Regaining sense of community control Hello everybody! It's been a while since back logging on to tgguide community forums! I had two reasons for not logging on regular basis! Firstly I lost access to my tablet due to battery failure and I just bought it on new year's! Secondly I thought I was the only transgender person in mega city as I reside in! But after my 4 years of hardcore transitions on or off, I have found a exact replica of my cross dressers to transgender community meeting every Monday in my area of residence! I hope to promote my YouTube channel for all members of transgender community not only cross dressers! Few that's a big scope. Visit Shazy Jeo on Y…

Today, just 10 minutes ago, my mother called me to tell me that another person of our community has been attacked by being slashed in the face by a woman. A Transman was attacked with a razor to the face after being a gentleman and offering two women a seat. After he got up and offered a seat next to the other females friend, they waited to get off but before they did, they slashed the mans face. I'm going to say this. In NYC, where I live, I will be carrying a consealed weapon of my choice. It will not be a gun nor knife or blade. It will not be mace or pepper spray. Ive lived in NYC most of my life and have been in transition for 2 years now. I'm not passable as I been …

Article contains language that may not be suitable for all readers. A Twitter exchange between British comic Ricky Gervais and his ‘Idiot Abroad’ friend Karl Pilkington has sparked fury in the trans community, but is that the right response? 04 January 2013 | By Ashlee Kelly " Gervais, most famous in the UK for writing and starring in BBC series The Office and Extras, recently tweeted a quote from a conversation with his friend Karl Pilkington which has understandably upset some in the trans community." --gaystarnews Why I’m not offended by Gervais’ trans-gerbil tweet

Parker Marie Molloy | June 04 2014 3:32 PM ET "On Tuesday's episode of The Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert riffed on the recent ruling by the Department of Health and Human Services that paves the way for Medicare coverage of transition-related surgical care." --advocate.com The Colbert Report Takes on Trans Medicare Coverage(w/Video) ______________________________ Is Stephen Colbert using the trans community for cheap laughs, or mocking conservatives, and poking fun at the toll that life and nature take on both men and women?

There’s something I’ve been thinking about that only confuses me more and more as I think about it. We’re all under fire for being who we are. But when you see news about imposing bans and restrictions, there’s one common theme that sticks out to me. They seem to forget half of the community. Their hate is seemingly directed only at trans women and gay men. I honestly don’t remember anyone mentioning trans men or lesbians. They direct their hate at those of us who were born with a penis. Those born with a uterus are off their radar. Trying to figure out why is like trying to understand the Crimean War. I might as well pull a Stewie Griffin, and build myself…

Cyd Zeigler | June 06 2014 7:00 AM ET "It’s bad enough to see it splashed across my Facebook page and tossed casually around the pool on a warm Sunday afternoon, but the most disturbing part is that it’s gay men splashing it. As trans people have asked us with louder and louder voices to stop using this word, gay men everywhere are embracing it." --advocate.com Op-ed: What We’ve Failed to Remember With the T Word

This is wonderful. The facilitator is just one year older than I, and three years into her transition. So she seems to be the perfect mentor. The group requires an interview, which was no problem... so next Wed. night, I'll meet the group. This first meeting will be at a local cinema where there is comunity/public welcome gathering and a movie for National Transgender Day of Remembrance. I could not have possibly imagined a more appropriate day to introduce myself for the first time in a public forum as a transsexual woman. My official entry into the group will be the following week. They will be able to guide me to all of the local therapist, doctors and …

This past Sunday my wife and I went to visit a friend who was in the hospital. As we walked to the security desk I saw that we needed to show our IDs. I don't have a picture of me as Gennee. I wondered how this would turn out? I presented my ID with my male picture. The guard looked at me for a moment, sowewhat startled. He gave us passes and let's us proceed. We had to sign again when we reached my friend's ward. The lady who signed me in didn't take a moment's notice. She just let me pass. Quite a day. Gennee is making her presence felt. My friend is doing much better.

JamieAnn Meyers, 10/23/2012 2:27 pm My wife and I met one another as seventh graders in 1957 and began "going steady" the summer before our senior year. In 1966 we were married in a traditional ceremony that my dad conducted as pastor of our church. In our vows we promised "to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part." -huffingtonpost.com Marriage: It's About Love and Commitment (A Transgender Perspective)

Jus as the title sez, it's Prom season for R O S M Y , ( Richmond Organization of Sexual Minority Youth ) in Richmond Virginia . This has become , "My Prom" . See, in 1968 when In was about to graduate High school, I couldn't even have come close to attending my own prom . I knew I was Transgender then and earlier . In 2009, I was allowed to go to that Prom as a Chaperone . It was sooooooooooooo gratifying to be there in a Thrift store evening dress and getting my picture taken by a "REAL " photographer . This year , as in years past , I again get to be with "My kids " . Yes, those full of energy youths who identify a little differently than mainstream society . They are…

“When it comes to identities, we in The Community seem to have enough to spare. Part of the problem is the assumptions that everyone makes. I would like to take some time to discuss something directly that I have mentioned in a variety of different stories- that is the difference between being transgender, transsexual and intersexual.” - Bridgette P. I attend an accepting church. My wife and I have become members as of yesterday. There were at least 3 gay couples and 5 or 6 lesbian couples. As far as I know I'm the only transgender person there. My wife and I feel comfortable and have made some friends. I may speak with the pastor about my being transgender. I can honestly say that I feel comfortable about doing this. I'm also sensitive to my wife's feelings. She accepting of my dressing up to a point. Recently, for the first time, she walked beside me on the street while I was dressed. As you can small advances have made. I would make my day when I attend service dressed up.

I have been very tired and busy for a while now. Came out to some friends and family that just went well almost totally ignored by everyone. I am having some medical problems. Stress at work piling up. I may be starting Spyro soon hopefully. Life is just getting out of hand. I have been working with a therapist for a while now and that helps a lot. I have a lot of dysphoria all the time and anxiety issues. Hopefully things start working out soon.

Ellsworth Rundlett III, Posted: 12/20/2012 1:01 am Eight years ago, my daughter Nicole introduced a new twist to our motley tribe. She was Nick at the time, the best son a man could ask for, but -- unbeknownst to the rest of the family -- she had always identified as a woman. When Nicole decided to become her authentic self, I was startled and unsure -- but time, education and counseling have made our parent/child relationship stronger than ever. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for our extended family. --huffingtonpost.com The Cold Shoulder at Christmas: Family Holidays With a Transgender Daughter
