Is there a possibility that anyone else is going to the KC (technically St Joe) Crypticon this coming weekend? My wife and I will be there on Saturday. It's a 3 day event going from Friday thru Sunday. We try to go every year, but this one will be especially fun. Tobin Bell (aka Jigsaw) will be there Saturday. There's all sorts of actors from mostly the horror genre there. Another that I want to see for the second time will be Daniel Logan. He played the young Boba Fett in Star Wars episode 2. I met him last year at Knoxville Comicon. He's a really awesome guy. So if you're going, maybe we could grab a hotdog together? Anyway here's the link: Kansas City Cryptic…

The commentary is by a gay contributor, about gay people...but throughout the commentary, the word "gay" can easily be replaced by "trans." -Mike Barb Hamp Weicksel - SDGLN Contributor, February 5th, 2013 "There was a whole lot of discussion in our home this week about whether or not we have the right – or as some would say – the responsibility -- to “out” someone. Is this something we in the gay community are required to do? And are we especially required to do it when the person in question is a closeted gay and works against the gay community?" --Weicksel, sdgln.com COMMENTARY: Given the chance, would you or could you “out” someone?

I have a psycho that is stalking me. I responded to an ad on CraigsList that seemed innocent (god I feel like an idiot now). The ad said the person was looking for a hunting mentor. Someone to teach a person the ins and outs, dos and don'ts, and all that of hunting. The poster said they grew up on the islands, moved stateside a few years ago, and recently developed an interest. But (I'm going to use the masculine here) he had never used a gun. And I started hunting when I was 5. So I know big game and small game. So I thought "What the hell?" and responded. I said in my initial email that the first thing I needed to know was whether he ws interested in small game or big ga…

I changed my number about a month and a half ago. After I changed it I started getting calls from literally all over the world. Colombia, Peru, Canada, Tuvalu, and virtually every state in the US. Also someone stole my number to use on their Facebook account. I finally got tired of it, and went back and changed it again, hoping the problem would stop. I even got a new sim card installed. It didn't help. I'm still getting these calls. With the first change I was thinking that, due to where a lot of the calls were coming from, it was an old number that was previously associated with someone involved in drug running. I've been there and never want to go back. This newest num…

Fable of the Porcupine It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions. After awhile, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone…

Not sure if any of you have ever done a search of the number one song when you graduated high school? I just did...and the number one song back then was John Denver, "Thank God I'm a country boy." How prophetic!

We had to put Bean Dip down last night. He was completely unable to use his hind legs from what we were told. So we cut our St Louis vacation short and came home early. I haven’t spoken or been able to form a single thought in my head. But this one is worse than when we lost Gypsy. With Bean, it was a conscious decision made to intentionally kill him. I don’t know when or even if at this point I will be back. Losing Gypsy was extremely devastating. The role that we played in losing Bean Dip, was more than my mind has been able to handle.

The Blues took the cup. I’ve always hated them, but to see them win, royally sucks. I don’t have any feelings towards Boston one way or another. I’m a Detroit Red Wings fan. But the Blues are the one team I can’t stand. Every sports fan has theirs. The team they worship and the team they want to drop a nuke on. And the latter won the Stanley Cup. 🤬🤬🤬

Yer bigotry, ignorance, intolerance and hatred must really run deep if you've just now noticed the colours of the NBC peacock, thinking they've just recently appeared in support of the TGLB community! The stupidity is almost hilarious... -Mike 28 June 2015 | Jack Flanagan "A Facebook user Don Stair was evidently tired with brands lining up to support the LGBTI community: so he posted on KARK 4 News - NBC’s Arkansas news station - telling them they should be ashamed." --gaystarnews.com One viewer thought NBC had changed its logo to support 'the gays'

No topic should ever be closed. That's my opinion. Even our dissenters have a voice and should be given a voice. Horrible as the things that are said may be we need to give a voice so we can debate a topic that needs debate. How else will we show the reality unless we allow to be exhibited the lack of reality. Hatred of us is a reality. Through education we change that view of hatred, but we must let that hatred exhibit itself and then others who view it will see it as ludicrous or valid.

www.huffingtonpost.com, 2/08/2012 As she endures an anti-gay group's fury over her new JC Penney spokeswoman role, Ellen DeGeneres has found an unlikely advocate -- Bill O'Reilly. The Fox News commentator came to DeGeneres' defense after conservative group One Million Moms, a division of the American Family Association, pressed JC Penney to replace the comedian and talk show host as their spokesperson because she is a lesbian. Well, it’s come to a point that we can’t come back from. I have no choice but to give up my macaw. His screaming has severely affected my psyche. Last night Adrianne had to drive my wheelchair for me to the bedroom because I was paralyzed in it. Then she had to walk me into the bathroom to take a shower. But that’s not the worst of it. My nerves and mind were hit so hard that I actually had a seizure in the shower. Luckily I have a shower chair, and it’s a relatively small shower stall. So I didn’t get hurt. But she decided that if he’s causing me to have seizures, then it’s time for him to go. So we’re going to have to say goodbye to him. I don’t want to let him go, beca…

Chris Cillizza | 07 February 2017 "And the unflattering sendup by a female comedian was not considered helpful for Spicer’s longevity in the grueling, high-profile job, where he has struggled to strike the right balance between representing an administration that considers the media the “opposition party,” and developing a functional relationship with the press." --washingtonpost.com Sean Spicer is on thin ice because Melissa McCarthy played him on ‘Saturday Night Live’ ___________________________________________________________ Another reason to worry whether or not Trump will re-visit some way to repeal TGLB protections? This time of year, the holidays for those who are isolated or alone can be very difficult. For those, like us, a part of the LGBTQ+ community and often shunned by family and friend alike, Thanksgiving and Christmas can be even tougher. And now, the world being in he grips of a pandemic, so many have been isolated just for being human and therefore vulnerable to a disease that doesn't give a whit whether you are alone, gay, black, elderly or Superman. For all our members in the U.S., I hope everyone is able to find some small way to enjoy this Thanksgiving. I hope that you can reach out to friends and family - virtually, of course, or by phone or email. Send som…

Adrianne and I were out running errands when we saw a huge commotion. We stopped to see what was going on, and there was someone hanging off the ledge of the top of a parking garage. I watched him let go and hit the ground. The sound of the impact was nothing I would have expected. It sounded like someone slamming a car door extremely hard. Luckily, Adrianne didn’t see the actual event as I made her stay in the car. She’s kinda freaking out right now. I gave her some anxiety meds, so hopefully that will help her. It’s not something I ever expected to see. It will affect her pretty hard, but it’s not really something that phases me.
