  1. In the thread " (by Stephani), I read the following in Ellen's (tbirdgal) post to the thread, "...various laws in several states requiring the three pieces of clothing on you at time of arrest are still on the books..." I didn't want to de-rail the thread, so I thought I'd create a new one that might spark some discussion...because this inquiring mind wanted to know what this meant. I didn't want appear too stoopid, so I tried to google it first - what I found would dictate whether or not I created this thread . In a wikipedia article, I found the statement, "women were required to wear three pieces of feminine clothing, and would be arrested if found not wearing th…

Hello, I have been on hormones since November 2011. I usually take my one E in the morning with an anti-androgen and then one E in the evening with another anti-androgen. Is it okay to do this, or should I be taking all the E at the same time? Thank you, Emily

Hi! I'm new here, and I've recently been searching the internet high and low for information on Female to Male Transitioning for my love. My love, R, has been my girlfriend for about 2 years now. I love her so much, and sense we have an honest relationship, R has just told me that she feels like she's in the wrong body. (sorry if I'm messing up pronouns) Truth be told, she is my first relationship at all, and so coming to terms with liking the same gender proved a difficult task, but only in the way that telling my parents was a nightmare. Now it's R's turn to tell her parents, not just about being in love with me, a girl, but about wanting to transition into a male. The …

  7. I found this article and it was really enlightening to something I hadn't really thought about before. We all talk about our issues here, but now that I think about it, I can't think of any talk from or about being nonbinary here. If there is anyone who is, and struggles with this, this article could help. If not, it could still help the rest of us.

Seems over the past year I've noticed Teenagers to early twenties are exploring, looking for crossdressers and trans to experiment with.Teenagers who say are cisgender male, post pictures saying this is me. A good deal of the time they have hips which no male could had been born with. They are attracting many followers. I truly have to wonder about them, trendy or looking for attention because they can't get attention otherwise.I have joined and left several Facebook private groups and notice the predominant topic is to have uninhibited sex. Many times asking for things I'm sure they would be sorry for if they actually get it.Many younger transgender get fricken upset of…

Hi all. As most of you know, I have been working in trying to get the DMV in my state to change policy for changing ones gender marker on a drivers license. In the past couple months, I worked with a State Rep to try to get the DMV to offer an exemption for people that might have a financial hardship or a medical one in meeting the 'complete surgery ' requirement, and, again, that fell on deaf ears. I even presented the case of how having a non-matching gender marker makes it impossible for one to find employment....but, no one cares. So, I guess it's time for me to stop my fight. To be thankful for what I do have, and let go of my dreams. You see, I had the dream t…

So yea, as I was checking my videos on youtube, I stumbled across a suggestion to check out this particular video. by the end of the song, I realized this is probably one of the most heartfelt songs written by someone who's watching trans person from the outside in. I think many of you will like it. Also, it helps that she's got a gorgeous voice. Also, Im sure many are curious if she's trans, but I think she is just a genetic woman who wrote a song about a trans friend or aquaintence.

  13. Dear Friends, Have learned a painful lesson today. The administrator of a gender conference introduced me to a couple who would be going my way on the way to a gender conference. Our communication was by text and e-mail only. Thought we had agreed to go on a Wednesday when they insisted that we had agreed on a Tuesday. This is the lesson I learned: MAKE NO ARRANGEMENTS BY TEXT OR E-MAIL! Insist on VOICE COMMUNICATION ONLY! If they refuse, don't do business with them! Luckily, I have a friend who had established VOICE COMMUNICATION with me who I am sharing a room with, and my experience with her is totally different! She has graciously agreed to go HUN…

Hi folks, I'm new here, and it's a good space you have here. I am a 49 y.o. pre-op TS who moved to Costa Rica several months ago from No. Calif. Since coming here, I'm looking for some resources for the LGBT folks and I haven't found anything. It is possible there is nothing here. I did an online search and found a LGTB group and emailed several weeks ago. No reply. Since moving here I am once again thinking about possibly transitioning. But I can't seriously consider it without knowing the specifics. I would like to know where I can get electrolysis done and what it would cost to remove my beard, how much breast implants would cost, and a number of other …

Hi, I am very apprehensive. I have just sent an email to my mother telling her I am gay. Now I am hiding in the corner waiting for the backlash. I think my Mom is cool this way, but I cannot be sure until she responds, I hope this goes well.

  18. I have just published my latest blog https://daniellaargento.wordpress.com/2015/04/10/unity-and-diversity-not-mutually-exclusive/ In which I discuss this excellent article http://mg.co.za/article/2015-04-10-00-i-am-genderqueer-comfortable-with-my-identity-at-last Which shows so nicely that the different parts of the broader trans* community really do have more in common than some may think. We really thus have so much more to gain if we act in concert...

So my landlady was here a while ago. She is elderly, uses 2 canes to be able to walk. Her friend who is also an elderly woman was with her. I noticed they were trying to do some stuff outside so went out to see if I could help. I don't see my landlady very often. She does know I have transitioned. Anyway, for the first 5 minutes, she kept calling me by female pronouns. (I guess full facial hair doesn't register.) But I decided to keep my peace. She is a nice lady and I am just not into being that easily offended anymore. Anyway, after that first five minutes, she looked at me and apologized. And all was well. We had a friendly, fun conversation. When she left…

A Twitter exchange between British comic Ricky Gervais and his ‘Idiot Abroad’ friend Karl Pilkington has sparked fury in the trans community, but is that the right response? 04 January 2013 | By Ashlee Kelly " Gervais, most famous in the UK for writing and starring in BBC series The Office and Extras, recently tweeted a quote from a conversation with his friend Karl Pilkington which has understandably upset some in the trans community." --gaystarnews Why I’m not offended by Gervais’ trans-gerbil tweet

  22. there have been many posts about various TG/TS-themed movies...i've seen a few, some okay, some not so okay. some of you may know that i'm not a real big fan of these movies. today...i saw "bicentennial man" for the first time. if you have seen this movie, you're probably scratching your head and saying, that was no TG/TS movie! you are right...it is not a TG/TS-themed movie. but this movie seemed to speak to me more than any such film ever has. robot andrew martin's struggle to first become free, and then to become recognized as human seems so much like my own dreams - first to transition, and then to be recognized as a man. thru his life, no matter how huma…

Hi guys. I’ve just joined here. I think I may be trans. I was born female. But I don’t feel like I am. I’ve came out to a few friends etc and started dressing more like how I feel on the inside. But then I started dressing back to the way I use to. Thing is. I’m 31 almost 32. And I don’t know I feel like I’m too old to transition. And plus I have two children and I’m terrified how it’ll affect them. Plus I know my ex will go mental if he found out. As he was very abusive towards me to begin with in our relationship so god knows how he’d react to this. My family would disown me. I’m just absolutely terrified. Anyone else on here was or is in the same position I am now? I’d…

  25. I Have been reading this book by John Maxwell, called, 'Talent is never enough.' If you ever want to read a book that will motivate you to be your best....have confidence in the man or woman you are...this is the book. He has a list in his book that I copied and taped to my frig. Thought I'd share that with all of you. Hope it helps you as much as it is helping me! Don't change just enough to get away from your problems - change enough to solve them. Don't change your circumstances to improve your life - change yourself to improve your circumstances. Don't do the same old things expecting to get different results - get different results by doing something new…
