My wife reminds me every day of how she can't live up to the supposedly perfect models on Television and in the magazines. I feel there is a distinct connection between Transgender people especially those with a male body and bio XX women who have masculine features or are simply dealing with weight and other self-esteem issues. It seems that for most of us there is this super self-consciousness of what people will think. In fact even those thoughts are feminine aren't they. What types of positive thinking methods could we use to remind ourselves each day that it's fine to work at being beautiful but the real beauty comes from within and in accepting ourselves as we …

I am going to say less and listen more on this one I am posting. I am becoming more comfortable in public situations, especially with friends, but 3 times in the last month I have had car trouble, twice where I was towed off the road, and a few times needing to deal with auto repair shops. Each time I was not completely feminine as I did not have make-up and was dressed conservatively. I am starting to really fear those unknown times when I may find myself face to face with people that will probobly recognize me as a man and discriminate me in an unknown matter even to myself. Some situations you just cannot walk away from. Until I am more confident I really fear th…

Ok so I decided to really take off on my transition and to become more relaxed as to who i am. Since doing so, when i am dressed how i am suppose to be dressed, ive been getting hit on a lot by other guys. I really do not have words to explain the happiness or euphoria i go through when this happens.Or even the excitement when you smile at them and say "im sorry not right now ok?" Its so new to me. To have this unique position on the sexual social ladder. Its very fun and flattering but wisdom is a must lol. Or youll be saying yes to everyone just because you're too flattered. Transitioning. Loving it!!

Hi! I'm new here, and I've recently been searching the internet high and low for information on Female to Male Transitioning for my love. My love, R, has been my girlfriend for about 2 years now. I love her so much, and sense we have an honest relationship, R has just told me that she feels like she's in the wrong body. (sorry if I'm messing up pronouns) Truth be told, she is my first relationship at all, and so coming to terms with liking the same gender proved a difficult task, but only in the way that telling my parents was a nightmare. Now it's R's turn to tell her parents, not just about being in love with me, a girl, but about wanting to transition into a male. The …

I seriously need to get this out because its driving me nuts. My brother loves to nitpick about everything. He does it to everyone in the house. He also loves to threaten. He knows i need his car to get him and I both to work. Well he gets a bug up his rear and right away he starts crap with me. I could just be sitting there minding my own business, and he'll start shit. His latest thing is my license. No I dont have one but he claims i should have a long time ago. I said its alittle hard to do when you noone is willing to allow you the use of their car to do so. Hes like thats not an excuse, i gave you a car, all you had to do was fix it. I said why fix the car when you …

I missed many opportunities early in my life because I thought I was alone. There were people to help me as a child, but fear kept me from telling them the truth. Here is what finally changed my thinking. I reached a point where I recognized that not one human being that has ever walked the earth knew all the answers. Some people would say Jesus knew it all, for those that believe he is God, However outside of that whether you are poor or the richest person on Earth we all face the same unknown answers to some very big questions. After careful thought over many years I finally decided to look more at the facts of my own being rather than always looking at the ab…

For fourty years I have been molded and shaped into a person who represents the classic stereotype of a good Christian, loyal American, and Caring Father and Husband. I have done well in school and followed the instructions of many teachers, employers, fellow classmates, friends, and co-workers. I grew a business that has provided an adequate but below average income for ten years now. As long as I have done everything as carfully prescribed my life had meaning to others and people approved. However with every passing year I became more and more depressed. Why? Because I began to learn more and more about the real self within me. The self that had good things to say…

I've been really busy with school for a long time, and now I'm leaving to find a job--hopefully there's good work out there for someone with a Master's in math. I'm looking into becoming an actuary or a government mathematician. Now that I have time to post things here, I thought I'd tell you all how things have been going, for those members who remember me. I started a thread some time ago, about baby hunger and how awful it is for us to be unable to have babies. Like some of the people who responded to that thread, I solved that problem by finding the right species of pet for me. Last September, I adopted two female guinea pigs, and since then, we have added t…

My life came to a standing point, I just couldn't continue on suppressing my true gender identity forever. After a meeting with my gender specialist, and telling me my diagnose, I returned home and started cleaning out my closet, throwing away my male clothes or clothing that was gender neutral. Now that my closet was empty, it was time for my MTF transition to begin, but I ran into a problem called fear. Fear of what people might say or do, once they seen me come out full time in women's clothing, and how well if I passed at all? After string awhile in the bathroom mirror, I finally steered up enough courage to call the cab, to drop me off at the WalMart department store…

It has been 3yrs that I've been seeing my gender specialist/therapist, and during my last appointment meeting with her, she addressed male pronouns on me, although my true gender identity/expression is female. During my last conversation with her, she explained about my life living as a "man"? I frowned at her comment, although I'm not denying about my biological gender, its just her terminology that upsets me, I find it hard to believe that I lived my life as a "man" since I always acted like a girl, playing with my Barbie dolls, among other things that I already told her about my past life, that things boys don't go threw. Perhaps I might be over reacting, and that it m…

Major Update: Hello Everyone, I would like update you all on what has been going on in my life. In January of 2009 I first entered this site but was to afraid even to log in. by February of 2010, I had just about given up on life. A nice moderator named Felisha chatted with me for about 3 hours. the next week I started reading the various stories that you have all put out there for us. within 2 weeks I finally accepted my being transgender and decided to get help wherever I could get it. I called a therapist who specializes in transgender issues and she evaluated me for the seriousness of my case. I learned all about electrolysis and did my own electrolysis …

I know i'm probably not the only one going through this type of situation. The one where you're going to college and staying with a few relatives. You might thing this isnt so bad right? Well wrong. I get treated like the outcast everyday. I get called Lesbian, Dyke, and other countless names involving my own personal situation. I have a brother that moved into the house temperarly with his fiancee and their 2 year old son. I liked that idea til my brother told me to my face that he doesnt care about me. He tries to dominate and act like hes my father (I dont have one anymore, because I disowned him) and he has no right to say sh*t to me about anything. The one parents i …

I didnt want to sideswipe JessicaSideways topic so I started this one on the subject of 'admirers'. From being here a while i know that admirers seem to be frowned upon. And I am wondering if there is something that is inherent in an 'admirer' aside from the fact that they would prefer to be with a transgendered person. In a perfect world a straight biological man would prefer to be with a female, and that female could be cisgendered, or transgendered. But i don't think that is actually how the majority of men think, at least not yet. An admirer is someone who is attracted to transgendered people, and why is that objectionable. I have a cousin, she is not transgender…

I always heard the statistics about suicide among us but it never hit home as it did tonight. I just came home from work and this email was in my inbox: To Kareal, Excuse me Kareal, but I have to give you a message from Sharon, before I will do as she asked me too, and close down her account on FB. A few days ago, Sharon has passed away, after a long fight against her cancer and depression. She never told you that she knew so well how you felt and what you were going through. She wanted you to be strong and fight, as you had a chance to win, she didnt. It was her time and she was not strong neough to win the battle this time. I have to tell you that she loved…

I was just curious as to what some thought about the idea of never revealing your gender history, to anyone, once transition is completed. Of course this is only possible if one has actual surgery. If no one knew your history genderwise, like all your family disappeared or something, would you still reveal?

Hi everyone. Been a long time since I have posted. Been working hard at making my transition work. Writing because I am feeling overwhelmed. I have so many things I need to take care of to stay in good health, and can't find a way to make it all work. I am so tired of working a job where i consistently face discrimination, tired of dealing with the same in my neighborhood, and tired of not being able to come up with a constructive way out! I try my best to be a good, honest, hardworking person. Seems these days, that don't count for much. I dare say that prisoners in solitary confinement have more freedom than I do. Sorry, just needed to sound off.

Hi everyone. It has been a long time since I have posted here. As of tuesday my legal name change has been printed in a newpaper. I was almost moved to tears. Now I await my affidavit so that I may change my social security, I.D and all other documents. Also I am in grooming academy to become a petstylis. Everything is going well and I love how things are going. I have been full time since January, my name change is almost complete and I am embarking upon my first career. I feel so lucky and accomplished. Thank you all for listening. -Nikki

After much thought and discussion with my wife we have decided I am going to take the next step . It is our goal that by years end I will legally change my name but with a minor concession to protect my job,I know that sounds silly but I cannot afford to risk my livelyhood. This means I will retain my first name with Victoria Anne as my middle but I will get an ID card ommitting my first name. For now this an excepptable compromise but none the less it is a step forward and I feel good about it.

Hi everyone. Recently I just started going to electrolysis on my face, trying to thin out my facial hair and eventually have it all gone so I don't have to shave anymore. But that isn't my reason for posting this. I had a question for others who are transitioning and either going through or have done electrolysis. Which do you think is better: 1. Doing electrolysis first and then starting hormones 2. Starting hormones at the same time as starting electrolysis 3. Hormone therapy for a few months and then starting electrolysis I'm sure everyone else has started at different times and I was wondering if one way works better than another. Its a little late for me…

I'm sure many of you have seen or even participated in a "womanless" beauty pageant. The "femulate site" has many in depth looks at some of the best pageants. Just Google it and look around on the site. In addition have you've seen any of the Japanese TV shows that dress high school boys as real attractive girls? Very impressive! We will never see a TV show (no pun intended) in this country like it! You have to sort through the "not so good" with the American shows to find the contestants who have either worked hard at being a girl or have a lot of practice! Maybe Mom wanted a daughter? Well she got a pretty darn good looking son for these pageants. All of this brin…

So, Family Guy is a pretty offensive show, on its surface. It's clearly meant as satire. All of the characters have major personality flaws (like pretty much everyone, right?), so when views are expressed on the show, it's often through the lens of someone who clearly has no clue what they're talking about, which should likely impress upon you that it's wrong. In a new episode of Family Guy titled "Quagmire's Dad", the character Glen Quagmire's father returns home for a celebration of a successful military career and then, as it turns out, to get a "sex change". There were glaring misconceptions in the story which may have been used as plot devices to craft a 30 min…

"There are three passages one from god in the old testament, one from Jesus in Mathew and one in Act's when the holy spirit directed Philip to teach and baptize a eunuch. Be armed with this when people confront you with 'it's against my religious upbringing'." -Kellibusey, Post #11 of the thread "refused business at salon." i'm not familiar with the passages that kelli has sited above so maybe i need to go do a little reading, but i have to wonder why philip had to be told he should teach and baptize a eunuch (i'm assuming it might have had to do with some stigma attached to eunuchs at the time). and i don't really see where this is applicable to [trans]women. the r…

I have looked into my states rules on changing my name. The process seems straightforward. If I was single and alone things might be easier, but many people strongly identify with me as a male because of my past and my traditionally male name. I like the name Amy very much, after writing so much on this website and becoming friends with other transgender members I really do feel like Amy as well. My mother always told me that if I was a girl she would have named me Sarah Jane. Since my mother did not know whether she was going to have a girl or boy when she was pregnant she had a boy and a girls name picked out. I can't help but think that my name really is Sarah b…
