  1. I have a definitely burning question for my own personal experiences to share and ask ANYONE about if they got hired dressing up in girls or men's clothes from being opposing genders?? I myself have been to 2 interviews and the HR person didn't call me back for the job position. I know I was over qualified & the position was sales merely not technical position. I have however been advised to go as male get the job and after 6 months at work drop the bomb of coming out as a girl. Now I have also remained in my dual genders for the purpose of getting hired in executive job where I know over there it's absolutely no for accepting trans folk. I am not saying in negativ…

Hi All I blogged (https://daniellaargento.wordpress.com/) about a recent outing to the mall. I would like to know what you all think about what happened. https://daniellaargento.wordpress.com/2015/01/19/a-shopping-trip-spoiled-by-a-jerk/ I remain somewhat conflicted. Did I do the right thing? Should I have done something? Really not sure. Daniella

i wish i had a better job for many reasons...my current job would be impossible to start my transition and begin hormones. ..its not a trans-friendly place...its not even a regular friendly place...its just a retail store in a not great part of an inner city...me wanting a better more friendly work environment is not just an excuse to delay taking hormones...its a legit concern

I've appreciated the Forum thread "Questions From Spouses/Significant Others Of A Person Who Identifies As A Transgender Person Or Is A Transitioning Transsexual" and started thinking it might be interesting to gather a list of questions that we deal with. Maybe some are ones you already have answers for - great! I'd like to also know those. I probably just haven't thought of them yet. But more than just the questions, what are your thoughts and answers? I'd very much like to hear your perspectives. The questions below are in no particular order; I grouped them a little and hope that helps: On Being Transgender - Am I really transgender? The reason I ask myself t…

I think it is fantastic that people get together on the phone like this which creates a safe haven to actually talk to each other. Sorry I had to jump out but had a call from my mother.

  8. Hi everyone! It is my pleasure to announce the initiation of taking harmones in order to go to the next stage in my life. After living 4 years on and off as cis women, I have finally decided to go for breasts development or via harmones. I have over in past 2 years meet real transgenders like me but with using harmones and to see their breasts development. I honestly wasn't that impressed as in my head the bay watch models and huge breasts come to mind? But those are perky, apple or oranges well I thought to let you know harmones don't get those types! So the need for surgery is required at all cost for "perky" breasts to say minimum. And my final question is down t…

The topic may seem a little off. I am a business woman and probably soon to be in the media as I am spearheading my own thoughts on the Unisex bath room issue at the University of Virginia . Besides that, own a design firm that makes models and movie props as well as renting antique cars . Because of this , I have to look like a business woman . I see so many Trans women dressing ether in club wear or dressing in something that looks awful on their body shape . Now TG Guide members ,would you want to participate in photos of clothing that looks correct for the work place or provide advice ? Lets talk !

This has been a curiosity of mine for years, so I'm going to throw it out there: trans people when you dream are you male, female or neither in your dreams? After my GRS I would sometimes dream that I still had my old bits. Needless to say, this would cause some consternation! It went on for years (I'm 17 years post-op), though they have faded (thankfully!) and now I'm either not aware of my gender in my dreams or I'm female. What are your experiences? All the best!

  12. Brad Glemser | June 18 2013 4:19 AM ET "I was flying through Miami, and after I went through a body scanner, the TSA officer wanted to pat down my chest. While doing so he felt my chest binder, which I wore every day and which the scanner had consistently detected under my clothes and flagged as an "anomaly." I told him it was a back brace. Calling it a "binder" — something used specifically by transgender men — had often prompted extra thorough pat-downs by airport security. Calling it a back brace meant that I didn’t have to disclose my transgender identity to TSA officers and to other travelers standing nearby." --advocate.com Flying While Trans - Commentary …

  14. I finally found a hairstylist that will take care of my hair thanks to my mom. Before this happened,I have been told to leave and will not be served. My mom talked to her hairstylist,Joanne and said she proudly does transgendered women too.Walked in meeting Joanne yesterday and we hugged. She seen my hair was a mess and we discussed options for me.Told her that I wanted something simple to take care of and one of the styles Joanne mentioned was a bob cut.I picked that and I always liked Heidi Klum's hairstyles.I seen this one and picked it, http://www.whairstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/heidi-klum-long-bob-hairstyle.jpg Went to work and I was a little emotional saying …

Hello, I am a married male, with four children. And yes, like so many in this world, I have a hidden secret. As far back as I can remember and thatthats pretty far, I have always felt out of place. I have always felt different from my friends, even my own siblings. I always played with dolls and baby dolls, but living in such an extremely abusive home, I spent a lot of time away from society, locked away in a makeshift prison cell, my bedroom. I spent a lot of time alone, locked away from everyone. I had alot of time to think and daydream. I always pretended that I was a girl. I would always dream about being a female singer, standing on stage a singing my heart out. As I…

  17. Hello Everyone, I have a question - I have seen a lot people talk about positive impacts of a participating in a local support group. On the other hand I seem to be running into some problems. What has your experience been in participating in your support group? The problems: I live in a very conservative area - I managed to find a support group, but wanted to ask some questions regarding how public the meeting place is and so forth - if you can change at the meeting etc. It seems when I ask to attend there is no issue getting invited, meeting times, and so forth, but when I ask specific questions, I get a lot of silence - no response. Am I violating some unwr…

I can’t believe I actually did this. My wife and I decided to go to the mall tonight. Nothing out of the ordinary. It’s a relatively small mall. We had been there a couple hours, hit a few stores, and were at the last store we wanted to go to which as a jewelry store. I always like looking at their watches. I’m a Citizen snob. Anyway, we were in there and I reached up to scratch my jaw, and that’s when I noticed it. I hadn’t shaved for probably 3 days. I was instantly mortified. Adrianne hadn’t noticed, because typically, if I’m not going out on any given day, I’m too lazy to shave. So it’s nothing unusual for her. But when I realized it and asked her, she told me it was …

Hello my name is Ariana (or at least I think I want it to be) I am AMAB 30 years old and think I am experiencing gender dysphoria. I struggle because I have a lot of repressed memories from my childhood. The first time I can remember experiencing wanting to be a girl physically was when is was 10 years old although I have glimpses of a memory of being younger and remember my conservative Christian grandmother saying something to me (I can’t remember what) that makes me feel sick to my stomach but it’s such a distorted memory it’s hard for me to tell if it ever happened. When I was 10 the Scooby Doo movie. There is a scene where Fred’s soul gets trapped in Daphne’s body. I…

  20. I've been thinking about Tuesday now since Yesterday, ( Sunday ) when I was sitting in for our receptionist at the host church which will hold our local TDOR. I spoke to several people in the church who had no idea of what it was to be one of us , transgendered . I explained to one lady who was denied Pierced ears until she was 38 ! I said , "see, you're now living out you're life as you want. " She questioned me again . I explained to her how in Virginia at least , Electro Shock therapy was administered to us as late as 1980 ! I was warned a couple of times when I tried to come out in the early 1970's that being transgendered in Virginia could have easily gotten me…

Hey everyone. So I don't know who else get's this feeling. I'm a part of a support chat room...thing and I get mixed reactions. Of course there's that one head strong woman who "Understands" but makes you feel like disappearing every time she's there. ANYWAY. Yesterday at work, I was feeling extremely inadequate next to the people I work with, why? Because their all cisgender. All I could think was that I wish that I was born like them. Personality wise, yeah i may be like every other 19 year old, but here's this one "Trait" of mine that isn't. Every time I'm in a classroom full of people or with friends I'm automatically clouded with absolute depression beca…

I have been dressing up quite a bit the past couple of weeks. I desire to dress up more now. My spouse has noticed and she is somewhat bothered by it. She wrote a poem about my desire to be a woman rather than a man. I understand how she feels. She fears that she is losing the male person that she married. I tell her that I’m the same person. I’m not really surprised by her response because I thought that this day would come. Things were quiet for a while. I sense that another shift is coming. I guess the holiday season may have triggered it because there have been more opportunities to dress. Just the other day I saw a transgender woman as I was crossing the stree…

  24. Started by Hawkman,

Just posting from my own experience. In becoming myself, i used to get so offended if someone i thought cared about me, would use wrong pronouns. I believe if someone in my life is not intentionally doing these things, then i need to not be offended. In talking to my Mom yesterday, my Mom, in referrring to me, said 'she'. And then, immediatley corrected herself. And she was so afraid that i would take offense. I told her, I know you are trying. No offense taken. I believe acceptance has to be a two way street. Yes, we demand acceptance from others. And, we need to accept the fact that even when they do...they might mess up once in a while.

  25. Started by Emma,

In another thread I saw a couple of members say something like "well, we all started as crossdressers." And as I read that I thought well, yeah. But no! Heck no! I suppose I wanted to crossdress but I didn't think of it like that at all. I thus think it would be fun for us to post something about this. And to get it started, here's a few words about me: I was probably 4 or 5 when I realized how much I envied girls and wished I could be one. I remember situations at nursery school, playing with the girls - it just felt right and lots better. But somehow, although no one told me, I felt awareness that it was wrong. I was 7 when I talked my father into taking me to se…
