  1. A few days ago, during conversation, I commented that it would be nice if my mum would accept that I am TS. I don't expect her to understand, just accept. Then I went on to say that no one can understand what it feels like to be TS - not unless the individual is him-/herself TS, or has deep issues or concerns about his/her gender, or is IS and discovering that whatever sex/gender doctors decided the child should be...turns out to be wrong. My conversational opponent got a bit jacked-up and said that I cannot say what people understand, and that I could not say what he understands - that it was insulting to him for me to say he could not understand. I insisted that he c…

Hi, I'm still very new here and have read lots of other peoples questions, concerns and stories about the experiences they’ve had prior, during and after transition. I share similar stories and concerns and have asked many of the same questions. We trans-women and men share many of the same beginnings and realities, details vary and many have lost plenty. I don’t want to be too vague however if I start at the beginning of “my” story this topic would be more of a novel and I’d like to get to the point of which is bothering me at this point of my transition. I’ll start with a lil’ info on where I am as of now. I came out to my wife (then girlfriend) as a cross dresser y…

Well, that old brick wall called FEAR has me stopping again. I have always been... well in the closet... or the house as is my case. My TG issues have always (with one exception a few years back) a private world just for me. After reading the forums here and seeing all you gals venturing forth with your lives, I started thinking about breaking out of my protective shell a bit. Here in the middle of the Bible Belt of the Country in a state called IOWA, there is few if any TG resources. Anyway, I have recently discovered that a threapist in TG related issues has a practice locally. I even sent an inquiry email to confirm this. So here I am looking at a phone numb…

I’ve had many occasions when I just thought, this is not going to be easy so I tried to go back and just be a male. I’ve spoken to several people who have had the similar doubt. Each time finding out the same thing, I can’t go back. I could fake it, but it doesn’t feel right. No matter how many times I’ve tried to put it out of my mind and out of my life I’m not even fooling myself. Therapy has helped a great deal and I know now that I’m on the right path and as hard as it may be I’m going to continue my journey. I suppose I just wanted others to know that this almost certainly happens to everyone and with time and help you’ll choose the appropriate path.

There have been many posts about coming out and the effect it haves on the ones around us. Our relationships with friend’s family and loved ones ... I myself have posted about it and have discussed things in response to the posts of others on here. I have sorted through problems and have been understanding and patient with the people in my life. I have answered all questions when asked (accept when they’ve been inappropriate), I’ve put my feelings second and have been patient with all and have not closed any doors (I have watched a few close though). I have grieved the loss of a few close friends and my tears have soaked my pillow and I have felt many dry on my cheeks as …

I just went thru a 6 day v-eeg test to find the cause of : lack of restful sleep, staring spells, involuntary trembling, teeth grinding, and other problems. stress siezures are very real and show normal on e.e.g's they have to be seen happening. The cause of course is stress. our lives as transgenders have potential for some stress. good news, these siezures can stop when the stress level goes down. they can be medically controled. some effects: migrains, ibs, fatique, confussion, memory loss, Some psycoligits are not trained to handle this so one may have to be found. all of this is from my notes during my hospital stay last week. i thought it may be helpful. most …

So, even though I've been on this forum for almost two years now, I'm still not out or transitioning... or am I? It's really hard to say and I wonder how often people get into a similar situation and for how long... I've come out to some people and been outed to others, but I don't present as female in public. Then again, what exactly does that mean? Do I have to wear makeup and women's clothing to be considered a woman? Where exactly is the line that I cross to be considered out? Is it when every single person I know knows that I'm trans? Is it when every one of the people I see on a regular basis knows that I'm trans? What if everybody knows, but not a single …

It's been six years since I came out as transgender. I remember during this time six years ago that I just discovered that I was a crossdresser. I was shocked to say the least. I went into denial reasoning that it was just a phase. How wrong I was! for several weeks I was tense, irritable, and miserable. On July 26, 2005 I came out to myself as a crossdresser. All the tension and stress dissipated immediately. I felt a sense of calm, relief, and liberation. It was a short time later that I felt that my experience ran deeper than just the clothes I was wearing. When I read about transgender, it connected with me. Now I knew that I was transgender and a crossdresser. …

Ok , I set upon the presipus of despair , what is it that frightens me so , why must this anxiety constantly appear at the most ubscure times , depression constantly trails close behind , I often wonder what draws us all into these sort of problems , especially when we live , dress , and for the better part of this life feel some what ok that day , and then for what appears to be no reason ( BAMM ) the fears of old drag us back into fear the Elephant returns to its place upon our chests , and the depressing thoughts we believed we had finally driven out of our lives returns in force , possibly no were as elevated as before but there it is none the less . 13. I have noticed an uneasy trend among the transgender community. I am not saying it is everwhere and it is with every transgender person but it is something that I have been seeing more of and that is the "over bearing of our rights and ideals" against people who do not deserve to be attacked. I am an activist and I volunteer with many humanitarian not for profits to push equality for all LGBT people. With that said, there is a right way of going about doing this and there is a wrong way. Thw wrong way is to send angry letters to everyone "you heard" have been unfair to us. Please, before sending out angry letter or emails to someone you "heard about" on the internet…

Some time ago there was a link posted here to a TG questionaire developed to identify where one falls in the male-female spectrum. As I recall there was a scale of +1500 (being 100% female) to -1500 (being 100% male). If anyone could provide me with that link it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Erica.

Hello friends, I am writing to let you know that i have completed orchiectomy.. I feel very calm and satisfied with the decision to have this procedure first as I could offord it now and was able to get clearance as well. It is very strange to wake up with absolutely no sexual desire. Recovery is a process and I hope to have some feelings come back, but when the doctor said this is it, Yes this really is it. My body is no longer fighting testosterone and even without estrogen I feel extreme calmness and peace. I am also very happy that I did my complete name change and id changes before this procedure. Then to everyones surprise, two days later I was rushe…

For the past ten days or so, I have sensed that a shift in my gender identity has occurred. I can only think and see myself in feminine terms. Even at night lying in bed, my thoughts are continually on the feminine spectrum. For the first time, I felt some discontent as a male. This never happened before. My wife also sees that everything from clothes to general life is in a feminine perspective. This past Sunday I was strolling along the streets enjoying the sights and sounds of the city. I felt an overwhelming contentedness because some situations that I was ill at ease in before didn't phase me. I talk with the public, use public accomodations without fear, and have…

Hi Girls/Guys, Well I finally feel at peace now, I finally lost my virginity with a guy for the first time last night and it was amazing. I was so scared at first feeling guilty about doing it ( my old christian beliefs planted in the back of my mind )and that afterwards I would feel sinful and dirty. But I didn't, he was so kind and we took everything nce and slow, he made sure I was always relaxed. It was great!! At first we just kissed ( Well I'd never even kissed a guy!! ) I thought I would be grossed out by his designer stubble touching my face, but I wasn't, I thought beforehand the little christian voice that always tells me I'm a sinner for doing this or doi…

Hey everybody! My name is Emily, and I got to university in the UK. I've been elected as one of the campaigns officers for my LGBTQ Association, and one of the issues that I would like to focus on throughout my term in office is trans representation. However, (possibly due to lack of campaigning/visibility within the association), there are no people who are openly trans who are willing to talk to us about the issues that they face and things that need to be changed. I suspect it's a vicious circle - people don't know that we represent them, or don't see anybody who is comfortable enough to talk about it, and so they don't come to us and work with us, so people don't …

Hi everyone my girl name is Amy and I'm 19, from Northern Ireland (or Ireland to people outside the UK) I used to crossdress a long time ago, might have been when I was 14 or something! But some things changed round the house and now I don't want to risk doing it anymore I wont make this a dramatic thing - I'm in a wheelchair and live an almost fully independant life, I live with my parents (at the minute) and that is why I don't currently dress girly. I don't want to transistion I'm happy with who I am though I get pretty into my crossdressing hehe anyway that's my intro of saying 'Hi' wb Amy

Hi everyone. Just found this site the other day. I'm mtf, began my transition 12/09 and things are finally starting to show. Just took the big step yesterday of telling HR at work. Not quite ready to have them go out and tell everyone just yet, but the times getting close. Anyways, I would love to meet other girls around the NYC area who would like to chat, maybe get together sometime etc. I'm a great listener and fairly bright (so i tell myself.)
