So I don't remember where I heard this, but I heard you can take BC pills instead of getting hormone shots and get the same effects. Does anyone know if this is true? It's not really soemthing I'm considdering, just wandered if theres any factual basis behind it. Plus I'm sure the negative side effects would outweigh the positive. Tiff

I was at the Goodwill Outlet Store last night again, and saw .. I'm not sure if they were a CD or a badly not-passing TS, but ... Just like the type of people that people are always mentioning on here as "probably shouldn't transition" -- probably 6'5", very masculine facial features, uhhh moderately functional fashion sense, totally unmasked male voice. The heartening thing is that there were quite a few people at that place last night and I didn't see anyone giving them a second look really. I mean geez... people are always worried about what will happen if someone reads them, but it makes me feel a lot better about trying even if I don't 100% succeed at first. (Sorr…

Someone else on here sent me this link, it's most amusing Focus on Hallucinogens My comment after reading this was... Wow, why hasn't the trans community found this earlier? LSD turns you into a woman! *runs and hides*

The forum has been pretty quiet overall so I'm just going to step up to the mic here I've only been to two laser sessions so far, but after comparing some old pictures and looking at what I have today, I think the progress on that front has been pretty amazing. I don't have pics to share right now, but I've got some empty patches tonight, my upper lip has maybe 40% of the hair it used to, and most of the dark hair that's left is in my chin area now.. maybe 60% as thick as it used to be. Overall not too bad since I got a pretty cheap deal on it, and I have 3 more to go! I'll need some electrolysis later too, for blonde beard hairs as well as the "girl sideburns" area b…

I would like to know how to get a prescription for hormones to transition. I have been giving it a lot of thought processing who I am day after day. I am a woman. It has taken me time to come out to myself, but I except myself for who I am. I am ready to take my first steps to transition and live as I truly am. Can anyone help?

back in the *70s i saw a movie about a boy who's mother had raised him as a girl - A Reflection of Fear. the "girl" started killing people in the night, and used a broomstick on her female victims - don't think i need to go into any graphic detail there. when i think about this movie now...it seems to reinforce that man just cannot change or undo some things that nature has done - of course we know (or believe) that gender is one of those things. the mother in this movie put her child in girl's clothing, treated the child like a girl, raised the child as if a girl, but in the end, the child went on a [sexually frustrated?] rampage partly because in reality the child …

Hi, I'm a young adult and had a question about being transgender. I was wondering if you can be tg and don't really do girly activities. However, I had question my gender since being a teenager because i never could relate the men but could relate to women more. Does gender and sexual orientation differ. The reason is that i'm attracted to women instead men so i don't fit the typical tg scenario. I never dress before because i don't have any sisters and my mom clothes would never fit but i wanted to grow breasts since i was a teenager. I tried on a bra and it felt awkward at first but then i felt whole. I'm not sure if i could pass or not. I mainly do manly a…

Dear Jo jo, I sincerely hope you are well. I and many others in this forum have been concerned about you. As far as I know, you have not written any posts in awhile. You know how we are similar in certain ways, especially in wanting to be a female, making some efforts to live as a female, yet feeling a need to maintain existing marriages, thereby compromising some of our strongest inner needs. Jo jo, I hope again you are well. Best wishes. Koreen

Have any of you ladies ever went on to youtube to see all the transgender blogs there? It is amazing how much information about the trans community is on there. I use them as a resource for support, information and possibly guidance. I absolutely love it. It is fabulous to see all the information on the net.

I've been looking around the forum for the last few days, and I've decided to join up! I'm in my late teens, and I guess my story is similar to a lot of others: I remember I was four years old when I told a woman at daycare that I was a girl, I got along well with other girls in my childhood and was basically happy until (drum roll please!) I hit puberty. On the upside I could open pickle jars really easily but the rest of it - the unwanted physical changes, being one of the "weird" kids, thinking I was gay because I didn't date anyone - all that I would have gladly avoided, I have a male body but have always felt like a girl, so I guess that's why I'm here. I don…

I thought this deserved its own topic, because not everyone who may be interested or have something to say would neccessarily be reading the other thread. This is basically a place holder. I had something typed up as a reply in the other thread, but the site ate it. Gave me a "406 Error". So, I started a new thread and there's more to come. Pages 4 and 5 in the other thread are the "important" ones. Just be patient. It will take a bit to reorganize my thoughts and such, but I will get back to it.

Hi there! I finally decided to come out of hiding lol I've read many things here and found that I related to a lot of it. Well I guess I should say a little about myself. I've known for a long time that I should be female but was forced to act like my physical body's sex or at least try. I just don't know what to do about it. I can't tell anyone that's in my life about it. I could never tell my parents because they would never understand and I have no friends. I have a brother but we've been enemies for years. There have been many problems in my life and all those problems have been inside me. All the time, silently I had to deal with the torment inside while on the …

While Mike's away and unable to send me to the corner, I figured it'd a good time to get a good speech in. I really don't like the word "transition" and I'm not sure I like what it implies either. Before anyone starts throwing eggs/tomatoes/your food substance of choice... This all goes back to Kate Bornstein's Gender Outlaw book for me. It made me realize that I was still laboring under this strange social system called "gender". "Gender" is nearly as strange as one of the old feudal caste systems. In those systems, one was either born noble or not; nobility were one thing, and commoners were another, and that was that. It's strange to us now, but it was as simpl…

Hi everybody!! It's been a while since I checked up on this board. It's the way I operate really, but I do feel I was part of this community. I love you all and you gave me a great pillar of support when I needed it most. Thankyou all and much love. I've decided that I'm going all the way, I will be getting GRS asap. This isn't truely news, but my resolve is solid now. I will be getting everything, FFS and GRS. For me, and I stress for me as I know everyone's road in this is very different, it is what I need to do to be me. I am me on the inside. I am me in character finally. I am breaking the ice. Now I just wish to be able to see myself in the mirror. As me. So that,…

If you have wanted to do this and haven't gotten up the courage to do it, I really have to say... whatever reactions you were expecting from having bright metallic purple nails (and looking somewhat male still) are probably not what you were going to get, no matter what you were expecting. I think the enjoyment of throwing people's minds has kept me out of depression for the past couple of days. Saturday and Sunday I went to a party and hung out for a while at a new age store, respectively (among other random trips). I got no comments or really even glances about it. I mentioned on the other thread that I started this on Thursday afternoon, and then went to work wit…

I know that this is off topic, but does anyone here train in the martial arts. I figured it would be a fun topic to discuss. I have been training in judo myself for awhile now. ^_^

I read this in another thread, and rather than take that thread off topic, I decided to start a new thread. I'm exactly the same way in relationships--which is one reason I've decided to avoid them! The thing is, as women, we've subconsciously picked up the belief that we're supposed to be passive and submissive, especially to those we care about. But what are we supposed to do when we are told by those we care about that we are supposed to act like men? Do we discard all femininity in order to submit? Or do we act like men and assert privilege that does not exist? [robotic voice] DOES NOT COMPUTE!!! I had a male friend in middle school who obviously w…

Hi Everyone, I started my HRT last month. I did one dose with an injection. Although my Doctor said the pellets are much more efficient and less side effects. I am considering taking his advice and use pellets instead. Does anyone has used pellets for HRT? Is there any risk of infection or contamination such HIV or Hepatitis? What should I look at? What should I do? thank you everyone! Andrea

I might have to work in Vegas for two weeks and as a result I'm thinking all sorts of possible things to try. Chances are not much will come of this as my imagination is significantly larger than my courage. Still, I like the idea of doing a transgender makeover for a day or two once work is done. A few factors I need to take into account: 1. Vegas is somewhat familiar territory as I spent most of my teen years there (+20 years ago), 2. have no clue about transgender resources in the area, 3. parents still live there, they're elderly so I know where they won't be running into me, 4. limited budget, 5. interested in meeting other Ts (I'm not into fooling around so I'm …

:) In the spirit of the holiday, here's a few questions about a longtime tradition. Have you made any New Year's Resolutions? Are you planning to? Have you ever? What's the longest time you stuck to a resolution? What do you think the most common New Year's Resolution is? Annie

hey everyone - just thought i'd let you all know i'll be out-of-pocket pretty much as i'm off visiting my mum. well, actually... mama annie told me that i should let you all know why i'm not here. lol...women always think of things like that. anyway getting on my mum's computer is not the easiest and i'm thinking i've been fairly lucky today finding a wireless connection in the area. so...i'll check in when i can. may just read mostly since i dunno how reliable this connection is. i'd be mighty pissed if i started some kind of big philosophical debate or reply and someone (whoever it is). For the second time in my life I am experiencing my coming out, due to in large part by this message board which has meant the world to me. I can't help but feeling like this is my virtual family and support group. I really wasn't planning on coming out until my book was published in 2012 which is also the year that I retire. My wife has been acting so strange lately. I think it all started when she found a birthday card that I was sending to a friend that she didn't know so she opened the card that was meant to be mailed and it was signed Love Jojo. OMG! I was jumping through hoops trying to come up with a good story on that one. It seemed as if she was getting over tha…
