Greetings, I'm very new to this so forgive me. I'm a transgender, born a male and thinking of transitioning to female. I'm married with children and 37 years old. I don't know what else to say other than any advise, suggestion or help would be great. I don't have a social outlet so I guess this is it, so thanks for reading and responding.

Hello everyone! I am a big supporter of the community. For the last few years I've been working with my own son. He is going to be five and I know that is very young, so we are not making any decisions. I am just supporting who he is by letting him express himself anyway he chooses. We have had to stand behind him and inform people that toys don't have gender and that he is allowed to play with and wear what he wants. He is young so I do not know what the future holds. I am a man who should have been born a girl. As a child I did not like boy play; I preferred girl’s styles; and I was an avid reader including reading all of the Little House on the Prairie books written from Laura’s point of view. I could not play boys sports and struggled to fit in with groups of boys. For example at summer camp, I spent all of my time doing crafts. My story is basically I have been living a double life online and in video games for years but I have been pretending to be a girl since I was about five years old. I ended up getting married to a wonderful woman and have two children. Sadly I can no longer live a fake life and I have to be who I am inside. My wife cannot be married to a woman and I don't blame her. I cannot force her to feel that way just to be married to me. I am 57 and just this week is the first time I ever told anyone about feeling transgender. I have know it since I was a child but in my family we never addressed any kind of issues or problems. Just don't talk about it and it did not exist. I have never understood how I feel but I knew it felt right and brought me comfort to imagine I was female.
