Over the last couple of weeks I have been finding myself slipping into some of the most full on mood swings I have ever experienced and am assuming that it is being caused by my hormones. I have been taking Androcur and progynova and am due to go and see my doctor tomorrow for the first time in months but am wondering what a lot of you do to cope with the mood swings and the depression. Could these be caused by a hormone imbalance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks heaps Caio For Now Kamanika B)

Hey all. I'm new here. Forgive me if I am asking something already covered a million times. I scrolled several pages in and really didn't see anything like what I want to ask. Anyway... Just starting my Trans Journey at age 53. I live in Casper, Wyoming which is literally THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE! Hard to find one site that spells everything out in detail what I need to do to keep moving forward on this Journey. At the current time I am starting to research doctors and therapists because I know down the road they will need to sign referrals for any surgeries. So my first question is, how do I find a good therapist, or psychiatrist that I know is going to be …

Hope this post doesn't get deleted. ::snickers:: Anyway, just dropping by to say hi to all my former board warrior friends and to let you know that I had my SRS and MA this last summer(some of you knew I was going) in Thailand. I'm fine and doing great! Yea...it has been quite a ride emotionally and physically up to this point and every once in a awhile my hormones will go all weird on me...LOL...but hey its just how it is. Anyway, I'll stop in from time to time if you don't mind and make a comment or two. You all have a great day! :)

Goodday Everybody, I am new to this forum. I have lived half my life keeping my gender-variety a secret to everyone, fearing rejection and discrimination. I pass well (pleased with size of hands, head, hair, body and feet). Generally I am doing fine and face very few problems. Only very few close friends know about my being a transwoman and they also know that I live in stealth. If there is one thing that might give me away is my voice. I have had years of vocal training, and although I do not sound like the average man, my voice is deeper than the average female voice, especially when I am tired or after giving long lectures. Because of my work and active social life,…

My wife just made a realization that even though she loves me through all of this, what is society going to label her? She stated that people will assume she is a lesbian just by hanging out with me. I never thought much about that because I have been so focused on letting go of the pain I have held in all of these years. This attitude people have to make such assumptions is simply wrong. I know in my heart the real answer but what can I say to my wife to help her understand. She thinks I am self-centered and foolish for giving into feelings that in her opinion are going to destroy us. I know my wife is not a lesbian but her fear of being considered one tells…

I'm 18 and financially dependent on my mom Who along with the rest of my family is deeply religious and I'm struggling with how to deal with this or even whether i have the nerve to go through with the trans gender thing because no offense but it goes against everything i was raised with. I think that if i told my mom she would still love me but i fear our relationship would suffer .Also, my Closest cousin is somewhat homophobic so imagine how she would feel about me. i just feel like if i did this i might lose everything and everybody i knew.I also feel guilty for feeling like this and i was wondering if therapy would ever make you feel differently about things. I gues…

I have compiled a lists of things people have said and asked me during my transition. Its funny lot of these things have come from My sisters, girlfriends, guy friends, guys I have dated, exwife! Most have come from women though, makes me wonder if its not good to be a girl then why aren't they men? Here they are: Why do you want to be a girl??? Why do you want to cut off your penis? Why do you want breasts? Why do you want a vagina? Vaginas are too much maintenance! Gynecologist visits are not fun at all! You know having a period isn't fun! Hey can you just keep the breasts and not get rid of your penis, I would enjoy you better! Can you have…

"Back in the early 1990s, Chris Gary Bruce competed in male bodybuilding contests. He was good, but only up to a point... Bruce, a 42-year-old personal trainer living in San Diego, will get another chance to go for the gold on Oct. 29 at the Border States Classic Bodybuilding competition -- but this time, it will be as Chris Tina Bruce, and she will be competing as a woman." Last night I met with my family as Shannon for the first time and it went really well. Today, about halfway through the workday, the landlord came and changed the locks on the business where I work. Apparently they had been lax with the rent. I'm still not sure if I'm unemployed just yet, but it would appear that way for the moment. I have surprisingly mixed feelings about this. On the one hand I'm short income... On the other I may never have to be Joe ever again and that feels incredible. I'm not sure which outcome is the better one... On a side note, if anyone has work for a possibly laid off Graphic Designer, I might suddenly be very available.

I read an article at a website about male to female transsexuals where the author said feminization of the body, when using female hormones, especially breasts, will be noticed by others, even if the person does not want her feminization noticed. An article at another website said feminization of the body will be hidden from others, if the person makes proper efforts. This either/or outcome seems dubious to me. I think one's age at the onset of beginning estrogen and progesterone, genetics, clothing often makes it easier or harder for sufficient feminization, especially breast development, to occur to be noticed by others of male to female transsexuals, who are not t…

So today I did something brave. I went online and well was researching some things. So I measured my feet and got a real good accurate measurement. I found a really cute pair of high heel boots that were in my size. This is my first pair of heels. I had a base to go off of since I have tried some on before so I kinda new what size I would need. But I measured like 3 times to make sure they will fit. I can't wait for them to show up. It is the real first time I said screw it and just said whatever I really don't care what people think anymore. I have already lost just about everyone in my life that was important to me. Just by being not all my self. They don't even know wh…

Im 17 years old. Im going into my Senior Year of High School. I have been small all my life. I often felt inferior to my fellow Students. i attend a private high school just for males. I was a late bloomer and still to this day people think i am in grammer school. I can relate to females more then my fellow man. Sometimes i think to my self why i am not a female. i often find my self fantasizing on the possibility of being a women. I also find my self very sloppily applying make up and i sometimes cross dress. I Really like female clothing and i have a sense of color then most men do not have. Unless my parents did not tell me something im fully a male. Sear…

Hi, I don't know if this is the best place to ask, but generally, MtF's, after SRS, what is your new vagina like? Depth wise, sensitivity wise, and does it lubricate at all? It's just something I've been wondering about for a long time and I would like to hear what it's like for you so I can get a general idea of what to expect in the future.

OK. I'm just working out my problems on your forum. The biggest problem for me is giving up my male identity. He's there, he won't go away. I love him to bits cos he provides the butter on my bread. I don't know. How did you girls sort this out. Another thing, I have a significant other, She's a bit of a Tom I must admit. But if I come out it's going to totally change the the power relstionship. At the moment I'm in charge, but if I accept a female role she'll be in charge. It's not that I mind her being in charge, in fact I find that rather comforting. I'm just afraid she'll make bad decisons. I suppose I'll have to use my feminine wiles on her/him. Take care, HL.

I had a disturbing experience last night. I was following the US election on Twitter when I noticed that a T-girl I follow was getting abuse from a man that she had chided for his comment that he had 'voted for Romney because he is white'. This man started to send her a heap of vile transphobic abuse and got his troll friends to do the same. I decided that I would take some of the hate from her shoulders, as she was clearly upset, and told the man that he did not have the right to call anyone a 'tranny and hoe' ( I assume that means whore). Naturally I then became the target. 'oh are you a tranny to, I bet mines bigger than yours' along with a drawing of his penis. …

Hello everyone! My name is Julia it's wonderful to meet all of you. I'm a self proclaimed non-op. I just celebrated my three year anniversary of going full time as of the 11th of this month. I experimented with estrogen fairly heavily when I was around thirteen and on and off until early 2001 when I started doctor prescribed hormones and haven't been off of them since. I transitioned in Helena Montana which was "interesting" to say the very least. LOL! I'm a distance runner and love to run with my doggy every morning. I'm also an artist and work in watercolour, pastels, charcoal and coloured pencil. I have a varied taste in music ranging from industrial, ebm, darkwav…

So like all of you I'm sure I have slowly been taking small steps before I finally decided that I needed to transition. It started with plucking my eyebrows, then I started shaving my legs and my armpits and any other nasty body hair I have, then started wearing a little makeup occasionally, all the while telling myself I wasn't a transsexual I just liked be a little more feminine. Well then it gets to that point where you realize that guys don't do any of this, and that you feel so much more comfortable being girly and you just want to be a girl. Well I'm writing because after finally getting to that point, and starting on a lowdose testosterone blocker, I'm at an int…

I just had to tell everyone that I just received my second opinion regarding SRS. I'm so happy! For some reason I was really worried I would be refused, but after an hour long interview the doctor had no problem referring me for surgery. I still have to wait for everything to be processed by the Alberta government so I can get my finding, but that will only take a few weeks at most. Once that's done I can book an appointment in Montreal and then I only need to wait a few months! After a lifetime of waiting it's hard to believe it's so close.

I've read recently that mothers who took DES hormones during their 1st trimester (which was common for women in the 1950s who had trouble with pregnancy) may have affected their male babies in utero. The DES (which is essentially a synthetic estrogen) interfered with and reduced the testosterone surge in the middle of the 2nd trimester, which may have led to the male baby's "misalignment" between sex and desired/preferred gender. In other words, this might lead to the child's being MTF transgender. I don't know if my mother took DES and it's impossible for me to find out as she's deceased and medical records are not available. I looked around and was surprised to s…
