So I took a risk. My Mom's birthday was yesterday. We do have a good phone relationship, but my Mom is one that has never given me a pat on the back. So, I took a risk. Where I am getting into photography, I sent her a card and sent her a sampling of my photos. What I expected to hear was, "Why did you send me this? What am I supposed to do with this? I'm sending them back." Instead I heard, " Thank you for sending me these beautiful pictures. I can't wait to show all the girls. These are amazing." Wow. That is a first.

I came across this posting on Medium (which I love) this morning: https://medium.com/productivity-in-the-cloud/6-links-that-will-show-you-what-google-knows-about-you-f39b8af9decc I think it's valuable to know that Google (and of course, FB, Yahoo, and all the rest) are tracking our every move. I don't worry much about it but here again, good to be aware. Emma

Gay Star News interviews Gian Paolo Vanoli, an Italian scientist and journalist who made the headlines in Italy for his theory 26 March 2013 | By Daniele Guido Gessa " He told GSN: ‘Being gay is a disease, but we have to love everyone, gays included, because it’s not their fault. The vaccines they had made them homosexuals.’" --gaystarnews.com Meet the scientist who claims 'vaccines made you gay' ________________________________ According to wikipedia, the first vaccine ever developed was the smallpox vaccine in 1796. I wonder how this scientist explains homosexuality before that point? -Mike

There aren't very many articles or videos that get to me. Maybe I'm just getting old and soft. Or maybe because it was too easy to replace "gay" with "trans" in some of the quoted statements in this article... Lucas Grindley, September 22 2012 11:58 AM ET ""I didn't want to call myself gay because gay meant you' re broken," one officer remembers. Another was afraid being gay might stop him from becoming an officer. "One woman cries as she remembers being told that being gay "is very biblically wrong and I don't want to see you go to hell." "Another came out on her birthday and was told by her family that they didn't want to hear from her again until she was st…

Does anyone remember the cartoon, Beanie and Cecil? Cecil the seasick sea serpent. Yea I know I am old but come on. Even people that are older than me don't remember. They also don't remember Nestles Triple decker bar. Best candy bar ever made. Did I grow up in the twilight zone?

I had to share this... For all of us who've had a *canine family member, this will be no surprise - entertaining - but no surprise. This vid makes me laugh everytime I see it. For all of you who've never had a canine family member, this video should cause you to question the experts who claim dogs respond only to emotion, the sound of your voice and body language, and not actual words or sentences, or understand certain situations. Enjoy! -Mike http://www.youtube.c...h?v=_kLdO3EsECs *Canine family member = a dog who lives in the house with the family, not the poor dog that's relegated to a doghouse in the back yard and only sees any of the family when they brin…

I've been trying to keep up with what's going on, as I'm sure many of you are as well. It's unimaginable to me that a man, who was welcomed at the door, would walk in and kill 49 innocent people who were simply praying. He was an admitted white supremacist, which is sickening. He chose Christchurch for some reason, that I still don't get. I've tried finding his manifesto, so that maybe I could figure out why, but I'm guessing it's been removed from the net. But what kind of sick monster would do this? Did the church attack him and he was taking revenge? No. He was and is a twisted loser. There's even a YouTuber telling people to shut up when they say "prayers and thoughts…

I found this on YouTube tonight, and both Adrianne and I thought it was hilarious. And I thought that it could help lighten spirits while we're still stuck under the virus.

I just wanted to share a general observation if I may. Is there any better feeling than freshly shaved legs? I absolutely love the way mine feel. Thankfully, I was blessed with very little body hair. I only need to shave mine maybe once a month. My knees have to be shaven more often. I don't necessarily love shaving them but love the way they feel afterwards. Just my observation. Have a great day! Kayla

I'm looking to compile as many stories of encounters with La Llorona as I can. Actual encounters with her. Not movies or TV shows. So, I'm asking has anyone here seen or heard her? Do you know someone who has? If so get in touch with me.

I would have made this a blog post, but I honestly don't know what to say. My baby, Lady, has cancer. The vet said she won't make it through the year. Lady is the love of my life. I would die for her, and I will die with her. I don't know who and what I'll become after losing her, but I will definitely be different. I love her so much I can't even begin to describe it. Possibly more than even Adrianne.

Are there any Aussie's or Kiwi's here? I'm wanting to find out what I can about the possibility of heading your way instead of Canada, as a bit of a monkey wrench has been thrown into that plan. An Australian woman I met online has a transgender daughter, and has specifically told me that she has a spare room, and that the Australian government would definitely grant asylum. I've been seriously considering it. But I want to get some firsthand input. I do know that Australia is one of the most dangerous places in the world. Not from the people, but the fauna of the country/continent. The myriad of spiders, kangaroos, taipans, and so much more. So that is a concern for me. …

www.huffingtonpost.com, 2/08/2012 As she endures an anti-gay group's fury over her new JC Penney spokeswoman role, Ellen DeGeneres has found an unlikely advocate -- Bill O'Reilly. The Fox News commentator came to DeGeneres' defense after conservative group One Million Moms, a division of the American Family Association, pressed JC Penney to replace the comedian and talk show host as their spokesperson because she is a lesbian. Jul 29, 7:36 AM EDT STOCKHOLM (AP) -- She was off duty and wearing a bikini but that didn't stop Swedish police officer Mikaela Kellner from catching a suspected thief. A photo of Kellner pinning the suspect to the ground was trending on social media in Sweden this week. "My first intervention while wearing a bikini during my 11 years as a police officer," she wrote on Instagram. For the past two years , I have struggled as to my leaving Chester Virginia , near Richmond for a possible return to Dallas . With Dan Patrick doing his level best to make Trans women illegal and ole Pat McCory in N Carolina trying to out do anything Bill Brownback in Kansas and Mike Pence in Indiana , I began to make a slow but diligent look to my former home of Cave Junction Oregon . Ms Diane Kelly whom who may know here as Greenshade has been my editor now for the past year and a half . She has launched the book , The Sky Turned Green and the Grass turned Blue . What I learned in reading this phenomenal story made me look at what Portland Oregon had to offer . There , …

This is far from humorous, but this announcement brings back so many memories. Here's a link to the story: Keith Emerson, ’70s Rock Showman With a Taste for Spectacle, Dies at 71 My friends and I were big fans of ELP back in the day. We saw them at the San Francisco Civic Auditorium in '72 or '73 - it was fantastic! Our seats (not that anyone sat much) were about four or five rows back from center stage. I missed catching a white Hammond B3 key by about an arms length that Keith threw into the audience after stabbing rather large knives into his keyboard. Very fun. Very LOUD! Boom! As he rocked that organ back and forth on a corner, only to let it crash onto the stage.…
