I've been asked by someone I've interacted with for years now to provide resources, info, etc and more importantly request others if they may wish to contribute info... this is a UK effort, undertaken by the head of Greater London Domestic Violence Project... in other words, a chance to really make a difference for UK transfolk when it comes to these issues. All too often transfolk are shut out. I've seen results of davina's efforts in DV; a huge drop in UK fatalities from this cause. Those of you in the UK, and everyone for that matter... thoughts, ideas, whatever is welcome. From davina's email to me... Quote ...have managed to secure some funding to produc…

I used to have friends from every shade of the rainbow, butch gay males, fem gay males, stone butch lesbians, fem lesbians, and a few bisexuals for good measure....but once I came out about being trans they turned against me, called me a traitor and in a few cases physically attacked me.... I now only have 2 gay friends left, and even they get snarky with me for being trans. Did this happen to anyone else? Jay

THIS MESSAGE FOR OUR MESSAGE FORUM WAS RECEIVED VIA E-MAIL. I HAVE POSTED IT IN ITS ENTIRETY. IT'S VERY NICE THAT LOGO CHANNEL IS REACHING OUT TO US. Hi there! I saw your fantastic site for the transgendered community. You are offering a lot of information, which is great! I wanted to let you know about some shows that we offer here at Logo that may be of interest to your users. Since many people still do not receive our channel, we have created the opportunity to rent these shows and videos on DVD. Some of our transgendered titles include: Transamerican Love Story: A trans-dating show, starring Calpernia. Similar to The Bachelor, but stars a beauti…

Seeking a TG Events Volunteer at TGGuide I can't seem to keep up with transgender events. There are plenty of them occurring all around the world such as Gender Odyssy 2008 and Southern Comfort Conference (both happening in the next month or so). If someone would like to volunteer to search transgender events out and post them on our calendar I will be happy to set you up to administer the TGGuide calendar. It is all web based so no special knowledge is necessary, although familiarity with the search engines and how to conduct very basic online research will be helpful. Send me a private message or post here if you're interested. Lori

It pays a decent amount more than my last job. It will be nice to finally get things moving again. I haven't told them I'm a transsexual yet, and will tell them on friday when I start... Any ideas on a friendly way to disclose this to them?

Hello, and greetings to all! I'm a young newly transitioned FTM. I've never really met any others in the wide world of gender issues, and I was hoping to just have a place to come chat sometimes. To get the ball rolling- I'm currently on testo therapy weekly, I got all my legal documents changed and I'm engaged to be married. There, that's me in a nut shell. SO...how's it going one and all? Hi, I'm misty. I'm 44 years old and started hormones three months ago, low dose for the first two months, than ramped them up to an average dose for a month now. After about ten days on "low dose" my skin got soft and I started to smell sweet. After three weeks my legs got a little bigger, not much but look more girly like. I expected when I went on the "high dose" changes would happen, maybe I'm just impashent, haven't seen or felt any change, only a tiny bit more fat on my butt and legs. My breasts haven't grown any, haven't felt any tingling in them yet. How long did it take for you girls to start seeing breast growth?Did your breasts tingle? How long did it take for th…

After GirlInside mantioned the Kinsey Scale I thought I'd look it up and I found something by a chap called Fritz Klein wich takes the analysis one step further and is perhaps more subtle as a result Here are the questions, with my answers Past (entire life up until a year ago) Present (last 12 months) Ideal (what would you like?) A - Sexual Attraction: To whom are you sexually attracted? - Women B - Sexual Behaviour: With whom have you actually had sex? - I don't C - Sexual Fantasies: About whom are your sexual fantasies? - Men, but ony when I first picture myself as a woman D - Emotional preference: Who do you feel more drawn to or close to emotion…

I've been outside into the great unknown.... See normally i don't have the guts to venture out in the car when i put women's clothes on.... But last friday i had some problems with my car and eventually it started so i had to go for a drive, i couldn't just put it back where it goes because that would've been worse for it. So, here are some of the photos i took on friday night from my phone, and one from the camera before i went out

For the women: Do you think more highly of women than most genetic women seem to? For the men: Do you share any misogynistic beliefs with genetic men? (I won't be offended if you say yes.) My answer: As many of you know, I'm a feminist. Even a lot of feminists consider me extreme. A few things that are true of me but not a lot of genetic women I know: My entire concept of politics revolves around how something affects women (that includes transwomen). I don't care all that much about many other issues. For me, the average person is a woman. When I picture a person, it's usually a woman unless something strongly suggests otherwise. Someone who is not obviousl…

I read this line recently, written by a transman: I really like that. I feel the same way; I'm a kid at heart too, and I guess you could blame it on the fact that I never went through puberty, but just turned into a Neanderthal. This made me think of Jennifer Diane Reitz's response to a letter someone wrote her on a similar topic: http://transsexual.org/letters30.html So what do you all think? Any of you do anything to make up for your lost childhoods? Are any of you still kids at heart? I'd be interested in hearing other people's thoughts on this.

Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer. I'm 29 years old and I've been living as my true self since Christmas. I guess you could say it was a wonderful Christmas present to myself. It seems that all of my major moments have happened on extraordinary days, but I didn't intend it to be that way. The day that I finally decided that I was going to be true to myself was July 4th. Independence Day now has a much greater significance to me. :)

I am mad at myself. I have had this lumpy, rollypolly, extremely gross wad of waist fat that i promised myself I would lose in time for summer. well guess what, it aint gone, not even a small amount of the wad is gone. i have had some stress, i currently have one of my sweet rescue dogs in final stage kidney disease, i love her so much, she is not ready to be put down but i know it is coming. so i soothe myself with food, what an ass i am. i know dang well that me stuffing my face isnt going to help with her kidneys, so why do i do it. I am hopeless. So here it is getting beautiful outside, sunny and 70's, baseball games, vacations, and i had to go to Kohl's and buy…

Yesterday, I received a phone call and the caller thought I was my mom. After Annie mentioned guys mocking her "head voice" in the thread about people thinking we're gay, I thought I'd post it here. This happens to me all the time over the phone (very, very rarely in person). They think I'm my mom, or if they don't know me or her, they call me "ma'am." I guess I sound like an older woman to them. This is only strange if you know that I make absolutely no effort to sound more feminine when I speak. In fact, around guys, I make a conscious effort to sound more masculine. Has this ever happened to any of you?

Hello, I hope you all are well. It's been awhile since posting. I've been reading the new postings every day however. Today is the first time I've dressed in a few months. The anti-anxiety medication I'm taking has reduced my 'need' but not my interest in dressing. (BTW, the meds were *not* intended to reduce this interest, I think my anxiety was driving me to find outlets of which this is one) Today while going back to drab before my partner comes home, I began wondering. Am I one of those people who sacrifice large amounts of their individuality to satisfy those around? I usually think of myself as easy to get along with, and willing to accomodate others to k…
