hey all, I found this neat little website that allows you to see what various clothes look like together, it also tells you the price it will cost in the store (target). I have chosen a couple of outfits on it and am going to head into to town on the weekend to buy them :-) http://www.freefusion.com.au/wardrobe.htm

  2. I may be the only one, but does anyone else have that rare occurrence where being misgendered isn’t really a big deal? I got rid of a TV earlier and the guy called me “sir”. I haven’t shaved today, and knew I wasn’t going to see him again, so I didn’t see a reason to get into it. I wasn’t particularly dressed one way or the other. He was here for all of 10 minutes so there wasn’t a reason to press the issue. Does anyone else ever have that rare occurrence where you really don’t care? Or am I missing something important?

Here he uses a bad study to have a moral panic over, then at 8:20 in the video makes a false equivalence between age and gender (while again conflating gender and sex).

I was thinking about how we're all seen as really strange because our gender identities don't match our biological sexes. But when you think about it, we're not all that strange, because we still have gender identities. Gender is a two-party system in our culture, just like the American political system is a two-party system. Just as voting Republican or Democrat isn't all that radical an act, regardless of former party affiliations, being male or female, regardless of physical appearance, isn't all that strange. In other words, I'm not a weirdo, I'm just a girl who happens to have a male body. There are people who don't have a gender identity at all, or are a blen…

Hey, guys! I am doing a survey on the mental health of trans people before and after transitioning. All responses are anonymous, so if you could please help me out, that'd be great. I promise it doesn't take more than 5 minutes. Click here to take the survey If there are any issues, please tell me. Thanks!

  10. Being an ally vs. just telling others how to be an ally LGBT Weekly Most folk who aren't part of the T of the LGBT community aren't aware of the divides between some of those who identify as transsexual, but not as transgender, and those who identify as both transsexual and transgender. To me, the divide seems to be...

Life is filled with trials and tribulations. Some are pleasant, other not so pleasant. Whatever lessons we glean from this trials will serve us in the future. I listened to a sermon this yesterday touching on this subject. Trials are like studies in school; they are the basic training that we receive before going on our own in the world. Afterwards that training is put to the test. We all travel on our own roads in life. Sometimes we may have to go it alone. My road to self-discovery was one that no one else could travel for me. There may be detours along the way that serve us and help us to embrace new things in our lives. We may discover that there are some thing…

I recently filled my gallery with the nicest pictures I could come up with for now because I was hoping it could help me feel better about myself. I always wanted to do this from little on, but I was afraid someone would find the pictures and we all know what kinds of things could happen after that. With some help from my wife I picked the ones I felt respresented how I feel on the inside the most. I personally am really excited about them but most of you probobly have no trouble seeing the physical man underneath the clothing. A life feeling so different on the inside versus what people see on the outside is sickening. I have tried to open up to close peop…

  14. http://transequality.org/issues/national-transgender-discrimination-survey In 2011, NCTE and the National LGBTQ Task Force released the National Transgender Discrimination Survey. Interviews with over 6,400 transgender and gender non-conforming people make it the largest such study ever conducted. The study has been a game changer—both for our policy work and for cultural change. For the first time, we were able to quantify the discrimination and violence transgender people face. NCTE is now working on a second iteration of the survey to be released in 2016 that will measure how things are now and how they have changed over the past five years. The findings from NTDS are…

  18. Hello one and all, To many here I am old hat, simply bern away and missed, I am sure newer members have read a few of my posts, I have been away yet watching from my distant place. I would like for you all to take a look around and with open eyes see what surrounds us these days, are you seeing the troubling things I see or do you grasp onto and incorporate into your lives the troubling things that those of us strove to achieve yet see fading back into the past, I come from a generation who realised that pounding on desks and ordering others into submision was not going to work. We settled back for the long haul understanding those old nazi like tactics were working agai…

Ok, so its not really relative to anything with gender or our usual topics of convo, but I just wanted to alert everyone that the new Fall Out Boy CD is out and anyone who appreciates a good voice, let me warn you, Patrick Stump (their vocalist) is a voice thats as close to God as anyone will hear. Everyone should give it a listen!
