There is a plethora of information, tips and advice available for women regarding intimate hygiene and grooming in books, magazines and on the Internet. Try looking for similar information specific to pre-op T-girls and you come up cold. Personally, I would have lapped up stuff like that when I started to seriously consider transition, and I’m sure todays and tomorrow’s new girls would as well. I know from what I’ve gone through and from conversations with T-girlfriends that intimate hygiene and grooming is too often a self-taught hit or miss thing for us pre-op girls as we go through our transitions. Most, if not all, of the existing advice for genetic girls makes…

Hello all these are just some observations I've made along my journey. I would love to know if any body has had similar or contradictory experiences. I still haven't changed my name or gender so all my paperwork appears as my old male self. When I present my I.D. I get a long pause as the person's brain re-aligns. I'm not good at reading faces, so I don't really know what kind of reaction they are having. Most of the time I've been treated kind. One time when I was getting some tests done at the VA a medical tech came out to the waiting room and announced "I need Richard LASTNAME". Sheepishly I approached her. "Richard LASTNAME" she says again in a louder voice. I'…

Hello everyone, It has been a while since I have posted. So I have some good and bad news. But overall things are going well. Better than expected. First and foremost, please allow me to extend my thanks to each and every one of you who post on this site. While I may not have posted much, I have checked in, researched some topics and read a lot of great info and advice. So thanks to all of you. REALLY ! THANKS! The second thing I did after joining this site was to become an active member of the the local support group, and they are great. If you are ever in Tulsa, look up the Gender Outreach Group hosted at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center http://www.okeq.org/…

Hi all, I was on Estradiol for two years before, for reasons beyond my control, I was been cut off in mid December. I may be able to get a resupply in April. My question is: what effects of this lull are going to have on my body? Thank you for any replies in advance.

Hey everyone, I am a MTF transsexual but I cannot handle it, it is destroying my life. I am currently pre- everything, I have told my doctor and I am waiting for a referral to a gender therapist. This is just so so hard to live. I can't deal with the pain for much longer. I want to move away so I can be my true trans self but I am living in a small remote rural town and I just need to get away so I can be myself. I can't handle being a transsexual, I only found out I was a transsexual last year. Prior to that I had always thought I was male. This is so horrendous to deal with :'( Can anybody help me?

Okay, Here goes Boys and Girls, I hear a lot of chatter but no clear and present support to what is happening or will happen on hormones. Well, it's really sort of a roll of the dice when it comes to HRT , Why ? Answer this as simply as I can, Because You are not Me, nor are You the Gal that posts on some other site telling all about what and what not to be taking for optimal results. Your going to hear a lot of different things, like " Oh, all you need to do is block the production of Testosterone so just take an Anti-Androgen ", and " You should only be Taking a natural 17B Oestrogen ", Or the " you don't need to test every thing just these select tes…

So I'm still researching this and I was wondering if, before starting hrt, do I want to loose the excess fat I have and then build that back in the right places once on hormones? Or keep the fat I have and let the hormones do their thing.

You know, I really envy these girls who can define themselves as totally female and have no doubts. For me, I'm on a hopeless roundabout, male to female, then back again. OK, I may have cross-dressed as a teen and had an unusual interest in womens' magasines, and maybe my breasts did swell, and maybe I did have a few fantasies that were, let us say, unusual, But 40 years of male life has left it's mark. It's difficult to ignore these experiences. So, after a long hiatus.I started dressing again, and I joined a few contact sites, and I even posted a few photos. But it just ain't working. I've considered going out and out Gay, but this is not where I'm coming from. I've co…

Hello everyone! I hope I am in the correct forum for this message. I am very very possibly moving to the Baltimore area from Tampa FLorida for a new job. I am in need of local information. I was able to find some studio appartments for $450 per month but have no idea if its in a good safe area. If anyone has experience in the BWI area that can point my family to a SAFE both for crime and for TS friendly areas for reasonable cost that would be great! A commute on a bus or train to BWI for work would be nice if available but by car is not out of the question. Once a home is found then I will be in need of a new therapist, support network and of course safe entertainm…

I know results may vary but if perhaps a meta analysis were to be carried out on dosage level vs effect what might the data suggest? Well to the question. I am close the the hrt administration stage and will be pushing for the option of anti androgens and low dose oestrogen. Why? Well ideally I want to ease the mental torment and hopefully taste the "feeling of well being" so often expressed. I also want my face given a feminine boost via complexion and modest fat redistribution. I do not want to expedite any other physical change but appreciate that i could still end up with no facial change at all but a couple of "Dolly Parton" specials! In other words, you don't get…

Hi fellow Earthlings. To the point. The end (at last) is in sight for me being prescribed hrt. I am sure I will not be alone here by what I now describe. There is a constant battle within me, antagonistic forces which causes me distress. On one side is my aspirational commitment to transition while on the other is the associated guilt of inflicting such change on those I love, especially my wife of 30 years. The question therefore is addressed to those who have shared the conflict. Does hrt calm the turmoil? I realise that it can bring about the ethereal sense of well being so often articulated with difficulty but does it do anything about the torment of guilt? Tha…

Hi team. I'm hoping for some feedback soon from those of you further down the road so I am armed when talking to the gatekeeper. Brief history. After two discussions with gatekeeper one he wants confirmation from gatekeeper two that I'm good to go. OK here is what I want. Firstly, I know you don't get to chose what hormones do but if I could chose: if Carlesberg made hormones (perhaps lost on my non European sisters) this is what I would want. 1/ The end of the mental torment/noise....you all know what I mean. 2/ A more feminine, passable face. 3/ Transition by stealth. What I hope the gatekeepers will sanction therefore is very low level oestogen (patc…

I want to use this forum to say thank you to all at the TG Guide for helping me to turn my life around. It was only a few short months ago that I stumbled upon this website, confused and a little afraid. I have known I am transgender since the age of five and had even chosen my name at that time, but I didn't have the language to express my feelings. I had felt ashamed of myself since being told I was depraved by my mother at the age of thirteen when she caught me trying on a pair of tights. This feeling of shame has haunted me all my life and caused the breakdown of my marriage as I was unable to talk about my feelings. since splitting with my wife I had been drinki…

Hi, I have some questions about HRT. I was wondering what effects are typical during the first month. I've been on Spirotonin and Estrofem for about a week now. I have read online that you can feel mental changes within the first few days. It's been a week and honestly I feel 0 effects. [Could] my dosage [be] too low. Just curious what's normal the first month. Transtioning takes years so I'm being patient, but just curious.

I went to the therapist today terrified of what it was going to be like but she put at easy as the session went along. She ask if I had a time line to transition an I told her NO. I told her if I had it my way I would get it all done tomorrow if I could but she said that to fast. My question is what is a good time line to get everything done?

Hi, Every time that I see my therapist she asks me if I have been losing more weight. At this point I don’t think that my weight loss is a big deal. I’ve looked up the Body Mass Index range for a person of my body type and height and I’m still above the minimum suggested weight. She has suggested that I maintain my current weight and I’ve been doing that for a while. I don’t know if this makes any sense, it’s not that I feel guilty about eating, I just feel happy when I don’t eat. I’ve also come to enjoy the “hunger buzz” that I get when I don’t eat. I don’t feel I’m starving myself because I don’t feel all that hungry. Anyway I’ve got this thing going on wit…

Hello! I am 22 y/o college student. I am physically male but am move between states of a female, androgynous, and male minds. It is one of many reasons why I have been hesitant to decide if I sould transition from MtoF. I am bisexual and out to my family. They don't like it but they don't say anything to me about it much anymore. I would like to find someone I can talk to about transitioning. I have many fears and concerns about it. Anyone willing to be like a transgender parent would be great. I don't have many people I can talk to about it. I just need someone that can give me hope that life as a transiuioned women can be good and safe, and not these dark tragic stories…

Talking with a tgirl friend, she reminded me that as boys we travelled light – carrying just a thin wallet, smart phone and biz cards in our jacket pockets (or pants pockets if not wearing a jacket) and some folding money in our boy pants pockets. That was all that we needed. I rolled my eyes and laughed when she asked me if I could still travel as light. No way I said. A girl never knows what she may need out in the cruel world for just a few hours or longer. Then I picked up my everyday bag, a Tods Shopper Tote, and started taking inventory. What can I say – bigger is definitely better as far as a bag or purse is concerned. Take a look at what I carry around ev…
