I don't want this to be a downer topic, but honestly, how likely is it a MtF will find a good man or woman after transitioning? I haven't a clue so am wondering what other's observations on this subject might indicate. From my own personal experience, within the gay community it is very hard to find a good, faithful, stable, employed, sane, loveable guy. Since the trans community is smaller I am guessing the odds are slimmer? MIWBJ

If you are interested, her show will be about transgenders, she has a HUGE audience, so lets hope it is done properly, with correct facts. Have a great Friday, I will check in later for a critique. -Kim PS) ABC 4pm Eastern time.

Hi, For any who are interested, I'll draw you a little head that you can use for whatever you need. I know some people are reluctant to post their pics up in any public space, so this might be a way for you to have a customized face that isn't as easy to recognize. Also, if you don't have any pics of yourself as your proper gender, just let me know and I'll try to dress you up. I'll do these for fun, and when I get the time, so please no rushing. Just email me a decent headshot, and I'll email you back when its complete. email to: tempest.menagerie (at) gmail.com

If there were a country you could go to where even the most masculine-looking man can live as a woman, and even the most feminine-looking woman can live as a man, and they could be accepted in their desired gender and everything without changing their bodies, would you choose to go instead of transitioning? (If you have transitioned, would you have chosen to go to that country if you could avoid transitioning by doing so?)

I did not wear much makeup for the longest time, but recently lost weight, and am feeling better about myself, so am starting to wear some make-up again. I have a very very favorite eyeliner, it is by Urban Decay, and the color I use is called Smoke Out. It is not waterproof so it comes off at night easy, but it stays on great all day. I highly recommend it! If you have some fav's, share them! -Kim PS) Sorry Mikey, nothing for you to contribute here. hehe

Something that came out constructively while I was discussing with the therapist today was, what exactly defines a man or a woman? Really there is no good definition based on any sort of solid, medical/scientific criteria. Chromosomes don't do it since you can have XX men and XY women, even ignoring TS. Fertility/virility don't enter into it because plenty of people don't have these functions, but are still considered men or women as appropriate. Even physical characteristics are no good because a man who's definitely a man could easily go get hormones and GRS and be totally miserable. I think really the only useful definition for a man or a woman is "that's what you b…

This is partially a question for GirlInside because I imagine this is all made much harder by an active decision not to transition. I'd be interested to hear what anyone has to say though. Ok, so you've told your friends and people close to you that you're trans. No one's blown up at you, everyone's been very supportive, given you the pat on the back for your self-discovery and being courageous enough to talk about it. (Well, that's been my experience so far.. haven't hit my family yet ) Now what? Here's what the effect has been on my relationships with everyone: people are a little weird talking about some topics now because they're afraid they'll offend me. …

It just occured to me a few minutes ago. After shaving my legs, I put some powdered base on to make them look nice too. Do I have to worry about the stuff getting on the furniture? If so, any suggestions to get that nice even smooth appearance without using base? What other unexpected surprises might the various kinds of make up have which newbies should be aware of?

Hi everyone. I don't recall if this has already been requested here so I am posting with the author's permission. She sent it to me earlier this year and so I have been writing my story since with many rewrites and only now am I noticing that I didn't send her request out to anyone. Hello all, My name is Robin Hamilton and I have been Crossdressing since around the age of nine years old. Suffice to say I have a lot of stories to tell during my 37 years on this crazy planet! This project is over ten years in the making and is now in full swing. I am in the process of compiling stories from people who X-dress, Significant others, Ex's, MTF, Pre and post-op TG's…

OK, maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill. Maybe not. I'm a bit puzzled about something I'd like to do. Will gladly listen to anyone's thoughts on the matter. I'm still thinking of dressing for Halloween, and it's occured to me that my makeup skills are nill. I was thinking of recruiting the woman next door to help me out once or twice to get some practice. I think she would be OK with helping as long as it's for Halloween. What has me concerned is for me dressing for Halloween might be a bit pseudo-sexual. I'd like her help, but because of this last factor I'm afraid I probably should not ask her to help since for me it might be a bit more than dress-up. I know I…

While I was doing things on the com. and listening to tv.I noticed a show on G called Taboo.I'm sure many of you have heard of it but today Sat. at 2-3 cst. they had a show about transsexuals and transitioning.I didn't catch to much of it but it showed transsexuals from many different countries. I found that Samoa is quite accepting of transgendered people. It also showed Dr. Bowers and many other places.I don't know if they'll have it on again and I didn't catch the title of the show but one can check their guide to see if it's on again if your interested. I'm here enjoying my 'first' time dressed, life is good. I'm actually fairly relaxed and not into libidinous overdrive (thank goodness!) I realize clothing and make-up does not the woman make, but for now, I can dress-up and pretend a bit. I've got on flowy pin-striped pants, a frilly white 'blouse', hose, flats, make-up and my nails painted. Not quite feminine looking but more elegant and softer than normal. I suspect I will remember this for some time. Do you remember your first time? P.S., while I've worn fem clothing before, it was just a piece or two. This is my first time with 'outfit' and make-up.

I actually went out en-pseudo-femme this evening for the first time. (Well, there were some false starts years ago, but let's just forget about that. ) It was only walking out to the car, driving 10 miles to pick up my wife and head home, and walking back into the house, but... wow, how wonderful. I had my androgynous urban grunge clothes but I had a pinkish shirt under my hoodie, a choker, my hair done in a feminine style, and the breast forms. I thought it was rather cute actually, and little possibility of mistaking me for a normal old straight guy. I had a "holy crap" moment when I first stepped out of my house because I don't know if I've ever felt so un-dissociat…

I know, not a common complaint, huh? Yesterday I was out with friends (equinox and all) and spent most of the time hanging out with the ladies in the group.. had lots of fun. We met up with an old friend we thought we'd lost by way of a jerk husband, and she had left him and was doing well. On the way home we were talking about boyfriends, girlfriends, and sundries with one girl we were taking home, and she said... I decided I didn't want to be a lesbian because I just like the 'guy parts' too much. So my wife pipes up and says, well, I get the best of both worlds because mine's trans! The other girl didn't show any surprise at all, she just said ohhh yeah, I dated one…

Hi everyone, I'm guessing this has been covered before but I couldn't find a specific topic for it. I want to know how other Ts have coped (or are coping) with 'angry explosions' at other people (like friends) who don't understand and touch a raw nerve when commenting on your gender. Or perhaps I'm just really touchy about it? I'm gonna vent a bit here so apologies for waffling but just to enforce my point... I am pre-op so everyone 'knows' me as a girl (even though I've been hopelessly presenting as male for a few years). I don't intend on having surgery any time soon, simply because I can't afford it. But through the way I look and also many verbal hints along the…

I'm always getting these spam mails, I'm sure you know the ones, "fix your problem down there!" and I can't help but laugh a little and think, really, you can sell me something that will do biological SRS for me?! But it got me to thinking.. is there anything that works the opposite of "blood flow increasers" like viagra? I mean, I guess for some people long term HRT does that. But it'd be handy to have something you could take for a day to make sure you don't have any uncomfortable reactions down there for whatever reason... I guess if all else fails there's the old standby, imagining my parents in bed

I was going to save this for therapy Friday but I figure what the heck.. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem. I like to sift through my brain one grain of sand at a time (that's what it's made of mostly, I think ) and try to tease out tangled messes of emotions, find causes of problems to confront them, and so on. Well, I found a really interesting (and kind of embarrassing, shameful) thing about myself that explains a whole lot: I have a prejudice against trans people. Which means I have a prejudice against myself...! This can't be good. Maybe this merits some extra explanation too, before anyone thinks I dislike them or something. Basically I understand…

My friend sent this to me: The effeminate sheep & other problems with Darwinian sexual selection. I thought the idea was pretty interesting. It really is striking how much standard theories of gender and sexuality try to toss out the "bad samples"...

A blog by Gabriel Rotello that appears in Huffington Post, October 4th 2007. I'm posting this as it might provide some food for thought and debate. link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/gabriel-rote...-t_b_67202.html I hope it is OK to do this. MIWBJ ************************* The decision by the Democratic leadership in Congress to eliminate transgendered people from ENDA, the bill to ban discrimination against gays in the workplace, has ignited a genuine firestorm in gay political circles. It's heartening to see that LGBT activists are coming out of the woodwork to insist that any meaningful bill that does not protect the transgendered isn't worth the pa…
