  1. Started by Blackangel,

Anyone else here a writer? I love to write. As it sits I've finished 2 full length novels, a few short stories, and a lot of unconventional poetry. I have my books and shorts uploaded on my website. Well one is taken down at the moment because I'm rewriting a big part of it. I've never liked that part of the story since the day I wrote it. Why I kept it, I don't have a clue. The two books are wildly different. The one that's taken down is called Crimson Tears. If you're familiar with S.E. Hinton's works you'll know the style of the story. The other book is called Satans Infernal Nation. It's about a Devil worshiping cult. The protagonist of the story is recruited into the…

  3. I'm not sure what has brought this article to the forefront considering it is from March 2012 - perhaps it is because there has been a recent comment posted. I thought maybe there had been an update, but I saw none. However, I don't recall ever seeing this article before, and thought that it might be of interest to others who may not have seen it. -Mike Posted: 03/19/2012 3:16 pm Updated: 03/19/2012 3:21 pm Greeting card verse: Jack and Jill, Went up the hill, So Jack could see Jill's fanny. This appears like a good test http://www.kgw.com/s...tness/24076407/ If you first just read the article it sounds like "what the heck", does this really give an idea on if you will live five years more. Watch the video and note that many had issues completing it. I was not going to try it as I do similar actions when teaching but did it anyways, perfect 10.

The Blues took the cup. I’ve always hated them, but to see them win, royally sucks. I don’t have any feelings towards Boston one way or another. I’m a Detroit Red Wings fan. But the Blues are the one team I can’t stand. Every sports fan has theirs. The team they worship and the team they want to drop a nuke on. And the latter won the Stanley Cup. 🤬🤬🤬

  7. For some years it's been clear to me that the fundamental problem we face is over-population. No matter how much we are successful at conservation of resources, recycling, emissions control, as long as the population continues to grow any such conservation measures will be overtaken. It's a very difficult multi-faceted and geopolitical problem and no one really knows what to do to solve it. But like so many things we need to awareness and focus. This book has text and photos that cannot be ignored: https://populationspeakout.org/the-book/view-book/ Emma

A six-year-old boy has found a creative way to explain why trans people exist and why they are normal 21 August 2013 | By Tim Heap "After hesitating, she explained it as simply as possible but ‘also said that it's a very complicated topic that sometimes even grownups struggle with’. So, my brother in law was at my Mom's to clear the snow off the roofs. My 84 year old Mom tells him she will do the garage roof because she wants the exercise. So, in cleaning of the garage she sinks in the snow up to her waist. She finally was able to crawl out on her hands and knees. And she calls, laughing. I am so amazed at my Mom. At her age, the physical, mental and spiritual strength she has, amazes me. Yea, I have an amazing Mom.

Was over to my dad's today. Drove him to appointments. Today was the first day I have seen my 86 year old Dad as an old man. He could hardly walk and a couple times I had to catch him from taking a nose dive. His memory is also fading . The most heartbreaking part, is my Dad sees it. He had always said he would never go to a nursing home. Today he told me, when the time comes, there is only one home he would go to, and made me write it down. He also, today, gave me legal power of attorney. It is heart wrenching. My dad has always been the epitome of health and strength. Today was the first day I noticed the change. Also noticed that when I left, he almost had t…

  11. Cops often get a bad rap - especially from a lot of baby boomers like myself, and even more by those who were of prime age during the "hippy" era. It's not that baby boomers are criminals...it just wasn't cool to like the cops. And of course, we here at TGG, often condemn some police for their mistreatment of GLBT people. But every once in a great while, ya gotta give credit where credit is due. Being that we are (at least in the U.S.) officially into the holiday season...when I ran across this story, I thought it was one worth sharing. -dml Dylan Stableford, 11.29.2012 "It was freezing out, and you could see the blisters on the man's feet," DePrimo, a three…

  12. Sometimes it's all too easy to be cynical. We see the "Top 1%" raking in obscene amounts of money, our politicians snubbing the laws for their own benefit, corporations raping the ecosystem and employees for the benefit of senior management and, let's face it, the Top 1%. So, when I see something very positive I am overjoyed and want to share it. "Net Neutrality" is something I understand at a gut level: it treats the Internet as a freeway system where all traffic has equal priority to reach end users without pay-for-special-service "lanes" that would enable (or hinder) selected traffic reaching its destinations faster or slower. It's absolutely critical and fundamen…

I viewed the 9/11 memorial service on tv this morning. I listened to all the names being read and kept thinking of all the folks lost that fateful day. After twelve years the feelings still resonates with many people. I can remember that day as if it just happened. I was supposed to be in the north tower at precisely the time the first plane hit but was delayed. While lives were affected negatively there were many positive aspects also. One is to settle any issues you may have with others. Be a positive influence on another person. Live life with passion and joy. This day we honor those who were lost on 9/11. Say thank you to the police/firemen/EMS personnel.Their …

  17. No topic should ever be closed. That's my opinion. Even our dissenters have a voice and should be given a voice. Horrible as the things that are said may be we need to give a voice so we can debate a topic that needs debate. How else will we show the reality unless we allow to be exhibited the lack of reality. Hatred of us is a reality. Through education we change that view of hatred, but we must let that hatred exhibit itself and then others who view it will see it as ludicrous or valid.

  18. I had a site that I was working on, but I couldn't figure out the page builder for the life of me. It always fried my brain and left me in a bad mood. So I decided to make my page nothing but a forum. I'll try again at some point to make a site, but it's going to be a while. Especially since there's no activity at the forum except for bots signing up.😢

So I took a risk. My Mom's birthday was yesterday. We do have a good phone relationship, but my Mom is one that has never given me a pat on the back. So, I took a risk. Where I am getting into photography, I sent her a card and sent her a sampling of my photos. What I expected to hear was, "Why did you send me this? What am I supposed to do with this? I'm sending them back." Instead I heard, " Thank you for sending me these beautiful pictures. I can't wait to show all the girls. These are amazing." Wow. That is a first.

  25. Started by Blackangel,

I watched the debate tonight. I was not happy with how it went. There were 3 candidates that only got the opportunity to speak 3-4 times in the entire 2 hours. Including my candidate. The questions were directed at 5 of the candidates and the rest were left to stand around like they were just there as decorations. How can it be a debate when less than half actually get to participate? Maybe the Iowa debate will go better.
