  1. I wasn't sure where this one belonged, but since some have tried to blame it on transgenders, I thought it should be posted.

  2. A couple weeks ago, I saw an article about Intel, and the fact that the company would no longer be donating to the Boy Scouts of America because of the organization's anti-gay policies. I considered posting about it...but changed my mind after finding other news stories that I thought might have been of more interest. Come to find out (if I had read the article rather than just glancing at the headline), Intel -BSA's largest corporate donor- apparently only backed off after activist Zack Wahls gathered more than 30,000 signatures on a Change.org petition. Wahls is now going after UPS considering they have a 100% rating on the HRC Corporate Equality Index. Read t…

What resolutions, if any, have you made for 2013? Personally...I've not really made any. Least ways, none I've definitely committed to. I have this knack of absently thinking about things in the back of my mind...things I want to do. But, it's like I leave it open for various possibilites. Sorta like a [horror] movie that, toward the end, it appears that everything is resolved and the creatures have all been killed. But while everyone walks off into the sunset, a creepy kinda music builds, and you wonder.... Interesting reading: History of New Year's Resolutions New Year's Resolution

So with all the budget cuts, the cuts that only affect people that really need the help, well after being at my Dad's today, I am ticked. My Dad used to have this great nurse that took care of all his meds. Due to budget cuts, all the competent people at the VA have been re-positioned, and all the idiots are taking over. In checking my Dad's pill boxes, this person that is supposed to know what they are doing had screwed them all up. Double doses of this...zero doses of that. And, for the past 2-3 days my dad had told me he wasn't feeling well. Could not eat. Etc. Now I know why. To think this is how the US treats their veterans. Party on at the White House!

  9. I got 4 female rats today. They're actually family. My little guy Oreo is blood. His mom and 3 of his sisters came to live with us today. The woman I got him from was no longer able to care for them due to schooling, so I bought them. They're so adorable. I'll post pictures when I can get good ones, but for now I'll just give the names. The mother of the litter is Possum. She looks just like a mini opossum. The other 3 are Bat Rat, Nibbler, and Storm Cloud (aka Stormy). They're obviously all female as I've already said. I'm considering letting Redeemer breed with the matriarch once or twice. I can't let Oreo breed for obvious reasons. Skunk and Money, wouldn't be a good i…

  10. This short article on Medium really touched my heart this morning: Why I Teach My Students to be Brave Being transgender is scary at times, pushing through internal and external boundaries, challenging beliefs and our safety (both emotional and physical). But it's exciting too, to feel oneself being oneself. Emma P.S. I'm now listening to Leonard Cohen singing his ballad "Hallelujah"! Turn it up! You say I took the name in vain I don't even know the name But if I did, well really, what's it to you? There's a blaze of light In every word It doesn't matter which you heard The holy or the broken Hallelujah

just to be clear, this isn't hate directed at the ghosties of the chat-room, it's just something funny I came up with (had help of course) “run run as fast as you can, hurry hurry or you'll get the ban. If you go down the path of the troll, out with your dam soul. Do not tick off a ghostie, for I hear he.ll is rather toasty. If you get Charles I have bad news, he's got a massive boot to use. If you get Karen I would watch yourself - for only after an apology, will her anger be put on the shelf. If you get McCookie I would run for the hills, for her anger will give you the chills. If you get Rachel brace for impact, for I hear her slap gives off a rather nasty CRACK…

  13. Does anyone know if there’s some kind of bug going around? I caught something last night and haven’t been this sick in forever. I’ll spare you the details, but needless to say, there’s a bug butt that needs some stomping.

I just enjoyed my favorite part of the day again. A nice hot shower before bed. There’s lots of things I enjoy, but nothing I look forward to more than my evening shower. I get to sit under the hot water and let the stress of the day melt away. I get to scrape away the sweat and physical signs of stress when I suds up my loofah. There’s just nothing better. I get to feel clean, smooth, soft, and relaxed when I climb between the sheets. I absolutely love a hot shower.

I hope you don't mind my posting something entirely unrelated to transgender topics. Just wanting to share some books and ideas with you. I love to read. At times it's a wonderful escape into the unknown or unknowable. I'm now thoroughly enjoying "The Hummingbird's Daughter" by Luis Alberto Urrea. It's about the author's real great-aunt Teresita, who lived in the late 1800s in Mexico. It's so much fun to be immersed into what life was like back then. Very brutal in many ways especially if you didn't happen to be part of the aristocracy. In case you like books such as this, here's a few others that I enjoyed: "Dune" by Frank Herbert I read this science fiction…

I want to get a lot of opinions on this. How does everyone feel about slurs, if it's from two people who are the same? For example if you have read The Outsiders there's a part where Ponyboy mentions that one greaser calling another one a Greaser is being playful. So how does everyone feel about more controversial slurs? If two gay men call each other the F word, is that ok? If two transgender people call each other tranny, is that ok? Also I'm curious about racial slurs. I can count the number of people in my life that matter on one hand, and I get a laugh if they call me a cracker. Anyone else and you're got a violent fight on your hands. Honky on the other hand, I don'…

I don’t know who all has heard about this, but a couple days ago a tourist sub taking 5 tourists down to the Titanic in the Atlantic Ocean imploded killing all of them. One was a 19 year old kid, and another was the CEO of the company that organizes these deep sea tours. If I remember right anyway. They were reportedly only about 1600 feet from the bow when it happened. They had lost all contact with the surface prior to the implosion. But as they descended there was some kind of unnoticed fault in their submersible and in a nanosecond they were all dead. The pressure at those depths would compress a full grown human into an object the size of a marble. They were all dead…
