I was listening to NPR "All Things Considered" today. They are doing a series of broadcasts on transgender children. Todays' spot was about those who insist they are the other gender from an early age. Tomorrow is about transgender teens. Someone sent me the links to a few TG-related LiveJournal communities. I tried one, gave a brief introduction, said who I am, and wrote the URL to my site instead of writing the long story. Well, to make a long story short, a lot of people really didn't like what my site says. I have had a friend take a picture of me the first of every month for the last 28 months to show how HRT has changed me. They are like mug shots, front, back and side. It is interesting to see that you DO change. Is posting this of interest, or even ok to post? People on HRT might continue or stop if they really see it works. It's life altering for sure. These questions are about motivation and what sort of trade-offs you'd be willing to make. (Yes, they are very hypothetical.) FOR THE LADIES: If you remained your birth sex publicly and could experience pregnancy, would that satisfy you enough to not transition? What if by transitioning, you would lose the ability to get pregnant? FOR THE MEN: Is there any circumstance that could persuade you to bear a child post-transition? :huh: Ok I know this is in no way considered a "general transgender topic" but here it is anyhow. So i go for my yearly (well 2 years this time) mammogram, and the dr calls a week later and says they want to take an ultrasound on the right to see that these 2 tiny dense areas are cysts. Of course I started riddling him with questions, he told me not to get any grey hairs over this, it is common, they always error on the side of caution. An idea came up this morning in a chat session that I wanted to ask everyone about. Have your family or friends ever wondered if you were gay-- that is, in relation to your birth sex? And if you've been asked about this, how did it make you feel? Hello all! Well i'd like to first give a bit of background to the situation first then see what you guys/gals think. Several years ago when i was roughly 15 or so i decided i need to get my secret out about having issues about wearing womens clothes. As I've mentioned a few times, I make up for never being able to have a childhood as a girl by collecting "girl toys"--baby dolls, Disney Princess toys, Hello Kitty stuff, that sort of thing--and playing with them.
