability was always an exclusion to any policy (i.e., you could never apply under disability benefits when receiving SRS). Hi everyone-I was searching the net for any more information about insurance coverage for us and I came across a "youtube" video. I titled it "transgender insurance" and up popped a vi deo from a guy(FtM) named Aaron. In it he talked about the AMA and a certain resolution that they passed. Resolution 122(A-08). There are alot of whereas paragraphs so I'll be brief. I know I know it gets a little old talking about boobs but I just wanted to share something. My aereolas are getting wider and lighter in color. I don't have the cone type nipples. They are thick and long. My breasts are round and feel heavy and have some bounce to them. They are not growing in the typical tanner stages. They really look like boobs. If that makes sense.

Hi all. Putting this out there in case it might help someone else. I am in the process of making a gameboard. At the top of the board are my ultimate goals. They deal with health, relationships, spirituality, career....etc. I have then come up with the steps I need to take to reach each goal. the gameboard will have movable game pieces (probably velcro) that I can advance forward as I complete each step, or move backwards if I need to find an alternative route to the top. Hey Lucky and All. There is a foundation in Conn., called the Jim Collins Foundation. They are a 501c3 non-profit whose goal is to help trans folk pay for surgery. They do numerous fund raisers. Go to there website for more info. jimcollinsfoundation.org. I also heard from a very reliable source, that Vt. Blue Cross/Blue Shield now pays for trans related expenses up to a life time max. I am just curious how many of us are married. I am married , 5 kids all grown . My wife is not only understanding but my biggest support and has gone as far as to give me her blessings for a full transition without fear of loosing her. Well it is settled , next week I am heading to court to get my name legally changed and with my wifes support and blessing , Victoria Anne will legally , finally be here I am so giddy I just can't wait.
