http://www.harrybenjaminsyndrome-info.org/soc.html. There's a storm front coming in and that is a new definition to HBS, it is HBI. All of us have struggled throughout our lives to understand who we are, now we have a glimmer of hope. We are all "intersexuals." As we know this a "medical" term not "physcological." With this change to medical we now have a chance to get get the medical treatment we all need, including meds and surgeries. This is going to take time and patience. Many of us have had SRS and/or on HRT. Many have had to do it the hard way facing many obstacles and barriers, from medical indifference to social ostracism and even violence. This going to be an u…

I have had a number of laser sessions completed and have been on hormones for nearly four months. I am living full time in my life and at work. I want to move forward and take the next step in my transition. I want and will be seeking a legal name change. It is something that I am comfortable doing and it something that I am ready for. I don't even feel comfortable using my male name. -Nikki P.S I hope everyone's transition is going good and well.

Its a Sunday morning, as I got dress for church. I called my friend Aaron to ask him to ride over to pick me up. After a long wait, finally Aaron showed up, as I said hello while sitting down in the front seat. On our way to church, Aaron address to my attention that he had something important that he wanted to talk to me about? He explained that he would had invited me over to one of his friend's place, but due to the reason that he had his grand children along with him, and he explained that he doesn't want me around to confuse his grand daughter, because of how the way I dress and wear my nail polish. since I'm MTF. I told my friends about what between me and Aaron, an…

Hello! First post here, so I suppose an introduction is in order. My name is Michaela, I go by Kayla or Kay as the mood strikes me. I'm 19 years old, male-to-female, out to a few close friends and my sister. Pre-just about everything, long-since graduated high school and already a college dropout (yay!), live with my mom and sister in southern California. I was seeing a psychologist early last year, but she died a few months before I accepted my gender identity enough to actually tell anyone about it. For a number of reasons, I'd really like to start seeing a psychologist again, but I'm not quite sure how to find one who has experience with transsexuals, and I can't exact…

This might be a touchy topic for some of us who dont yet have kids but thought about it. I never really thought about it til recently. First with my brother and his fiance having a baby. Then I went over my aunts husbands sisters place. There was this little girl. Her mother didnt want her, and being this little girl is beautiful, I couldnt understand why she would just drop her off and leave her. I started holding and playing with the little girl. As the time passed, and I had visited her abit more. I offered to help watch her while this lady was at work. I found myself getting emotionally attached to this little girl. Now when I go watch her, it hurts everytime …

I'd really like to see this, however I don't own a television set, so I guess I'll just have to wait till it makes it's way to the YouTubes. Anyhow, I figured I'd put the link up here in case anybody else would like to check it out. And of course, I'd love to hear any comments anybody has about this program too. ~Shannon http://ontopmag.com/article.aspx?id=3242&a...amp;Category=16

Hi All, I hope it is not seen as inappropriate me posting on here (with other networks/groups I had asked the Admin for guidance on where to post, but this is such a huge board that I wasn’t sure which Admin/Moderators to contact!) So I don’t mean to cause any offence by hijacking the forum, and I hope that some of you will be keen to help. I am currently undertaking post graduate studies in Psychology and have chosen to carry out a research project on transgender issues. I chose this because I am part of the LGBT community myself and feel we are quite under represented as a whole in research, but transgender individuals even more so. Also much of the research …

Hey everyone. I am currently making adjustments to move from New York to North Carolina. My issue is that I have been on hormones for three months. I get them through a health clinic called Callen Lorde. They check my blood and everything. I know that in other states you have to go through all this therapy nonsense to get a prescription for hormones. Am I going to have a problem in North Carolina with getting hormones? Are there any LGBT friendly clinics that assist smoothly with hormone prescriptions? Transition is so very important for me. I cannot get held up by some therapist's approval.

Hi Girls! This is my first time on this site. I've been wanting to share something with the transgender community that I have developed to address a restroom issue. In Minnesota, I'am allowed to use the restroom of the gender I present as. The problem is when doing so it takes some time and struggle to get ready to relieve myself. (urinary) Then all has to be put back into place, sometimes with long fingernails breaking off or parts getting pinched and scratched. I came up with a device that uses an external adhesive male catheter, a tight fitting pair of panties, (gaff) and a plastic tubing connector incorporated into a styrene plate. The plate is sewn into the crotch …

I am just abit curious, open for all those concerned......I was five when I awoke to the realization that I wasn't me, at what point in your life had you realized that your body was not your own.....did it hit you all of a sudden or was it gradual..Did you awake in a cold sweat or just a calm over took you... did you get the preverbial light pop up over you and you just knew....and at that time was your name realized or did you have to find it hiding within you... I know at once what my name was it all came crahing down on me at once like a ton of bricks...( BAMMM ) I realized who I was completely....does this happen to everyone or just a few.... did you tell any one at …

To get everyone up-to-date; I have been in transition for four years, and am now a post-op woman living full time as such. Before and during my transition I suffered from a great deal of anxiety, largely due to my gender issues. These issues came to a head four years ago when my depression became so severe I was not able to make it through university. Through therapy, medication, and living my life the way I wanted I became a much happier and well adjusted person. I thought that I was finally well enough to take on school full time. After some success in arts administration I decided to take an Arts and Culture Management course at MacEwan College. I started part time …

I've never seen this question before and thought I'd ask. I had a vasectomy many, many years ago and I intend to have an orchi prior to SRS. By having a vasectomy first woud the orchi be less time under the knife? Would this alleviate the need for an anti-androgen? If we havwe prostrate problems; will this shrink the prostrate? With this procedure can we reduce the amount of estrogen and still get the same effect? I know many girls have the whole shooting match done at once; but as I never intend to have intercourse the depth of my vagina is of little consequence. I am seeing my endro today for the second time and will ask him also; but I …

Hey all. I am very interested in music, I have been all my life. I thought this was kinda funny and thought i'd share, I was listening to a song that I have listened to probably thousands of times before and for the first time I thought to myself that it sounded like what we go through when we're struggling with our GID and haven't told anyone yet. :-) Anyone else had any experiences like that? the Song i'm refering to is "Jane Doe by Within temptation" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFswItQAKR0 :-D The lyrics are below Why, you just won't leave my mind Was this the only way I couldn't let you stay Run away, hide away the secrets in your mind S…

Ok, so its not really relative to anything with gender or our usual topics of convo, but I just wanted to alert everyone that the new Fall Out Boy CD is out and anyone who appreciates a good voice, let me warn you, Patrick Stump (their vocalist) is a voice thats as close to God as anyone will hear. Everyone should give it a listen!

Surfing the web and looking at TG webpages, sometimes I've come across the idea of the "T-dar", that transfolk can be spotted (by some people). What got me interested in this is that back in high school I was often called fag, queer, or homo and got into a couple of physical fights because of it (no suprises there!) and while that happened to a couple of other kids, there was one insult that I only ever heard used on me: "dude, you're not male, I reckon you're a girl or something!" I tried hard to pass (the short hair! ) but even then the smallest thing (how I was sitting, my hand movements, giving an opinion in class and realizing that the girls agreed with me and…
